This is the sister restaurant to the original Inn Noodle restaurant near Tottenham Court Road Tube on Oxford Street. Its claim to fame is that Gordon Ramsay came here in one of his Cookalong Live TV programs to challenge chef Wei Fang for the Guinness World Record for most bowls of noodles pulled in 3 minutes. Gordon lost. As you can tell from that fact and the restaurant name, the house speciality is la mein — pulled noodles. You can watch the chef producing these in the shop window — successive pulling doubling the noodle count with each stretch. You won’t get any noodles fresher than these as they’re cooked instantly. They also produce Sichuan street food like dan dan noodles — noodles with a spicy sesame sauce, siu loong bao and chilled soya milk. Another curiosity trumpeted on the front of the restaurant is that it’s gone halal — no pork on the menu. A first in my experience on 4 continents — a halal Chinese restaurant. So a lot of interesting facts but food is so so
