Fresh and tasty produce but on the expensive side for a sandwich(all be it a rather nice one) cake and a drink you will easily part with £10. Guess this is fairly standard for W1 now. Staff are knowledgeable and the service swift. There cakes are lovely but again from £2.50 — £4.90 per item not your everyday digestive. Highly recommend the triple chocolate cookie if you have a serious sweet tooth!

Gail’s in St John Wood was already a favourite of mine but when this one opened in my neighbourhood, I was delighted! First few days of opening and everything in the store was perfect. The smell of freshly baked bread and pastries on a Saturday morning was intensely satisfying. The staff was extremely nice and helpful, even at insane-o’clock on a busy Wednesday morning. It’s a perfect place for a light breakfast/brunch. There are about a dozen tables to sit and enjoy your fresh-baked pastries and coffee. Bring a few friends or family in on a Sunday and the place is big enough to accommodate. It’s also a great place to grab a pastry to-go and head for a nice walk through Hyde Park on a non-rainy day. Come in and smell the bread!

Saw this little place was open on my way home and love it already! Great variety and cute area to bring the laptop for writing or working in the afternoon.
