Was in area so popped in after craving a bit of pasta. The name of the place…‘Fasta’. I’m no Sherlock but I’m guessing it’s because it’s pasta but fast-er. Maybe it’s less a connotation with fast food but that pasta is made quickly anyway. The décor inside is bright and airy. On a yellow theme. The service was attentive and friendly. On first look at menu there are some strange options and I was starting to realise maybe why it was called Fasta. They are trying to be different. Choose one of the various styles of pasta. Then choose a sauce with it and if you want an additional extra(bacon, chicken etc) add that on. I got the tagliatelle, with a creamy mushroom sauce. No extras. Also a San Pellegrini. Standard drink to get when in an Italian I find(meaning I bloody love that sugary drink). It came as a lunchtime deal that was with a garlic bread. The food came out 10 mins later promptly. It was presented really well on a tray, the smell was a good start. And my eyes were seeing thumbs up. Firstly the soft garlicky finger bread was awesome. Bit of cheese on there, but not too much. The pasta tasted fresh and the sauce was beautifully subtle. I love mushrooms and there was a good amount in the sauce too. Right near the beating heart of Muswell Hill it seems a promising place, and I liked this weird menu option of choosing a type of pasta then sauce. Surprised I haven’t seen it before actually. I doubt I’d sing the praise of its chicken curry sauce as an option(I mean I like DIY pasta but let’s not ruin it with totally different cuisines guys! What next Japanese wasabi?). Either way the meal I had was very good and I can’t fault it.

Great fresh pasta, you pick your pasta, sauce and toppings for a reasonable price. It’s family friendly. We were a party of 7 with 3 children. Everyone was happy with the food. The desserts did not seem authentic(options were carrot cake, cheese cake etc) so we passed.

Pasta e fasta. Well what can I say, this little been of light was a nice surprise. Colourful interior and quirky set up was the initial thought followed by a simplistic menu for choosing type of pasta. Sauce and toppings. Perfectly balanced dish for my tagliarltello and slightly too all dente for my partners tortellini. I thought it was great value. And coke in bottles. Great stuff

I had the opportunity to live in Muswell Hill while studying abroad. This was definitely one of my favorite spots for a quick, delicious, and inexpensive meal! My roommate and I took advantage of the wine and pasta deal they had for dinner. They have so many options for everyone’s preference. The service was friendly and fast. The waiter even gave us tips on going out at night. Definitely recommend if you are on a budget.

Open later than other places on Sunday’s when every closes early. Great concept(build your own pasta dish!) Cheerful staff. Great food. A wonder find. Highly recommend.

What a great little spot! I’m ashamed to say that since I’m not the biggest pasta eater, I’ve avoided this new addition to Muswell Hill for a few months. The pasta is excellent The salad was delicious The staff were friendly & helpful The only minus was that their credit card machine was down — which we discovered when we asked for the bill. ahem. However, for the rest it was all good.
