Oh Dear. I ate here and had a lovely meal a month ago, so good that I returned last night to have the exact same meal. I think the kitchen was having a bad night. Bread was stale, which is just not good enough. Oysters had an unusual taste and texture, I would suspect that they were frozen, or kept very, very, very cold. Skate with brown butter, which last visit was a thing of beauty, was a let down, overcooked fish and no brown butter. Service left a bit to be desired also. I will bypass for a while.

Another seafood restaurant that hits the mark on quality of the food and service, but completely misses it on the atmosphere. I’m sure we were slightly unlucky going for dinner mid week, but being the only guests apart from a business Christmas party was not great. We were seated at the back of the room, which in a basement makes you feel a bit like being put in storage. The waiters were very friendly and definitely did everything to make us welcome. And the chef even came out of the kitchen to have a chat with us and let us taste a new soup he was working on for the Christmas party season. These little touches are what lifted the rating to a four star. The food was great quality produce, simply done and perfectly cooked: A grilled skate wing with caper sauce, a perfect blue sirloin, creamy mash, crispy chips and steamed vegetables with just the perfect amount of bite. And the mixed platter of cold seafood that stood out as quite spectacular. But then, for the price I expected no less.

Very nice place, amazed by the perfectly matched-to-food wine list. I have been there 3 times(mostly for business lunches) and I must say the seafood is great and can matched very nice with some interesting sparkling wines. The prices as far I remember were very good and the food very good. You’d go there for sea food. Would strongly suggest it!
