Express by Holiday Inn

Zimmer sehr sauber, modern und geräumig. Sensationell leckeres Frühstück und man ist überraschend schnell in der Innenstadt (Victoria Station). Der Fön, den man an der Rezeption leihen muss, war leider nicht so toll. Ansonsten uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen!

Das Hotel liegt etwas außerhalb von London, die Bahnverbindung nach London City soll aber gut sein.
Wir hatten einen Leihwagen, deshalb hatten wir auf die Bahn nach London City verzichtet.
Was sich später aber als Fehler herausgestellt hatte. Die Parplatzssituation in London ist nämlich katatstrophal und wenn man einen Platz findet ist der Sau teuer (5 Std. 36 Pfund!)
Das Hotel ist einfach und auch schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Die Zimmer sind aber sauber und ordentlich.
Ich hatte für mich und meine Kids ein Vierbett Zimmer gebucht. Das zimmer hat im Spezial-​Pre-​Paid Tarif für uns alle zusammen 89 EUR gekostet.
Das Frühstück ist im Preis inbegriffen und ist auch okay. Leider wird das Frühstück schon um 9:30 Uhr abgeräumt, so dass ich nur noch ein mini Croisant und eine Tasse Tee abbekommen hatte, der Rest meiner Family war aber schon früher da und auch zufrieden.
Die Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig, d.h. man kann den Zimmernachbar gut hören und man selbst wird auch gut gehört.
Wir waren wirklich sehr leise trotzdem hatte sich der Nachbar offenbar von uns gestört gefühlt.
Das Hotel liegt dirket an einer gut befahrenen Hauptstraße, wenn man die Fenster offen lässt, hört man natürlich entsprechende Aussengeräuche.
Was mich persönlich nicht wirklich stört, aber wer’s gern ruhih mag sollte schauen, ob er ein Zimmer abseits der Strasse bekommt.
Wir sind am Flughafen Stansted angekommen.
Ich hatte dieses Hotel als zwischenstation gewählt um von dort dann weiter nach London City zu kommen.
Die Auswahl an Hotels in London und Umgebung ist natürlich riesig, dieses Hotel hat mich nicht so wirklich vom Hocker gerissen. Aber wenn man etwas bezahlbares im Umkreis von London haben möchte, muss man wohl seine Ansprüche etwas herunterschrauben.
Mit Berücksichtigung, was andere Hotels im Umkreis von London kosten und auch das freundliche Hotelpersonal hat mich bewogen hier 3 Sterne zu geben.

The hotel was really far away from pretty much everything, but that’s why I was even able to get a room there. It was a last minute booking for a sat night and everywhere in town was booked up unless i pay more than 300 pounds for the night.
Anyways, I figure one night in the Docklands wasn’t the worst thing in the world, with the tube being a block away and all. The hotel was pretty much what I have expected it to be. It was clean and neat and everything was at its minimal. The bathroom was clean, the shower was hot, the tv worked fine and the beds were pretty decent. The continental breakfast that came with the room wasn’t as good as the breakfasts I’ve had at the other Holiday Inn Expresses, but I guess it depends on the region/​culture.
Overall, it was a good deal and great for a short stay.

Express by Holiday Inn Royal Docks-​Docklands is only a short walk from Canning Town station, from where you can catch either the Jubilee line or a DLR train into central London. The hotel is an excellent example of its type and rates can be very good value if you take advantage of one of the offers available on a regular basis either online or in newspapers. The rooms contain all the essentials and I have never experienced any problems here. A help-​yourself continental breakfast is included in the room price, the reception staff are efficient and friendly and all of the public areas are well maintained. A great budget option.
