Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Deliciously simple and well done. The steak was nice and light, sashimi and sushi roll was fresh. Hit the spot after a long flight.

A new pan Asian restaurant in Islington London is always worth a visit. I ate the prawn summer spring rolls and they were served with delicious sauce. My friend had the prawn cakes. This was followed by traditional Pad Thai which was just the right flavour and served with juicy prawns. I had the Teriyaki Salmon with rice and salad. I liked the dish but feel as though the rice should have been Japanese rice rather than Jasmin rice. Loved the food and will go back. They also serve a nice lunch menu.

What a wonderful unexpected experience. Hoja is a new pan asian restaurant located on upper street dealing in all major asian cuisines, primarily chinese, thai, vietnamese and japanese. Normally I’m thinking exactly what you’re thinking. A place that does all these cuisines can’t be any good. And that’s normally true 80% of the time. However Hoja is one of the 20% and here is why. The place is quite small but intimate and accommodating. The staff were excellent and helpful. Asking whether we’d like our food to come out in courses or all at once. We opted for all and once and courses came out until our table was full and new courses sat down when we could find the room on our table. The food itself was good, I wouldn’t say amazing, but the sushi was stand out excellent. Well presented(insta-worthy) and delicious to boot. I would definitely recommend the bulk of your meal to be sushi as apparently they have a dedicated sushi chef in-house. The rest of the dishes, noodles, squid, summer rolls etc would good but portions maybe a tad on the smaller side. I was here with a taste card(50% off) so it was still good value, but perhaps if I were paying full price I might have been a little disappointed. This said, even without taste card, prices are very reasonable. Sushi maybe a little on the high side, but it was excellent at 50% off. In all we ate a lot and didn’t have room for dessert. I would definitely come back as it’s difficult to find a good sushi place in London that either doesn’t bankrupt you, or be really far away. In all if you have a taste card, this venue is a no-brainer. If without, choose your food items a little more carefully.

This cute café style sushi bar has delicious food and not only their sushi! I was surprised at the food quality, taste and presentation, especially considering the price. Good value! Great find! I’ll be back for sure.
