Good size portion and reasonably priced. Food here is one of the best in Acton for sure. Unfortunately I didn’t get to try their beer this time but I will the next time.

Absolutely perfect local pub, with bonus brewery. My wife and I were visiting from the States and had a wonderful time. We liked it so much we went back the next night. Bartenders were friendly, food was good, beer was excellent. We had the bangers and mash, which were great, and my wife loved the brownie. There are loads of nooks and crannies to grab a seat and have an intimate chat. There are beautiful lamps and the building is several hundred years old. I enjoyed the beer, and Jason the manager showed me around the brewery. He even let me sample their pumpkin beer out of the fermentor. I really can’t recommend the place highly enough. Fabulous people.

This is an awesome olde pub(there is even a list of landlords on the wall going back a couple of hundred years) but with a modern microbrewery at the back. A winning combination! Their Early Doors IPA was always likely to be my favourite, but I also enjoyed Dark Matter, 2 O’clock Ordinary and their Weissbier called Achtung! Good brewery. We stayed long enough to warrant some food. The burgers looked delicious, but we decided to go for 3 snacks for a tenner. This meant we could both have a snack of our choice and also share some chips. I enjoyed the luxury fish fingers!(No Captain Birdseye here!)

I don’t know how this pub used to be, but nowadays they brew their own beers and it is awesome! I will have to try them all, there is a quite wide selection. Plus, the place itself is very pretty, and the staff nice. What can possibly go wrong? OK, I didn’t try the food but the plates I see passing by look quite appetising. All together it is a very nice experience.

One of the oldest taverns in West London and the best too. Great ale, decent food(not microwaved), a function room and an open fire. Pub heaven.

I’m going to come back and review this place again(was not disappointed, but it was a while back I last went). For now, I’d like to refer you to the venerable FancyAPint site, which mistakenly calls it «St. George and the Dragon» but ranks it as a four-pinter:

We like this pub, it’s quiet and relaxed and has fruli beer and hoegaarden in the proper glasses. It also looks authentic and is quite dark and intimate due to the dark wood panelling. They have a dining room and have a regularly changing menu. We haven’t eaten there yet but the food always looks good. We often go in with the Sunday papers in the afternoon to have a drink and read the papers. The map is showing it as off the high street in Acton but it’s actually right on the high street between church road and crown street.
