My work booked a breakfast for 8am for 10 of us, and many of us were extremely disappointed. First, the service was sooooo slow. At first we were the only table in here and we’re paid little attention to. Three other tables arrived during our time here and they were served and left before our food arrived. Our food took forever to come, and when it did arrive it was very cold. One colleague also was kept waiting for about ten minutes after the rest of us got our meals, and all she ordered was toast and fruit. If you’re considering coming here, skip it. You’ll have better breakfast at Pret. My eggs Hemingway was cold and gross, so I couldn’t even finish it. Will have to stop somewhere before I head back to work so I can get some edible food.

Unfortunately my second visit to Hush for a team breakfast went no better than before — actually it was worse! We booked a table for 8am and when I arrived at 8.05 they hadn’t event opened up! We were then seated by a friendly waitress who offered to take rucksacks and coats the cloakroom(I thought we were off to a good start!). Immediately we were asked if we wanted to order although only half our group had arrived. We asked for the complimentary coffee(again a nice touch) and were offered cappuccino, americano etc. My colleague opted for americano but I stuck with a filter. This then took forever to come! We then moved on to ordering our breaky. The waitress continually made funny comments to people’s orders which I think was meant to be friendly but actually made us feel a little awkward. It all began to be brought out in reasonable time but to they got my order wrong. She apologised, gave it to me and said my correct order was on its way which did come out in record time! I went for the waffles which I think was a big mistake — a shop bought cold waffle with blueberries plonked on top. The pancake stacks looked massive however the bacon wasn’t crispy and the pancakes apparently not fluffy. A colleague also ordered the porridge with apple compote on top which came to a staggering £8! When we asked to pay the waitress asked each person to come up individually to the till, which I can see would make it easier to split the bill but she was so bossy and rushing us it made for a horrible way to leave the restaurant. My colleague who ordered the americano was charged for this(there was a mix up between what is complimentary and what is not), the waitress did take it off the bill but not after telling my colleague that SHE should be clearer next time — errr I think your staff should be retrained on the rules? Overall the food was okkk but the service really let it down!

We did the bottomless brunch, which comes with your choice of different kinds of bellinis. The bellinis didn’t really taste like much other than prosecco, except for the watermelon one. The watermelon Bellini tasted like an artificial flavoring. If you order the bananas with honey and nuts, it’s like 4 bananas chopped up. I would suggest the avocado toast instead. The best were the desserts. The 4 different ones we had were all good. I suggest just going for dessert.

The perfect spot for breakfast. I found myself too early for an event nearby, and having missed breakfast in my quest to beat the rush hour traffic was very happy to find myself with a half hour spare for a coffee and eggs. The coffee was generous and smooth, and the eggs florentine the perfect size for breakfast. Filling and tasty, with a delightful little jug of hollandaise on the side(my preferred way to enjoy the dish). The staff were all helpful & charming and the food arrived quickly and well presented. The loos downstairs are clean and spacious, and extra points must be given for the audiobook playing whilst I made my ablutions — ‘Winnie the Pooh’! A lovely little spot in town, a mere stone’s throw from Holborn tube.

Just down the road from Holborn, inside this is an upmarket style restaurant that has a contemporary modern feel with low lighting. We sat at a table next to the window which gave us a nice view across the street to the beautifully decorated building across the road. We had amazing cocktails at happy hour prices, half price so you could mix and match. The food was well presented and tasty, cooking steak to perfection. I’ll be back to try out the unlimited brunch deal at the weekend with bellinis.

Went here with a friend as she had a taste card and the Mac & cheese was GORGEOUS! Only criticism of this is that there wasn’t more of it. I was a little disappointed with my burger though. I asked for medium and it was very rare yet burnt on the outside. On the whole I was happy and would go here again

I was with a friend and we were looking for food. We walked by Hush thinking this might be good. It wasn’t until I sat down to check in when I saw the star ratings. Damn it. It’s not looking good. I wanted to have a light dinner so I decided on having a simple Caesar Salad with Grilled Butterfly Chicken Breast. Sadly, this had no taste whatever and it lacked dressing. My friend had the Spaghetti with Tiger Prawns which was actually quite good. Not bad for a quick bite to eat for lunch or dinner, but it’s definitely not a restaurant that you would go out of your way for.

Chit, Chat but don’t Chug! Hush is close to where I work so I’ve been here a couple of times for Drinks, once for Dinner and once for Breakfast. It is GREAT for Drinks. Not if you are looking to start a wild night out but if you are looking for a good glass of wine and a nice chat with the girls it is the place to go! Also nice for a nice romantic dinner. I had the King Prawn Pasta. Perfect proportion. Pretty good. Not so great for breakfast. One poorly baked croissant is 2.60. If you really want a croissant just head to the Paul’s down the street. The coffee is delicious but it comes in really tiny cups so it is really not worth ordering!

Just a quick review as I have eaten here before in September 2012. The service is the same good standard as before, friendly and helpful. If you search around and find a ’50% off food’ offer it makes it worth a trip, otherwise at full price, at about £30 pp(2 courses) it’s pricey for what it is. The food is tasty and of a good standard, I enjoyed the bang bang chicken as a starter and the liver & bacon as a main course. One word of warning which is nothing to do with the restaurant itself, is that the ‘health and safety nanny state’ has instructed the restaurant(and all others I’m sure) to only serve this dish cooked to a minimum of medium or higher. So if you used to enjoy your liver medium rare, then bad luck!!!
