Royal Hyde Park Hotel

There you can find a quite cheap place to sleep but anything more than that.
The room was barely clean, the corridor was completely damaged, the dirtiness hidden by towel on the flour. yuk !
The breakfast bread was mouldy. yuk again !
The only thing I appreciated was the air-​conditioning because the street is quite noisy so you can’t open the window.

This is a no-​frills hotel. So no frills, that I had a difficult time finding the hotel because it has door like any other London flat, but with a sign above it denoting it’s for the hotel.
Once I found the entrance, and climbed up a flight of stairs – warning: there are no elevators at this hotel – I made my way to the check-​in desk. Check-​in was a breeze: sign a slip of paper, grab the key and you’re on your way.
The double room was just big enough for the bed and the two side tables next to the bed. It was adequate for sleeping, but you probably wouldn’t want to spend too much time hanging out here. The bathroom was quite small as well. I don’t think I’ve seen such a small sink in my life! The major disadvantage here is that there is no where to set your stuff while you wash up. So when I was trying to take my contacts out for the evening, I lost one of the lens case caps down the drain – luckily it was safely retrieved.
The location of the hotel is actually quite good. Your only a minute’s walk from the Bayswater tube, and about five minutes walk from the Queensway tube. Notting Hill is only a 15 minute walk, and Kensington High Street is only a short walk away as well. Plus, there is plenty to see on Queensway itself.
Another bonus, if you will, is that a continental breakfast is included in the price of the hotel. However, the hours for this are quite strange starting at 8 a.m. and ending at 9:30 a.m. I only got to enjoy breakfast here once during my three-​day stay.
If you’re OK with the bare minimum in a hotel and you’re looking for a hotel with good transport links, then this may be one for you. However, if you’re looking for the royal treatment, keep looking.

Very small dirty room, even smaller bathroom without hot water, only one towel per person, very basic continental breakfast, paid wi-​fi with poor signal.
