This is our go to Italian restaurant in the neighborhood and it never disappoints! The food is always amazing, and the staff are friendly and professional. I honestly can’t say one pasta dish that I haven’t loved!

Very, very good Italian food. Great service and nice atmosphere. We had salmon with a dill cream sauce and«Chicken Supreme» It was a chicken cacciatore with special peppers and seasoning, great. Salad large enough to share. Wine with a reasonable markup. Tiramisu was better than most.

Delicious food: well cooked, tasty, hot and plentifully. Wonderful service: almost so speedy it made my head spin — ordered drinks which were on the table within 30 seconds, and the staff took our order — including special requests — immediately with a bright smile! Food was served 15 minutes(which I consider a minimum for freshly prepared food), and also witha smile. Very tasty, awesome service!

I must have been having a bad week when I visited several of my recent reviews, because repeatedly I went with a group with reservations, and we were rather unceremoniously kicked out at a certain time that another group was coming when we didn’t even know we were supposed to be rushing. Il Borgo was one of these places, and on top of the rest of my experience, it didn’t really suit them well. I’d like to think this is a very authentic restaurant, but from the food my friends and I all had, I generally found it to be good, but unflavorful and certainly taking way too long to arrive, given we were having a late afternoon meal and it shouldn’t have taken long at all. Additionally, service wasn’t very frequent, making it difficult to keep the meal moving at a good pace(despite the apparent deadline we had). It’s a long way from home for me to Il Borgo, which means unfortunately I’m not planning on going back. It’s not a really bad experience, but I think you can probably find much better Italian places, if that’s what you’re looking for.

If you’re staying in a hotel near Gloucester station, this is a great find compared to the many hotel related restaurants. A small quaint Italian restaurant with very personalized service and great ambiance. The walls and ceiling are art work and nice to muse at. The Penne Stappazzato was outstanding. I had a slice of my colleagues Pizza Vesuvio and it was equally delicious. Order the Brunello at the bottom of the wine list, you’ll not be disappointed, an equally balanced front end and back end on your palate and a perfect compliment to the pasta.

Little Italian joint near the hotels around the Gloucester station. The flat garlic bread app that comes with your meals is amazing. The Italian bread is soft and creamy. The mains, however, were sort of dull. I had the mushroom and ham pizza. It was okay nothing that would drag me back there again. The boss seemed to find his lasagna uninspired. The nice romantic interior and the breadbasket do help. But I can’t say I’d come back here if I came back to London.
