This place is a bit difficult to find, but once you are there it is really nice. I sat at the bar with the conveyer-belt and helped myself to the sushi /sashimi passing by. Some of the plates are very similar colours but prices vary drastically. So be careful if you’re on a budget, as I got caught out. I think this may even be deliberate. What I loved more than the sushi was the hand rolls. I ended getting a few of those as they were so nice.(Visit — 27/07/2015 Lunch)

I love Moshi Moshi. I went on a date there and it was the perfect place for it. Located in the famous Liverpool Street Station, Moshi Moshi is always packed for lunch(almost impossible to get a table), but is pretty calm by dinner. Getting a table for 2 on a weeknight was not a problem. The food is spectacular — I had the beef teriyaki and it was sublime. It’s small and overlooks the train stations. Prices are reasonable, especially given the location. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I cannot wait to eat here again!

I really like the layout and the location is hidden, discrete, and deep inside Liverpool street station. It has that allure affect, probably the fact its at a bus/train station, tons of people around and unsuspecting. Great place for a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. The food is decent, however it was late in the evening, what I first look for in a good decent sushi restaurant is the temperature of the sushi rice, slightly above room temp, and how neatly they pack or shape their nigiris and sushi rolls i.e. symmetrical — usually I find its a good first indication of the restaurant and the chef making it. Here I rate it 6 out of 10. It wasn’t bad, but tasted better. The service was quick and attentive, but the service can be improved, its the type of service you would expect at a large chain restaurant, which slightly brought down the allure I was talking about earlier. The price was city prices, considering its location, I would say fair. To summarise, I do like the restaurant, nice little gem, but would love to see it improve on food and service, to get a four star from me.

We arrived here during the busy lunch hour in a group of eight, without any reservations. But our hostess was gracious enough to find us a place, and that too fast. Ordered a bunch of drinks. The macha milkshake did not go down too well, but that was a matter of pessimism preference. The curiosity cola, on the other hand, was refreshingly different. Our waitress was patient and explained to us what some of the dishes were. The food was good too. Almost half of us went for the katsu curry. They serve it with pork instead of the usual chicken, and I prefer it that way. The presentation was fantastic too. The tonkatsu came in a nice box. Loved the place, and would definitely go here again.

No complaints. I go here at least a few times a week for lunch or dinner as it is right next to my office. Great sushi and value for money. Actually tastes like fresh fish with no fishy aftertaste that you find at other nearby sushi joints.

Update: I forgot to mention, Moshi Moshi has regular monthly special deals — all you need to do is sign up to become a member(find the details on the website), pop in to pick up your membership card, then take advantage! Last months deal(April) was all you can eat conveyor belt such(ALLYOUCANEAT!) for £20!!! This month I think it’s a glass of wine, crispy prawns and a sushi platter for £10 … Go get your Nom On!

A nice place, quite authentic, though a little expensive but that’s less of a surprise when you compare it to other places in the area. Food great, staff pleasant, I went for the sushi bar with conveyor belts was not disappointed.

Really not impressed with this place, food was below average and the service was not great either. We were sat at the window-side seat, and the windows were dusty, pigeon faeces and feathers on the other side, it was rather disgusting. The server kept bothering us, asking if we would like to order something else(not in nice, attentive way, more like Order more things! Order more things NOW! Kind of way). Rice of sushi was overcooked, which is a big no-no for sushi. Tane of sushi(=the toppings) were small, thinly-sliced, knackered and clearly not fresh but frozen. Shouga-yaki(ginger pork) was over-seasoned, with under-cooked courgettes. And when we received the bill, for the quality of the food, it was surprisingly expensive! Could’ve gone to a proper Japanese restaurant, like Roka, for a little extra. Would not be returning there. There are much nicer sushi available in London!

Fantastic sushi. Sit at the conveyor and pick from the delicious options on offer. Order a few dishes off the menu from the helpful staff to complete the meal(the crab hand-rolls are a must).

Moshi Moshi offers 3 distinct services — takeaway, a sushi«conveyer belt» bar, and a seated waitress service where you order from a menu. All 3 are good value considering the quality of the food. The restaurant itself feels a little cramped but the food makes up for it.

Very nicely located: inside the train station and at the heart of the City. Could be said expensive but not if you work around there. Their target is lunch goers and take-aways, but the premises are very, very nicely decorated so it’s also a good choice for(formal) dinner. Their dishes are great too. A great place.

Well I have only had the takeaway here and all of the three dishes I had tasted a bit like bad M&S pre packaged sushi. Being stuck at work on a Friday night and not being able to face the horror of the canteen I popped here for a takeaway. The location couldn’t be better or easier to reach from the CIty of London(up in the eves of Liverpool St station) and the décor is remarkably well done(a bit reminescent of some of the APC shops in Tokyo). Unfortuantely the takeaway was stodgey rubbish. I am not sure whether this reflects at all on the food in the restaurant as there is a *possibility* it is different though I don’t see how. Let’s put it like this, I wouldn’t spend my cash here and I would barely spend the cash of a client who I am expensing it to.

Nice enough place which likes to boast about its green credentials. And why not? The atmosphere makes one feel like in backstreet Tokyo, and even the clear plastic roofing sheets add a little bit of pleasant eccentricity to the place, as well as lots of natural light. The food is pleasant enough, not brilliant, but quite tasty and not bad value, especially if you are a member of its club. But the special offers change every month so please check the offer before you go. Just a comment.

I love sushi and this is one of the oldest sushi restaurants in London. This place recently got revamped and it now looks much slicker. They do delectable salmon skin hand rolls, which is crisp hot salmon skin with green spring onions and cold rice in a hand roll — yum! Whenever I get a train from Liverpool street and it’s about lunchtime I love going here for a treat.

Strangely positioned sushi restaurant in Liverpool Street Station, an incredibly busy commuter station that services the Essex and East London. Moshi Moshi is located round at the back of the station, overlooking platforms, so as your eating your sushi you can watch the trains pulling away from station. Perfect for trainspotters who love sushi! They have a large selection of sushi on offer, with a large non fish selection too. And an amazing desert selection. The interior is nice, with wooden booths, and egg shaped caverns. However, the place is quite expensive. I can only assume that this is due to the location, so be prepared to be shelling out at least £20-£30 a head. They do take reservations, but only after 2pm.

A handy location for a sushi bar right in the heart of Liverpool St Station overlooking the platforms! Take your pick of whether to sit at the bar where you can watch the sushi chefs at work and choose from the conveyor belt of dishes going past. Or, more convivially, if you’re in a group, sit at a table and order from the menu. It’s easier to have a conversation over a table than if you’re all sat in a line at the bar. So I’d recommend the table if there’s more than one or two of you. There’s also a takeaway and delivery service available.

What I like about Moshi Moshi is that it is a few cuts and slices above the average conveyer belt sushi chains. This is evidenced in a fresher tasting product. And they’re quite reasonably priced for the quality. It’s also their attention to environmental awareness with regards to declining fish stocks and sustainability, the fact that offer a choice of brown rice in their bento box and an effort to reduce salt levels in their cooking. The Liverpool Street branch has a lovely yet strange interior with big wooden arcs spanning the high ceilings of the space and comfortable booths to sit in.

Although this place does not excel in any one aspect, the sum of its parts makes a create restaurant. The menu has a wide variety of starters, hot main courses, and sushi. However, one thing they do lack are noodle dishes. However, their rice and their sushi sets are quite good value for money considering it is in Liverpool Street Station. They have a conveyor belt if you prefer to see your sushi before deciding, but they also have seating areas for groups of 3 – 4. The prices are rather reasonable, and they do a discount for sushi off their conveyor belt after 3pm Mondays to Fridays. Service was prompt, and waiter was courteous, although not very enthusiastic. The food took a while to arrive, but it was probably due to the fact that we got there at 11:30am when the restaurant just opened. They also offer a range of takeaways that are alot cheaper than eating in, and are good value if you’re stuck at Liverpool Street Station or working nearby. In conclusion, there are other Japanese restaurants that are cheaper, better quality, or have better environment, but none are an all-rounder like this place.

Sometimes, when I’m on my way home from London, waiting at Liverpool St station for my eternally delayed train to take me home, a thought strikes me: if it’s on or around lunch– or dinner-time, and I can’t be bothered to cook anything, I can pop up to Moshi Moshi(round the back of M&S above platform 1) and get myself a £7.50 «Stamina» set to take away(2009 update: this is now £8.50 and renamed to the mystifying«German Bight») — they even replace the prawn nigiri with salmon for me, which I remain almost pathetically grateful for. This place does delicious eat-in food, which although a little expensive(the take-away is better value) still offers an interesting and tasty selection of hot and cold delights, including yummy soba noodles. Moshi Moshi are committed to using fish from sustainable sources, and they’ll also give you a choice of white or brown rice for your dishes, if you’re on a health kick. This place is one of the reasons I’m never that bothered when my train is delayed — unless it’s after 2230 when Moshi seems to close. Then the pacing and sighing starts, especially if I’ve read all the free papers.
