I have been a Fitness First gypsy since changing jobs at the beginning of the year with none of the gyms around my new office matching the standard set by the Broadgate branch. Fitness First Monument is the one that comes closest and is where I now find myself heading after work. I discovered the gym by accident whilst walking around the area at lunchtime. The name is a bit of a misnomer as it is located in London Bridge(as in the structure of the Bridge on the north side). The gym is very small but always seems quiet especially in the weights area where either the squat rack or bench is always free! This branch primarily caters for the City Boys who play squash(there are some seriously good players on the three courts at the club) which accounts for the small weights and cardio area. The changing rooms are also small and I am not a fan of the L shaped lockers as my backpack has to be wedged in. The showers are completely open and have no cubicle doors which is also a minus for me. But overall this is my Fitness First of choice in the London Bridge area.
