Lovely place and it’s hard to think of anything negative to say. The bread and olive oil served for snacking are excellent as was the octopus with chorizo and green sauce. The fish too was well seared and cooked, and went perfectly with the side potatoes and spinach. And the crème brûlée ranks as one of the best ones I’ve had with its soft and sweet vanilla core and brilliant caramel layer on top. Overall, such great and consistent food, all packed with subtle yet highly pleasant and distinct flavors. The service as well was on point, brisk and upbeat, and the lovely décor and ambience complete I Robert as a perfect restaurant for both casual and business-related evening dinners. And all of that for great value? Five stars well-earned.

Incredibly good and yet surprisingly affordable. Good atmosphere and fast attentive service. I sat with a party of 4 and everyone absolutely loved their food. Burrata appetizer was fantastic. Pork cheek was incredible. Veggie lasagna was splendid. Lemon Sole with capers melted in our mouth. Overall a high quality restaurant with reasonable prices and superior service.

We are staying in Mayfair during a brief trip in London. We could not settle on a restaurant based on online reviews, so we went for a stroll and looked for what might be appealing. We stumbled on this place and decided to go in. Very impressed. The food had that fresh light touch that very good Italian has, but with some nice, innovative flourishes in the food that brought it to the excellent level in my opinion. The service was quick, helpful and attentive without being intrusive. The restaurant space is bright and cheerful. A wonderful meal. The I Robert website describes the restaurant as ‘a neighbourhood restaurant for hungry locals’. I would agree that the general feel of the place corresponds to that description. But I think that the description undersells the actual quality of the restaurant, which transcends neighbourhood Italian. Recommended.
