Wow I love this place! Staff: friendly and kind! Food: authentic, tasty and filling! Atmosphere: relaxed, and chilled out. I’ve been here a few times now and always love the experience. Their traditional coffee service is a must must try as well. I’m local to the area and this is a new regular spot for me.

Despite the pretty drab streetscape(the wholesale kitchen stone supply can’t compete with the charm of LASSCO around the corner), this restaurant just brightened up my day. I had lunch here on a wet Saturday and was the only table for a while, but the proprietress kept the music on and the atmosphere cozy. Families stopped in to say hello to her, while I gorged on a massive plate of injera and different dishes in the back. Definitely try the traditional tea flavored with cardamom, and if you can, split one of the two-person selections with a buddy. We had an amazing array of vegetarian and meat dishes with an ample supply of homemade injera. The standouts were the lentil stews and the lamb dishes. While I wouldn’t come by for dinner, this is a great stop to fill up(and trust me, you’ll leave well satisfied) and warm up before a day out.

My husband ordered Ethiopian and I ordered Thai. Both were very good. I would certainly recommend. Service was very friendly. Handicapped accessible is a very big plus!

Really loved the décor which gave me high hopes for the food. I wasn’t disappointed. But let me begin with the service— my server was really nice, attentive, and knowledgeable. The food was typical Ethiopian cuisine. I had injera, wey wat(beef), ketfo and deliciously seasoned chickpeas. My companion had the sauteed lamb. I had just a small taste of it and it was very good. Definitely would recommend this place if you’re ever in London and dying for Authentic Ethiopian food.

Wow, one of the most fun places I’ve eaten in a long time on my travels. The food was wonderful(I love Ethiopian food), the service was friendly and the ambiance was fun on a Sunday night. First The Food: I walked about 4 miles to get here tonight, and so had worked up a little appetite(and expectations) so I told the waiter/host to give me whatever the cook wanted but that it had better be good :). He brought out injera with 2 beef dishes, a lamb dish, 2 vegetable dishes and a lentil dish. It was all awesome. I couldn’t have been happier. The Service: Well, they were just nice friendly people. The Ambiance: This was a bit of a surprise. The joint is a bit of a hole in a wall, and as I walked in I was a bit leery. It was empty with a bartender and 2 – 3 people sitting together at a table in the back. Over the course of my 45 minute meal, however, the local protestant church let out and about 10 couples, and a bunch of kids all showed up(regulars apparently on Sundays) and the place was full of kids, laughter and fun. I’ll come back, that’s for sure!

Having had Ethiopian food on several continents, I pride myself in being somewhat of a Habesha cuisine snob. I found this place through OpenTable and only because they also serve Thai food. How bizarre! But then some of my best Korean food ever was decades ago in a Swiss and Korean replace in Berlin. Yes, fondue and bibimbap! We had a little trouble finding the place due to the illogical numbering system of the houses. But once we were here, we were relieved and enthralled. We ordered off the Ethiopian menus which was quite extensive. There were only two of us, and, as usually, we ordered too much. For meat we had the regular kitfo with aye band the awaze tibs. The kitfo was perfect, raw with niter kibbe and just the right amount of mitmita. The Ayer was obviously house made. The awaze tibs were also delicious although perhaps a little overcooked. We also had the veggie combo. The miser wat was superb. Even the mild veggies such as the kik alicha were flavorful. And the gomen actually was made with collards, not spinach like often in Europe. The injera was also good. Service was delightful. And we had a choice of several Ethiopian beers. (I did not try any Thai food here. I am also a Thai food snob! But at our current main residence, we get great Thai but only mediocre to poor Ethiopian. Therefore, our choice today! Definitely a winner!
