A nice little back street pub located just behind the London Hospital. Clean and tidy but a little tired and dated. Beer: General range of lagers and ales. Price: Fosters £3.90 a pint(3rd Feb 2015) Food: Had a quick beef burger, £5.95(3rd Feb 2015) Bap was a little stale around the edges and over toasted, the burger was bland and over cooked. The menu states homemade coleslaw which I would question as it looked liked basic supermarket fare. Chips and salad fine. Staff: In the lunch hour they were excellent, and polite offering a good standard of service.

Nice no-frills place to get a beer. I like the location and the staff was friendly. A good place for a quiet mid-day pint, getting a lot more lively in the evenings.

I went there today for a pub lunch from work. I used to go there often years ago, but had never eaten there. It was a fairly quiet Thur lunch time & the food arrived within minutes– literally. A good selection of pub grub & reasonably priced. It certainly makes a change from all the local curry houses, halal & kebab type restaurants nearby. It was nice for a change, but can’t believe it was all cooked fresh to order. One collegue had sausages which she descibed as chewy & dry. I had a grilled chicken breast in a wrap with red pepper hummous & chips. It looked appealing, but had an odd taste. The waitress was however attentive & asked how the meal was– something I’ve rarely seen in a pub! My other collegues omelette must have been cooked to order & she said it was fine. When I used to frequent the pub for after work drinks, it was always packed. No where to sit inside & people spilling onto the street. Predominately all hospital staff. A good range of drinks & friendly staff. Not somewhere I’d search out unless I was in the vicinity, but worth a visit if you are.

Nice little traditional pub tucked away, bizarrely enough, in the middle of a hospital. Apparently frequented mostly by medical students, it was a little quiet on the wintry Saturday night when we went, but it did mean that we managed to get a huge table next to a cosy little fireplace. The pub’s not going to win any awards, but it is of a reliable standard, staff are friendly and helpful, drinks are not too dear, and it has Sky Sports if that’s your bag. It is also 3 minutes walk from Tayyabs, so serves perfectly as a pre-curry meetup point.
