A very pleasant Italian experience with attentive staff and thoughtful and well constructed dishes. The Rabbit Ragu with my Tagiolini pasta was light and allowed the natural flavour of the meat and vegetables to come through. Pork special was great and again well constructed. All in all I would recommend a visit if you are looking for a nice mid-range authentic Italian experience delivered with care.

What an absolute find, bringing innovative concept dining to W1, go for the edible experience more than the visual experience which is less dramatic. It is really the staff who set the restaurant apart, on my last visit we started a war with pizza dough, several waiters jumped on the tables brandishing ciabatta sticks, now that’s entertainment!

Pappagallo proved to be a wonderful surprise, with inventive, delicious dishes at great prices, which will definitely bring us back. The star of our supper was the main course. I had the wonderfully tasty pear and cheese ravioli in a beetroot and poppy seed sauce. It was much more interesting than the standard cheese, tomato and other vegetables with pasta that make up the veggie selections at most Italian restaurants, and the flavors went surprisingly well with each other. My partner had the lamb ravioli with sweetbreads in butter and sweet sage sauce, which he said was even better than my dish. We also tried a salad and the cheese plate, which we were really happy with. And we got a decent-sized bread basket with an endless supply of olive oil to snack on, too. Though the restaurant’s décor was pretty sparse an uninspiring, it’s clean and there’s enough space in its two small rooms to be comfortable. There’s also a room for private parties upstairs and two tables outside.
