Tasty American style food, with a twist! Burgers are spot on and fries, well you will be served with a lot but it’s good to share. The starts we had chicken wings and that wasn’t too bad. My friends and I had sweet potato chips and normal regular fries. Pancake small stack was a lot but was really light and fluffy. Good day/night out with friends, causal scene, with banging old Skool hip-hop jams in the background. I would score this restaurant 7 out of 10.

Not the greatest place to go … Place was overpriced even though they was suppose to be a roof top place to eat they told us it was closed and the food was literally taste less

No taste dinner. The onion rings do not contain onions… The turkey special burger with cranberries is dry without cranberries… To avoid.

Called here for dinner, and was really pleased. First up this place is an American Diner in Camden. The menu, décor and music all represented the diner experience that have had in the US. I ordered a Burger & sweet potato fries & a diet coke. The food was decent enough and arrived within good time. I would recommend you trying this place out.

One of the only places where you can get breakfast all day. Portions are huge, food is pretty good. Food is actually American-style rather than fake American-style. They have Cholula on every table so you can spice everything up. Service tends to suck, though, but I guess that’s pretty common.

I expected to hate The Diner but I actually was quite impressed. The menu felt indeed like an American one(not just what Brits think Americans eat), the service was fantastic with a super sweet and attentive waitress(very American style as well) and the prices were ok. I had the corndog and a side of cheese fries. The corndog turned out to be two(a steal for £5) and the cheese fries were perfect. Not the healthiest meal I’ve ever had, but that’s diner food for you. Beers were fairly expensive(esp for being bottles not draughts), but wine was good and fairly priced.

Overpriced and under serviced. Drinks, at 2,50 per, were full of ice… Avoid this and go to the Elephants Head or Caffe Nero across the street

Return visit to The Diner prior to hitting the market. Daughter swears their ‘mac and cheese’ is the best there is. I decided to try the Big V dog with intrepidation. Veggie sausages that I’ve had in the past have been awful, usually macedonian vegetable mix formed into a sausage shape! I had a hot dog bun with two veggie hotdogs and ketchup and mustard drizzed across the top! it was delicious! We had to have a coke float each — I remember making these as a teenager when I worked in a Wimpy bar and very few places I’ve been to serve them! It’s traditional American food but it’s tasty so, if you’ve never been, well worth a visit!

Always get the same drink when I come here — vanilla ice cream with Peanut Butter and Nutella milkshake, and it’s absolutely freaking divine. Love it. And if that’s not for you, they do lots of other ‘shakes…with alcohol as an additional extra. The food here is also great, and they do gluten free buns for those of you out there that are allergic/intolerant or just on a health kick. The menu covers all your standard diner burgers alongside breakfast foods(including some Mexican influenced items) The service was also great and friendly. Definitely coming back.

This place has all the makings of a great diner but somehow didn’t quite live up to the hype! I’ve been here three times now and every time they didn’t have something. The first two times it was biscuits and the third it was ice cream(which was a bit amiss considering they serve milkshakes and desserts!) The food is great but I’d say it’s on the expensive side for what it is. It’s very touristy but it’s good for brunch if you’re out with friends.

It was just after noon and my colleague suggested getting some food. He has issues with gluten so it’s always fun trying to find something he can eat that won’t make him swell up. We also failed to agree on what meal it was, he was adamant it was still appropriate to eat breakfast, whereas I think 12ish is definitely lunch time! I jumped on Unilocal!to see where we could order an all day breakfast and a burger and found The Diner! We sat in a booth and ordered some drinks. I made the tragic mistake of thinking a milkshake would be a good choice. After having an amazing Oreo shake at Byron, I ordered one from here expecting the same creamy goodness. It was super thick and possibly the sweetest, most sickly thing I’ve ever ‘drank’. It also had a huge dollop of toffee/caramel sludge in it which kept clogging up my straw! The worst thing about the milkshake though was that it totally ruined my appetite. My burger with pulled pork and bbq sauce was unfinishable. It wasn’t a brilliant burger either, the patty was all beef-no seasoning, and the bun was a soggy mess. I also ordered a side order of sweet potato fries, which were good, if a little salty, and would have been great to dunk in my milkshake if it arrived at the same time.(If you don’t dunk fries in your shake, you’re doing it wrong!) I’d probably go back again, but not in a hurry.

Dined here for breakfast with a friend of mine right as they opened at either 10−11am. Everything looked good visually. The place was clean and the staff was polite. We ordered an omelet and pancakes to share. It all tasted just like home — what more do you need to know? Suggestion to the Diner — open earlier! Most Americans don’t want to eat breakfast at 10am unless it’s a weekend.

This is a nice place to hang out. We had alcoholic milkshakes on a rainy day, and boy did they hit the spot! Also, the sweet potato fries were delicious!

The atmosphere was amazing and menu read everything I would want from an American diner. I was yearning for a taste of home. It was sadly not that. Someone at my table watched her breakfast sit in the window for 15 minutes, while mine wasn’t bad in flavour, it wasn’t what was promised on the menu description and the hot dog that was ordered by another was just obviously under a heat lamp as well. American-style service was not part of the theme. We entered and staffed seemed nonplussed that we were there. After we sent back the lumberjack breakfast that was cold they gave us back the same plate heated up again(under a heat lamp no doubt) the eggs were curling at the edges where they had been over lamp-heated and dried out. I know image is a lot and when people are talking about the diner in their reviews they think the atmosphere is cool and the menu reads well, but I really noticed wasn’t those things but the mediocre food. Many will keep going here but I hope that they bring the standard of their food higher. Another reason why I question chains that grow so quickly because they have a trendy vibe not a renown menu.

I like the food here. It plays on the cool American diner vibe. Comfortable booths and pictures of California grace the walls. I’ve been here now twice for breakfast and once for dinner. I prefer their breakfast menu. So why 3 stars and not higher? The service here– though nice– is very slow. They simply do not hire enough staff to cover how busy this place is. I waited once 45 minutes for my bill. Not cool! Also– if you want to grab someone’s attention after you have your food that is going to be a difficult one– as there is simply not enough staff to cover all the tables! The food is true to American style on most dishes. I’ve went twice for breakfast. I got the blueberry pancakes which were good but it’s regular pancakes covered in a very thick blueberry sauce(may want to ask for light on the sauce). The second visit I got the veg. breakfast burrito which was very good and comes with black beans & guacamole. You should also order some hash-browns as the burrito is pretty small and you need something to absorb the spice. I will the veg breakfast burrito again if we go back. My husband gets the lumberjack breakfast and really enjoys it. For dinner I was not blown away by the food. I got the halloumi bun and felt it was covered in sauce. Don’t like the combo of pesto & hummus. Pick one! I’d definitely ask for your sauce on the side with that dish. Diner fries with sauce were okay but tasted too much of sugar in the sauce. Wouldn’t order those fries again. I’d definitely come back here for breakfast but just make sure you ask for the bill as soon as they put the food down to eliminate the long wait afterwards.

With the range of brunch menus to be found across London, this place was a bit disappointing in its options. I’m not a huge fan of American ‘diner’ food anyway — but it wasn’t my opportunity to choose the restaurant — so the choices of pancakes or waffles or heavy heavy breakfast burritos etc was not hugely appealing. If you are wanting something fresh and light for brunch, forget it — there’s a frozen yoghurt café across the road. I chose the baked eggs, and in comparison to the ones I had in Papercup in Glasgow they were decidedly average. The eggs were runny but all that was added to the skillet was a heap of red cheese, no spinach or tomatoes or anything. I’m giving it 3 stars and not 2 because there was nothing actually wrong with the place or the service — or indeed the food — it was just not to my taste.

In one word: Meh. If Unilocal would offer the possibility to have half degrees. then this place would totally deserve a 2.5 stars. This place is simply so and so, mediocre, half good half bad. Did you got the idea?! After a line of ten minutes advertised as a 5 one(but well that’s ok, when you are in shoreditch you behave as shoreditch people, in one word… you wait!), we sat at this typical american diner(the fact that I’m speaking as I’ve ever been to a real diner is just hilarious!), you know the kind of places you find in any New York located movie. I like the idea, a bar, diner sofas, blackboard with the menu… this sort of stuff! We had burgers, fries and salads. Just mediocre. I mean, nothing bad, but I nothing good, I had the diablo, advertised as signature dish, but in the end it’s just a cheeseburger with bacon and jalapeño. damn this is everything your cook can do? for 9 pounds it’s a bit too easy… the salad was a bit too short on everything but salad, yes nice try my darling, but do you really think I’m THAT stupid!?! The only reason for going to this place is probably the milk-shake: a bit expensive but definitely good! With the choice of places in Eastern London where to have a burger, go somewhere else… but if you want a milkshake during afternoon then… road to the diner!

My dining partner and I come here on average once a month for the pancakes. If you come when the place isn’t overly crowded, the pancakes are top notch, as is everything else we’ve tried here(all breakfasty foods, I will admit). When it’s very busy, though, the food is a bit hit and miss. The last time we were here, I got toasted corn bread with smashed avocado with chili peppers and two poached eggs on top. And a few bites of his pancakes. It was absolutely delicious, and will likely be my new staple — when I don’t have those pancakes. Speaking of the pancakes, it’s the plain buttermilk pancakes that are the best. I got blueberry pancakes once and was disappointed to see that it’s just the plain pancakes, served with a blueberry sauce instead of maple syrup. When I think blueberry pancakes, I think blueberries in the batter — but maybe that’s just me?

The Diner varies in quality, but the Camden branch is my fave. The shakes are second only to Byron. Yet the Diner makes up for that with the selection far outmatching. Their Pistachio shake for instance is just pure bliss. The food varies, but one thing you can sure of is that the diner will continually renovate it’s menu to clear out things that don’t work and introduce things that will ignite the food world. The DCB I had recently is one of those things. It stands for Diner Chicken Burger and it’s a moist piece of buttermilk fried chicken topped with bacon, blue cheese, coleslaw and pickles. It’s a masterpiece. Surely, if they can re-create more burgers touching this epicness they will have me as a customer after many more gigs in Camden Town.

I love any restaurant that serves a reuben sandwich! For those of you who haven’t a clue what the greatest American sandwich is… then go and order a reuben sandwich at The Diner! You won’t regret it! I like diners… and I think the UK should have more of them. The fact I came here after a large night out… I paid massage homage by ordering large! I ate everything on my plate, but my friend who’s hangover experience had turned in the wrong direction was unable to eat much. His loss! Nice place, nice menu. I recomend!
