It would be difficult to find if I didnt have my gps! It is basically the building after the post office. You go down some steps. Now on to the tea. Really great tea. It tasted fresh and clean and somehow healthy. Masala Chai was yummy. The process which goes into the making of the tea is intricate and they have really cool filtering equipment. They have really tasty crumpets, the savoury one was so good. I think I am gonna go back for one of those soon. There are no tables but there is a bench to sit on and they are apparently opening a new location with tables and seats. So I will be on the look out when it opens.

What better way to kick-off a new year of Unilocaling than with a cuppa Good & Proper Tea? And an FTR(first to review) no less! Indeed, shall we? This lovely little tea shop is tucked neatly into the recently renovated Bower Building on Old Street. It’s been under construction for AGES, so at least my patience for stepping around all the debris is rewarded with a darling tea place to visit now. The planning gods have made a small pedestrian pathway from Old Street to Bastwick Street(Old Fountain), and Good & Proper Tea is just right there in the middle, a little oasis amid the chaos of Old Street. The map marker is correct, I have made sure — so if you are on the lookout for it, it will help you as will this paragraph. Now, on to the tea! These folks take their tea seriously and brew each cup specifically. Wow. Ok, I’m ready. I opted for a matcha tea(which I love, but its a pretty specific taste) with coconut milk. It was prepared lovingly and I enjoyed it all the way whilst on my walk to work. If you like your tea very specific, this is your place. Even if you don’t, I’m pretty sure you’ll leave happy. They also have a selection of tea instruments and brewing contraptions as well as CRUMPETS with butter/jam and a nice selection of cakes. They’ll gladly take tea with you for awhile, too! This is very local shop, you can tell they care about their tea and their customers. All around great experience and another reason to enjoy Old Street. Ace here Good & Proper, I’ll be a regular in 2016! Welcome to the block.
