Gossip is my absolute go-to in the Hackney/London Fields area. Sometimes London cafes make me think that a good soya latte just isn’t possible, but Gossip never lets me down. The prices are very reasonable, the almond croissants are the perfect morning pick-me-up and the sandwiches are delicious and hearty. They also have a great selection of specialty teas and vegan snacks. The atmosphere is always calm and peaceful as well. Definitely worth a visit from vegetarians, vegans and meat eaters alike!

Nice little coffee shop it’s quite hidden and if you don’t know it you’ll probably miss it. However, their coffee is great and the tables are perfect for a two-person party. Also, I like the high level of hygiene that is kept.

A nice little unassuming café tucked away in Broadway Market. Its very small, but it has a great atmosphere. The coffee is great and they have a wonderful selection of teas.

Nice local friendly staff. A bit scruffy but that’s fine and I guess part of its charm.

Delicious tea, and a huge selection too. They also tell it dry to take home. Lovely, warm friendly service, and they always make a lot of effort to get your tea or coffee just how you like it. In no way pretentious. Feels like home!

I must have walked past Gossip several dozen times before finally venturing in. No doubt the word«vegetarian» scared me off. But a shortage of time and Broadway Market’s complete lack of ready-made lunch options finally drove me in. Gossip’s sandwiches are great. And you don’t have to stand around while they make them. Four quid gets you a far-more-tasty-than-it-sounds spicy ginger/carrot sandwich. The salsa option is highly recommended too. The real star, however, is the bread itself. Nutty and fruity. Soft but crusty. Mmmm.

Very small place. They only played Bob Marley’s music, I got some cake that looked good but in fact didn’t taste that good. It tries to have character but in my opinion it needs a make-over and a bit of tidying.

I like to gossip. Not related to that, I also like Gossip. The Café that is. I’ve walked past this place so many time without even a second thought until a friend suggested getting coffee and a sarnie from here. I mean, if the terror of being on Broadway Market and not going to Climpton and Sons for coffee isn’t too much to handle this place is actually lovely. Great selection of sandwiches, teas(including flowering ones), coffee and other treats. There are a small number of seats in the back and a few outside, perfect for watching the world go by. I like it, I do. I shall be back.

I almost spat with disgust when someone suggested i get a vegan lunch over at this little café. But I was pleasantly surprised(I still pretended to eat it with disgust). I love the over-priced salads here as they really don’t feel like rabbit food, they actually fill you up. Even the vegan cakes are yummy. Apparently the tea is kind of a big deal but I’ve never actually sat down in there as the place is absolutely tiny. So if you’re feeling like you should be healthy and have spare £10 to burn on expensive cakes and salad then mos def go here.

Anyone who rates Climpsons over Gossip on Broadway Market is a complete muffin. They provide by far superior coffee, tea, chai or anything else. For one they know how to serve it up hot, whereas you will be lucky if you get it tepid over at Climspons. The coffee from Gossip is top notch, and whether you decide to stay in, lounge around int heir comfy back room, to take out and hit the market, you will NOT be disappointed.

I’ve long been awaiting a time where London, in the grip of its café culture, is hit by a tea renaissance in which everyone, instead of hanging out at the coolest coffee shops, like LCB, Flat White and Tina We Salute You turns to our old English tradition of tea houses with renwed fervour. It hasn’t really happened yet, but if it did the cosy Gossip would be a good place to start. It’s ironically probably not the best place to gossip in, as it’s super-intimate, so much so that if you’re a sumo wrestler you’d have trouble navigating the closely nestled stables. It is however always filled with the kinds of parents whose kids buggies have cappucino holders, and it is for this reason that I’ve always called it ‘The Tardis’. The tea is absolutely amazing. Oolong? Check. Green? Check. Every other brand you could hope to imagine? Your wish is their commaand. They also have chinese tea pots in which you can make the perfect tea, if you just can’t get enough when you finally leave for home.

Like tea? You’ll love Gossip. I’m not really a fan of your bog standard builder’s tea, which, in my country, I recall referring to as ‘Gumboot tea’, but am a bona fide herbal tea freak. Nettle for detoxing, peppermint for relaxing, and white tea for its antioxidants; it is my personal belief that there is a tea for every ailment and I shamelessly consider it my personal mission to drink my way through them. It’s a good thing then that places like Gossip exist. This popular Broadway Market café a veritable tea and coffee emporium with a welcoming, warm atmosphere, friendly staff and really, in essence, just a hell of a lot of high quality tea. A good place for a quiet cuppa with a friend but the kind of place you don’t feel out of place solo.

Gossips is the perfect place to warm up and get a warm drink on a cold day when looking around the market. They have a good selection of herbal teas, coffee and vegan snacks– their vegan chocolate cake is very moist with a thick chocolate frosting and could almost pass as a dairy cake. There are a cluster of tables at the back of the shop which are usually full of people reading papers, working on lap tops or chatting in small groups. It is a very relaxed and charismatic little coffee shop.

I can’t tell you how happy I was to find Gossip. A café where you can have real tea. You know where it still looks like flowers and leaves, has a strong aromatic scent, and feels like more than just flavoured water. You can mix and match your teas to create your own personal blend. You can also buy tea here to take home for a very reasonable price. It is a lovely little café to sit and have a chat in on a weekday morning. There a vegan and vegetarian menu which of course I am a huge fan of any café with that mentality. Unfortunately it is not as charming on Saturdays with hordes of trendy people pining for a table.

There is something incredibly wholesome about walking into a place that focuses on tea. I find a big selection of tea really exciting, and tend to feverishly scroll through the menu until I find the strangest or most obscure brew. Gossip is great for that. It is conveniently located across the road from a gourmet coffee place. Depending what mood you’re in, you have the best of teas and coffee at your disposal. It kind of feels like a little retreat, pleasantly detached from the hectic world outside. Saying that, if you want the kind of tranquility I am talking about, you are best off going during the week.

In the middle of Broadway Market, Gossip is a cosy Vegan & Vegetarian café with somewhat of a European vibe. Its bigger inside than you first think with a few chairs and tables behind the counter and a couple of tables outside on the street. They have a good selection of teas, mediocre coffee and good breads & pastries. A good place to hide away from the world with a good book or a newspaper, or to catch up with a friend. Although it can quickly fill up being so small so be prepared to get take out and its perhaps best avoided during the Saturday market.
