This place was a highlight of our food experiences in London. The mezze platter was HUGE. Four adults had trouble then finishing our sizeable entrees because we pigged on the mezze! Their outdoor courtyard is a real hidden gem. It was so peaceful and quiet! Service was perfect to match the delightful cuisine. If we are ever back across the pond and near Islington, we will pop in again!

This is a great restaurant i have been frequenting now for a few year it has a fantastic Mediterranean menu all the food is very fresh and full of flavour, the portion size is good I doubt you will leave hungry. Good wine selection to complement the food, and a friendly inviting atmosphere makes this a place you will keep returning to again and again.

Unpretentious and yet, not too slimy/grimy, Harman gets extra points for its location adjacent to the Archway station, which to be fair, is not exactly a fine dining hotspot. At least, not yet. The service is very friendly, seemingly very efficient and helpful. The Adana kebab and Iskender kebabs were delicious with the right spice levels. Exactly the way I remember it in Istanbul. The starters are very well priced, but the portions are also accordingly sized(meaning don’t expect American sized portions). The rice that came with the kebabs had distinctly less butter than usual(whether in London or Istanbul). Ok, so maybe an emerging trend to move towards a healthier meal. The bill, which came with three pieces of Turkish delights, at £20 per head, including a bottle of wine, was a fair deal. I’ll give this one 3.6(rounds up to 4) because the food wasn’t infinitely memorable, but I’d go back for more if I were in the neighbourhood.

Archway is where I have been born and bred, and over this time I have seen many food places come and go, none delivering the fundamental essentials that a successful restaurants should. Harman have cracked the code and have been here for some time now, they sit among the local chicken and kebab shops, however they provide food that is deliciously filling yet not overly priced. The Meze starters consist of the usual hummus, tzatziki and other dips, however they come with a warm, freshly baked flat bread, that is unbelievably good. I have had a number of mains from there now, and can not chose between the Lamb shanks or Chicken shish kebabs(cooked using a charcoal grill — makes ALL the difference). The service was excellent and the restaurant its self was decorated well. No more than £15 a head for starters, mains and a well deserved tip. If you are ever in the area, try this gem of an eatery, YOUWILL adore it.

I’m never going back in here again. Went in quite soon after it opened but unfortunately it was about 3pm or 4pm and the staff weren’t interested. Gave them another go a couple of months ago. Ordered a Turkish omelette, which sounded quite nice from the description. Unfortunately I was very hungry and had to wait AGES20 or 30 minutes or something and asked them how much longer my food would be. Meanwhile there were about 4 very happy looking couples chatting away at various tables who had been there when I turned up. As I sat there it dawned on me that all but one of these were still waiting to be served. One table was eventually served. Then a woman came in, sat right behind me and was given a lovely looking plate of food straight away! About 5 or 10 minutes later the waiter put a really disgusting plate of watery, partly uncooked, and curdled egg on my table with a sullen comment too. I’m not sure how it’s even possible to make an egg dish both curdled and barely cooked! It didn’t taste very nice either. I can cook scrambled egg with tomatoes and peppers for myself and a lot more nicely that this! I was hesitant to eat it given that it appeared to involve raw/barely cooked egg but I was starving so I did eat some. Happily I didn’t get food poisoning. They certainly won’t be getting a third chance! Nasty.

Great service, wonderful food, one of the best value restaurants in the area! I’ve never been dissappointed here, and I would recommend this place to anyone! My favorite dishes are the koftes, but everything I’ve tried at Harman has been great!

LOVE this place! Can only reiterate the good things from the previous reviews. Cheap, tasty and good portion size. I love their falafel wrap with chips and salad for 4.95. Ask the lovely waitress for chilli and garlic sauces — they’ve got a good kick! Yum, enjoy.

I agree with Leon. I found myself in this area last night and was at a loss for something good to eat. Harman saved the day. The food was good, abundant and cheap. All rarities in this town. The service was prompt as well. The décor wasn’t kitchy or cheesy either. Dinner for two with apps(no booze but they sell it) was 30 pounds with tip. Not bad. Harman is one of those places that makes it okay to get lost in London. I will be back.

I like this Mediterranean restaurant with its authentic feel and Turkish eyes hanging all over to ward away evil. The place is pretty large and although in quite ropey Archway the clientèle seemed nice. The menu was quite extensive with a range of breakfast and more traditional Med’ foods such as meze’s and kebab wraps. The plus side is the cheapness. Cheeeeeeap! I love that word. There were starter meze’s for £6.95 an dfull English breakfasts were less than a £5. I went for a lamb wrap that was served with fries and a decent salad. It cost me £4.95 and I was happily content afterwards. This place has a nice feel and if I am ever in the Archway area, this would be my quick lunch time eatery of choice.

A really good selection of Turkish and mediterranean dishes. I had the Adana kebab which came with a nice salad and home made chili sauce, it was like having a lamb kebab how its meant to be, rather than some rubbish you get when drunk on your way home. Great choice of meze and not bad desserts, although I’d not recommend the apple crumble, keep it traditional, get Baklava! Everyone liked everything we ordered and the bill came to about £16 per head, which included 3 courses and drinks. Will definitely be going back soon.
