So here goes my first review update ever, and it is well deserved! This has now become an established business on Baker street and a regular haunt for me! Prices are very decent, the shelves are now fully stocked and the business is growing into it’s skin. There are a few reasons I updated this review: 1. Met the business owner and he is a great guy, had a long chat about him and he is really passionate about what he is doing and what he is offering — even remembers my name :) 2. As mentioned, the place looks fuller and has a much wider variety of food on offer than when it first opened — pretty obvious really, I am a bit of a fool for thinking it wouldn’t be 3. They have AMAZING curries on offer at lunch. I mean, AMAZING. Apparently they won curry of the year last year, and it would certainly have my vote. Actually, off there right now to get one — you should all come join me!

It all started with a debate at our office on how to pronounce the name of this lunch place: I — as a non-original English speaker — pronounced the«ou» in Nourish as you would pronounce«ou» in the word«tour». My colleague — such a jerk — made fun of me and said that the«ou» should be pronounced like in «flourish». Well, after this heated debate — which continued well into the afternoon — I simply had to go to Nourish(in my head I’m still pronouncing it my way) and check out this place. When I went there, I right away was steered towards the salad bar and my eyes were very surprised to detect red beans(Azuki beans) there, which I usually only associat with sweet pastries from Chinese bakeries. The owner caught my bewilderment and we had a lovely chat about the beans’ use in a savoury environment, such as this salad bar. I hence filled up my salad box with all different kinds of vegetables and loved the fact that I was able to pack so much goodness into it and still only pay under a fiver.(This salad-bar experience is so much more fun than going to nearby«Tossed» or «Vital Ingredient» — trust me!) Later that week I went back to Nourish along with my «language-particular» colleague; he — in fact — had been enticed by the owner to try out their curries. Turns out we both really loved them: he had the«Butter Chicken», while I went for the«Chicken Jalfrezi» with a generous dollop of chickpeas. We very much enjoyed our meal, while sitting in the downstairs restaurant and him trying to teach me how to speak English properly…

Yes! First to review! Getting harder and harder in London with all these prolific Unilocalers running about!!! Nourish has just opened on Baker Street, amidst chain after chain after chain after chain, ok you get the point. As far as I can tell it’s NOT a chain. I’ve never seen another one, so unless someone tells me otherwise(I tried to search for a website, didn’t find anything) — I’ll believe this is a good old independent shop. Popped in with a colleague for a quick lunch. Having noticed it on the way in, I thought it would be worth a try. Pleasantly surprised! They have a cold bar and a h
