I really wanted to like this sushi place. The food was okay but service was SO slow. We went on a Saturday afternoon and there was only one other table seated. They were clearly already done with their meal and were just chatting. We proceeded to order our food rather quickly as everyone was hungry and knew what they wanted. We then waited about 45 minutes for even the first dishes to come out… not sure what the hold up was as the waitress disappeared.

Totally overpriced! The food were not fresh at all! We ordered a ‘Japanese Bento’, the price was £13.25 with only 7 pieces of sushi! Then, I ordered a ‘Fish Katsu Curry’, there were about 4 – 5 pieces of squids, 1 piece of fish and 2 prawns, even though they presented the dishes nicely, but the food were not fresh! The curry tasted a bit sour, seemed like it had gone bad or maybe that was how their curry tasted like… The ‘Teriyaki’ sauce did not taste anything like a teriyaki sauce, it was meant to be sweet; but theirs tasted sour and had a gingery smell. The fried chicken was too dry… It was too hard for us to eat, even a young child rejected the chicken! However, the service is acceptable!

Good for takeaway though somewhat overpriced and the rolls are a big unimaginative. No ambience though so definitely don’t eat in.

The quality of the fish is good its very expensive and the portions are tiny. we got a take away Katsu curry which was eaten in 2 mouthfuls and it was around £10. its actually offensive how much they charge for so little. The food is fresh though so I give it ½ a star.

This is such a disappointing place to eat. Even the edamame was past it. Fish cakes rock hard. Sushi smelling fishy. Warm coke, had to ask for ice. Was so much better two years ago.

Really bad. Really, really overpriced. Got 1 avocado roll, 1 veggie spring roll«mock duck» thing, and some eggplant for 17 pounds. The roll was fine, but not outstanding(we asked for inside out + brown rice + cucumber and didn’t any of those things). The mock duck spring roll was strange because the wrapper was a thin flour tortilla rather than rice paper. It also came with the most revolting sauce. The eggplant was downright awful. It was bland and COVERED in grease. So gross. It was completely limp and tasteless. It came with a side of miso sauce that tasted fine alone, but didn’t do much to help the greasy eggplant. I don’t think I’ll order from this place ever again.

Feng, i love your sushi and would have it nearly every other night if I could. But your service is just absolutely awful these days. For delivery, it always takes over an hour… always. And the reality is that it takes nearly two hours… absurd really when you think it is just sushi. This is a very consistent experience and we’re tired of it… so, feng, I am sad to say… we won’t be ordering from you any more.

ordered in delivery from here after finding it on some«best delivery places» list. they list all the calories in the different dishes on their website, which is nice if you’re trying to count. our food took a little over an hour to arrive, which was annoying because the japanese fish and chips had already gone cold, but after reheating it was very good. the sushi tasted very fresh too

Feng Sushi has just had a relaunch and the sushi was delicious. It describes itself as a match between the«traditional and the modern» which I take to mean that traditional sushi cuisine is combined with more vegetables and tofu to give a more European style. There is also more rice than you would find in Japan, but that is what we are used to over here. The restaurant is stylish and it is fun to be able to glance through one of the fish tanks and see into the kitchen. Not too sure what the fish make of the proceedings though.

Upon our arrival at Feng Sushi in Chalk Farm we are greeted by… nobody… infact we’re basically ignored… The waitress at the till doesn’t look up despite the restaurant being completely empty, and the waiter continues his texting away in the corner completely ignoring us. After a wait, we’re finally taken to a table, but despite the fact that there are only two of us in the restaurant at 8.30 on a Saturday night, service continues to be terrible throughout our meal. We order our food,(a seemingly difficult process during which the waiter doesn’t write anything down). The food arrives gradually over a 30 minute period yet dishes are not what we ordered… go figure… The suggestion becomes that we are unaware of what we asked for… right. On the upside the food is reasonably decent, though VERY costly considering what we get. A portion of what is described on the menu as «Tempura prawn» consists of only 2 prawns plus some tempura vegetables for over £10… I would not eat here again.

If I had to eat one meal for dinner every night for the rest of my life it would be sushi. Cheap, delicious, colorful, sustainable sushi. Yet I was only mildly impressed with Feng Sushi. While I give it MAJORPROPS for its sustainability jive, and other props for having BROWNRICE, it loses points for the following: — they did not have ready made take away boxes as advertised — totally skimped on ginger, wasabi, and soy sauce(essentials for any sushi addict) — a bit pricey for two rolls, i think — the pre-fixe bento boxes kindof suck in my opinion, and the cheaper option just gave you a measly cucumber roll(no fish) — after spending 12 pounds, i was still hungry. and that ain’t good. Im sticking with Bento Box after 8PM, half price, happiness in my mouth and belly.

I’ve had sushi delivered to my home from here on more than one occasion and each time, I never had a complaint. The menu options are varied, reasonably priced and fresh tasting. Is it the best sushi I have ever had? No, Yet for a takeaway I would certainly recommend. I should let you know that Feng Sushi is a small restaurant where you can sit in, but seeing as I never have, I cannot comment on the service.

The fish was undercooked. Yeah, I’ll admit I’m no sushi expert. It’s just not something I eat very often in London, at least partly because it seemed much better value on the East coast(yeah, yeah, the West coast makes East coast sushi taste like bait. I know. Quiet hippies. I’m presuming there are places where it’s better again, like, you know, Japan?). But Feng Sushi is not too pricey. So what do you get? Well, to my uneducated palate, you get perfectly reasonable sushi. It wasn’t the best I’d ever had, but it was tasty nonetheless. The staff were friendly and attentive(without crowding us). All in all, Feng Sushi didn’t blow my mind, but I’d happily go back. And that’s more to do with the food than any harmonic balance created by the placement of a small water fountain next to the door…

This place is a quality food — fresh fresh ingrediences, you can taste it is as fresh as it gets. Usually pick it up as take away — that is the advantage of sushi(does not get cold, haha), but staff is really nice and choice is great. We usually go for the bento box and some extras — and you must try the brown rice! Just yummy! Would recommend to anyone who liked good sushi!

At about 12 pounds for a salmon plate of 6 sushi and a full roll, this place makes good sushi at an affordable price. It’s good sushi and a lot better then I’ve been finding around town but not amazing sushi… wish someone in London would figure out how to make spicy mayonnaise for rolls like they do in the states(it’s not suppose to taste like mayonnaise people, it’s suppose to taste spicy) so any spicy roll is a bit of a disappointment, but in general, good value for your money, fish was tasty and fresh. Not my most favorite place I’ve found in London for sushi but definitely a place I will come back to and recommend to others.

Feng Sushi is but a hop and a skip away from my front door and therefore a place I often find myself in when I don’t want to venture too far. Luckily, it’s pretty good. As the name suggests, the restaurant offers Japanese fare is served up in clean and contemporary surroundings. Although it’s more of a takeaway/delivery joint, it’s pleasant enough to eat at the benches and be mesmerised by the fish tank. There’s no conveyor belt, just good old waiter service which is fine by me. The sushi is always very fresh, sashimi & handrolls being the staple dishes but they do great tempura and noodle dishes too should raw fish not be your thing. Last time I was in here we had Udon Noodles Soup and Teriyaki Sushi with some Sake and beers and it came to less than £20 each, and we were stuffed!

This tiny restaurant is a popular lunchtime haunt for those who work locally so if you swing by at peak time, finding a perch might be tricky. If you do squeeze in, you’ve done well. Their fresh and interesting sushi combinations are delicious, but for those who aren’t raw fish fans, try the noodle soup that comes with crisp and tasty tempura. The deep fried rolls are decidedly inauthentic if you’re a true devotee of Japan, but none the less very tasty — although probably better for sharing — and, at the other end of the scale — the cherry tomato and feta salad with edamame beans is fresh, light and delicious. Service is generally swift and friendly and, if you’re a fan of Japanese, and not a stickler for tradition, this modern take on it slips down a treat.
