The new design looks great and their home made pasta is to die for! The staff are polite and efficient and the fact that most of them are actually from Italy and actually know about the food being served adds tremendously to the experience. Great place!

I’ve been here three times over the past three days and the service has been excellent each time. Friendly, attentive, and quick. Great coffee. Good food. Spotty service. Sometimes friendly and attentive, other times it is obvious they don’t work for tips and would rather not be working at all that day. My most recent visit, however, the service was excellent. Very courteous attentive even though I only ordered coffee to have with a cigar. Perhaps the best feature are the tables out front where one can enjoy a cigar while having a cocktail or glass of wine. Davidoff is just around the corner and JJ Fox two blocks down the street on St James.

The Lamb dish on the specials board came with super heated veg that contained a large amount of water, which diluted the sauce. The veg totally lacked any flavour. The waiters encourage guests to have a side salad, which did not turn up, but were charged for.

Staying at the Cavendish on Jermyn St. and this restaurant was recommended by the front desk. The space is bright, and filled with business lunchers and friends catching up, and what appeared to be very few tourists. We started with some foccacia, which was delicious. I had the pappardelle with quail and truffle. The pasta was fresh and the sauce had this wonderful game-y, earthy texture from the truffle and quail that I couldn’t resist. I wish I was able to sample more of their dishes because this one definitely whet my appetite. The service was fast, attentive, and friendly and the overall atmosphere of the place made for a very enjoyable upscale lunch. I do have one issue with this place, which is the prices. £16 for my pasta dish equates to about $ 20 if you strip away the VAT. It’s a bit steep, even for a big city.

Franco’s was good, but not great. We started with a delicious white truffle risotto and OK pasta, and then had two great entrees, but dessert was nothing special. The cheese plate included two parmesans, and a crème brûlée went unfinished by me and my date. Service was OK, but the interior isn’t welcoming, and I think I’d like to try other restaurants before returning to Franco’s, although I wouldn’t object to going again. Having only been once, I think it’s more likely future visits would increase my rating from three to four, instead of decreasing it, but this first experience wasn’t too special.

we came here before the theatre last night and had some great pasta. there are breadsticks and flatbread waiting for you at the table when you arrive. then they come around w/the bread basket of various rolls, and the olive roll was delish. i had to restrain myself to eat just one, since i got an order of lobster spaghetti. i tried the burratta, carpaccio, and mushroom salad apps, and all were good. my spaghetti was really tasty, but i wish there was more lobster in it. this is a cute place to come before seeing a show.

Franco’s is a great Italian place. This is a great place for a date night, business dinner, or for a small group. It was full, and we had to wait for a table. Definitely make a reservation. I will try breakfast and lunch if in the neighborhood. The lasagne is so delicious!

Franco’s on Jermyn Street always struck me as being a place to go if you wanted to be seen and hang out with the It crowd. However, when I first went for lunch there, I was surprised about the quality of food that I received: Italian dishes with simple ingredients, yet refined enough to stand out from the mass of Italian restaurants. Service was slightly slow but very friendly, and the interior was fairly small with quite a few tables cramped into the limited space. Franco’s also offer tables outside which may come handy in summer although they are very close to the road and close enough to St James so that smells and noise caused by traffic may deter from the food. However, if you are a smoker or want to have a quick espresso while sitting down, those tables may be the place for your.

I did not eat here, I sat outside and enjoyed a cigar from Davidoff which is across the street. A gentleman took great care of me despite the fact I simply had 3 drinks and a cappuccino. The drinks and cappuccino where superb and I think I will go back tomorrow.

One of the most elegant restaurants in London great food, stylish service and devine deserts. Best seats are outside under the heaters where you can also enjoy a cigar.

Great place for a quick Italian lunch in Mayfair, at the corner of St James and Jermyn Street. Slightly posh but lively, well attended and importantly very good. It feels a bit like being in Milan in one of the upmarket pasta and risotto places around Brera and the Duomo. I go there for a quick pasta(pasta of the day was spaghetti alle vongole) with a ruccola salad which makes it a savoury, good value, lunch option. Perfect if you have 30 minutes to lunch.

Franco’s, in the heart of Mayfair, is a bit posh. I’ve been there quite a few times and have always been suitably impressed. The staff have that perfect mix of being formal yet relaxed and friendly — attentive and knowledgable without making you feel you have to constantly sit up straight. And the food is incredible — simple, tasty and top quality produce. I am a believer in judging a restaurant by it’s bread basket — and Franco’s does a damn good break basket. With a generous mix of rye, white and fruit breads with good quality olive oil, which staff are always happy to replenish I always love a place that serves you steak without a steak knife — such a smug way of saying ‘We know how juicy and tender our steak is, so don’t even ASSUME you need a steak knife’. And no, I didn’t need a steak knife. Not overtly pricey, either, for the quality of the food, service and atmosphere.

As you walk into this place there is an enormous and slightly disconcertingly real-looking detailed nude behind the receptionist. The eye cannot help but linger. Luckily this seemed a 100% male clientele at the time I visited. This is a great atmosphere, and great décor small room restaurant. I have aonly breakfasted here and is great for a working breakfast. The eggs benedict was middle of the road. Nicely done eggs, ham and sause good. But burned muffins. No comment on lunch. Lots of stogie smoking gents outside as a spill over from Davidoff opposite. A pleasant change from the Wollsley and Cecconis.

If you’re looking for a superb breakfast at a lovely restaurant, Franco’s is open from 7:30am. I’ve had several breakfast meetings in there, and while I don’t necessarily agree with the breakfast meeting ethos, I can’t think of anywhere I would rather be at that time, doing that kind of thing. The staff are polite and attentive, their Eggs Benedict is excellent, and the rest of their breakfast menu is fresh and varied, from greek yogurt with honey, to cooked breakfasts, to porridge. It is the morning haunt for many business folk who work in the St James’ area, who pop in for coffee and a croissant, but if you’re in London on business or pleasure, and you have an early start, pop in to Franco’s. It’s not cheap — but it is worth it.
