We happened to go here during the winter. It was COLD and damp, there is no indoor seating. The food took 25 minutes for ONE crêpe. The area is a bit creepy and this place is difficult to find. Skip it, there are much better places in town!

Crepes are one of the most versatile street foods you can get. They can be sweet, savoury and have all sorts of ingredients inside to make them unique. That’s why I normally have pretty high standards when it comes to them. I had heard a lot of good things about House of Crepes in Gabriel’s Wharf so I thought I’d give it a go and try their crepes for lunch. I went for one of the savoury ones, the chicken, ham and pineapple one, as pineapple is one of my favourite things. However, I found the crêpe to be disappointing. The crêpe base tasted very bland and rubbery, the chicken was dry and I would swear the pineapple came out of a can… While I can’t say it was totally horrible, it’s a level of cooking I expect from a friend and not a professional. Especially since I’ve heard people say these are some of the best in London, I definitely think those people have to try what good crepes taste like because they are missing out. While the location of this place makes it a very good option to sit outside and enjoy the sun, food wise I would not really recommend it.

After the crepes in Paris, this place just doesn’t cut it. It was ok but I definitely wouldn’t waste my daily calories for this again. Nice people tho.

Brilliantly fun stop on a Nov eve after an afternoon at the TateModern. My 6th old spotted this one while walking back from the Tate on the night of the lord mayors feat. The girls had nutella and whipped cream crepes and I had some spinach and ‘shroom. Outdoor seating was simple but ample and elegant with the lights around. Perfect cap on a fun eve.

Gariel’s Wharf, as you’ll see in my previous reviews, is an odd little bit of the Southbank — a mish-mash of places like this, boutiques and gift shops. House of Crepes is a brilliant creperie for those on the go or just wanting a very light bite /quick snack. I was always addicted to Nutella on pancakes and they do Nutella on a crêpe here. Wow… My favourite snack available on the Southbank — heaven! They also do lots of savoury crepes but the Nutella option really is my favourite(I’m a bit of a sweet-tooth!). A great creperie — highly recommended, yum, yum!
