healthy indian… that’s two words I never thought I would use together. However this place is surprising as they pride itself in making healthy Indian food. Décor is pretty elegant, and never so busy so you wont risk waiters being too busy. Food is very delicious. Portions could be little bigger, but the advantage is that you can order more than starter and main dish per person. Butter chicken is the best I ever had. Samosas are light and crispy pastry on the outside and absolutely fantastic tasting meat filling. They could serve bigger portions of naan breads. Its a lovely place to visit.

I think it’s amazing that an Indian restaurant can cook without butter, ghee and cream and still have it tasty and delicious. When I went, we ordered garlic naan bread perfect amount of garlic on it, potato samosas which weren’t too spicy served with the typical sauces and chicken curry and the sauce was delicious. I also had their traditional rice pudding which was also excellent.

Kudos to Indali for having the guts to cook indian food without cream, butter, etc. Def the most healthy Indian restaurant I have ever been to(I am Indian myself). Unfortunately, I realized that all that cream, butter, etc is absolutely necessary to savor an Indian dish. The food was not bad, but def not a great Indian restaurant experience. You just have to have all the unhealthy stuff in your dish to get the ultimate experience… I can’t say that enough. The only part I really liked was the mixed grill appetizer. The meats were very succulent and flavorful. I just do not think its enough for me to go back.

Simply bad choice. No organization at all and the food was tasteless. I Don’t recommend this place or at least don’t expect a lot from it.

I just went to Indali Lounge for a business lunch. It was very quiet(we were the only customers in there, which initially made me nervous). However, based on colleague and Unilocal reviews alike, I felt sure it must be worth a shot. If you’re looking for a standard, lard-tastic Indian, don’t come here. Indali Lounge is all about the healthy, flavoursome Indian food that I’d experienced myself in Kerala a few years earlier. The lunch menu is bloody good value at 11.00 for two courses. Not 5* because a lack of ambience and I think the service could have been better(the waiter didn’t know the difference between 2 dishes, when asked), but the food was really very good. If you’re in the area and looking for a quiet lunch, you should hit this place up fo’sho.

I have no idea why people have rated this restaurant so highly as I was not imposed at all. I chose to eat at this restaurant based on the rave reviews I read on both this app and the tastecard one. I must say that now I’ve eaten there I am deeply disappointed as my expectations were set so high. I’m not usually one to leave bad reviews, but the food we had there was unlike any other curry I’ve.had before, and not in a good way. The food was bland, dry and overpriced. I couldn’t even finish the meal and left more than two thirds on my plate because it was that bland. The prawns were flavourless and even the dips that came with their poppadoms were dry, if that’s even possible. The byriani came with some strange and horrible tasting yoghurt sauce, rather than a curry sauce. I understand they’re trying to cook healthily but surely healthy does not mean bland??? Needless to say that I will never be eating here again and I do NOT recommend at all!

I’m erring on the side of being nice – if I could give it 3.5 I would. We went here for dinner with my in laws and 8 and 10 year olds and ordered 3 appetizers and 4 mains. We tried to stick with the menu items that were marked signature dishes. We all agreed the food was good though the appetizers needed some dipping sauces and the main course needed less sauce and more chicken or lamb. Overall a pleasant dining experience in Marleybone. The staff was friendly and the setting was Indian posh. The restaurant is big and it was probably ¾ full. I wonder if they are ever to capacity. They had a fun looking lounge area that I bet is fun for after work drinks.

Buffet was pretty tasty and very reasonable in a swanky setting.

London – town of many a good curry. Definitely add this one to your list. This is not your typical corner curry job. The lounge is swank, the lighting low and the food is healthy. You wouldn’t know it by how it tastes though. Everything is Sybaritic and divine. It tastes like it should be bad for you, but they cook without a lot of butter and cream, which makes the dishes light and flavorful and allows the delicate mixture of spices and flavors to truly shine through. Everything was first class, from drinks, to starters to mains. Though sadly been to full to make it to the deserts. Highlights are the Goan fish curry and the garlic naan. The bar area is a nice intimate spot for an after work drink. Highly recommended.

Thought the restaurant was really nicely decorated and despite our party being an hour late the staff were brilliant. Good selection for veggies and meat eaters alike. We had a set menu and had so much food that I fear it stopped being healthy! The lamb rogan josh was incredible and we had free top ups of rice and breads Usual surprise of excessive service charge but good value for money for really impressive dining experience

The rumours are true this really is healthy Indian food. I never thought there was such a thing after the ladles of oil that I am accustomed to when eating out at Indian restuarants. The tasting menu is excellent value for money with a good variety of curries — kofta, potatoes, lady fingers and paneer. Instead of the roti, we ordered the naan — without ghee of course — so it felt and tasted very healthy. The tuummy space had run out by the time dessert came along but the gulab jambu looked delicious. I would say its better for a more corporate dinner rather than an extra special occasion. On the whole a wholesome, relatively guilt free experience in Indian dining.

I had a very tasty lunch( ) here. I think Ms Mole’s below statement that«if you want a curry, but don’t want to feel bloated and unhealthy at the end» to consider Indali is spot-on! It’s a lovely restaurant too. I’ll keep it in mind for special occasions. It’s not cheap but then again not totally extravagant(expect to pay around £8 for mains). Ultimately, the meal I had here could be described as delicious but maybe not quite as yummy as other curry experiences I’ve had in London. However, I am willing to explore the menu further just in case I’ve missed something particularly scrumptious. For the lactose intolerant and those seeking a healthy and well above average meal in a gorgeous setting, keep this Baker Street restaurant in mind!

The Evening Standard called this the healthiest curry house in the world, I’m not sure I’d go that far, but it was certainly fresh tasting and with no apparent dependence on ghee to bulk out the flavours. The masala prawns as a starter were light with some subtle lemon grass touches and the chicken kebab type things were also fairly tasty. For main course I had a muttar paneer which had a lot more of a tomato flavour in it than I was used to(which ever so slightly made it taste of Heinz cream of tomato soup), but it looked nice. There was some weird sounding rice which sounded more like a yoga position than a dish on the menu, but sadly it wasn’t being served at lunch. So we had to make do with pilau and saffron rice instead, which was fine and we had a good selection of naan and other indian bread. The desserts for me, made the meal. I can’t normally fit in a dessert after a curry, but because the whole meal was ghee & butter free I was able to sample the delicious mango kulfi, and a beautiful carrot dessert plus some more traditional syrup soaked Indian desserts which were light and doughnutty in texture. It’s not been open long but I’m sure will become a popular spot on Baker Street, if you want a curry, but don’t want to feel bloated and unhealthy at the end.
