I first heard of Heart Aflutter when I came across it in the Love Lust List, a listing of wedding suppliers curated by the awesome Rock My Wedding blog. I was intrigued. After all, it was in East London and therefore local to me, and it stocked a number of designers that other boutiques didn’t have, including(at the time) a Singaporean designer. So, it gave me the opportunity to not just support local to my London neighbourhood, but to also support local to my country of birth! So, I made an appointment a few weeks in advance(it’s busier now, and rightly so) and popped down one Saturday morning to try on some dresses. Cecilia, the owner of the shop, was absolutely lovely, taking out some dresses which we had spoken about before the appointment, and also taking out a few others which she thought would suit my tastes. I tried them all on, and shortlisted two dresses: one which didn’t suit my requirement of being white but which I loved how it draped, and another which I loved, but decided to think about(given my ‘7-day let’s think about it’ philosophy when it comes to shopping). I didn’t get the dress in the end, but that’s how wedding dress shopping goes. At no stage did I ever feel any pressure from Cecilia. She’s passionate about what she does, and loves to support the people she works with, which is evident from her posts on Facebook as well. I’m truly regretful that I didn’t manage to get my dress from this boutique, but I have been wholeheartedly recommending this to my friends, particularly those looking for something different.
