Many restaurants were closing early for New Year’s Eve, so we were happy to discover this place open. This is more like a fast food Japanese restaurant here in London. The cold items were in a self-serve refrigerated section and the hot ordered at the register. The typical London weather made me a little snotty, so I had the detox miso soup. Delish! Full of ginger and noodles. So good! The service was friendly and they offered a mild spicy sauce, which we were happy to see since spicy food was nil in England!

I had a soup here that I thought was pretty good. It was quick and easy.

Had lunch for the first time here today. Service: I was seriously impressed by the service here. Despite being as busy as a lunch hour will be they managed to live up to their promise of service within 60 seconds. Picking up pre-made food at the side and taking it to pay was a breeze. The staff were friendly and adept in their dealings with me. Food: The cuisine at Itsu is East Asian inspired so lot’s of noodles, rice and sushi. The food I had — chicken soup with crystal noodles and the crab california sushi — was delicious. The chicken soup was tasty with a generous amount of chicken and noodles with nice green, fresh vegetables. The california crab sushi was very tasty while having a pleasant light-bite feel. The food was easy to eat while being satisfying and the calories for both came in at just over 400(if counting calories is your game). Seating: Despite being busy I was able to get a seat at one of the communal tables with enough room to be comfortable with ease. I definitely want to try the rest of the menu here and would recommend to anyone who likes Asian food and would like it for lunch. Top Tip: If you’re coming out of the office late Itsu do their food for half-price in the half hour before they close so from 8:30 — 9pm at Finsbury Park.

Asian version of Pret-a-manger. The food was ok with a good price tag, great if you need to grab a quick bite or size up a first date and don’t want to spend too much money on your date. The service was good, and they have 2 prices, 1 for sit down which is £2 more and then take out. Overall, good for a quick bite.

This is a close call between this and Wasabi, which is opposite. Itsu does similar foods, price is the same, the restaurant is bigger though, service is good, the quality of the food is first class. I enjoy the noodle soups, which are DELICIOUS. So you are lucky having the two of them in the same locality, ITSU does have seating out site, so during the summer its really nice. HIGHLYRECOMMENDED.

I LOVEITSU. «big smile, small tummy» decent portions for reasonable prices? does it get any better? they have an assortment of noodle soups, rice bowls, and sushi platters. perfect for those cooler london days. and its healthy! during lunch time the place can get crowded but you chose and pick up what you want then pay. the whole proces is actually quite fast. however, if you do want a table, it gets filled quickly so you might be out of luck. but i definitely come to this place often when i’m here!

It’s January and in these straitened economic times, i think it makes sense to amend my calendar and simply call January, ‘Soup’ such is the need to detox the body, mind, spirit and wallet from the excesses of the preceding few weeks. But I think that such a comment gives Itsu a disservice as, truth be told, Itsu is good all year round. For a major chain, the food is surprisingly tasty. Trust me, when you’re living in a major city food retailers will often do their best to get away with the bare minimum, so it’s a nice tastebud surprise to be met with as-near-authentic-as-possible Japanese seasoning. Am loving their yummy sushi and ‘froyo’(frozen yoghurt) too, though the consistency of the latter can sometimes raise a worried eyebrow. My fave dishes include the Chicken Potsu and the Prawn rice bowl. Both hearty fare, that’ll stretch the shekels in your pocket if money’s too tight to mention or Old Mother Hubbard’s cupboard is looking a bit empty at home. Itsu is a culinary speedy food gem in big, bad London city. The service is efficient without being pushy and the use of light and white in the space is suitably swank. It all helps to create that comfortable feeling of ubiquitous hygiene. I like this place as it’s doesn’t take the Mickey out of your wallet. More please.

Love the tuna and salmon tartare and Veggie dumplin Udon noodles! I would love to know what they use in their miso stock — to die for xx

My only gripe with Itsu is the fact they supply only fork alternatives to chopsticks, not knives. An unnecessary cruelty… or just their little joke. For this reason, if you aren’t a chopsticks maestro, I wouldn’t recommend coming on a date to this Japanese eatery. Their salads and soups are out of this world, bursting with zingy shredded veggies, fish and imaginative zesty sauces, but easy to eat they ain’t. The food’s stringy nature(noodles, whole green beans etc) lends itself to a shovelling-it-in eating style. After one recent lunch visit to this branch near my work I found an assortment of greenery nestling in my front teeth. Not a good look. That aside, Itsu is my favourite lunch stop and rightly popular. Apart from the sushi, their hot pots are particularly yummy as well as my personal favourite: salmon with sticky rice, coriander, carrot, noodles and more. For healthy, low fat fodder the food here is surprisingly delicious and filling. Just make sure you have a mirror handy afterwards.

How could you not love a restaurant that tells you: «Health…because itsu food is light, full of goodness and won’t make you fat. Happiness… because it tastes amazing. You can eat lots without guilt, sorrow and pain.» Brilliant, why don’t they open an outlet in Manchester’s Hattersley council estate, cheer up some sour faced, spotty teens! Alas not, Itsu prides itself on serving a delicious selection of sushi and salads to the more affluent inner city districts of London. This lovely outlet in Finsbury Square has often provided a tasty refuge for me, when I get off the bus at the wrong stop. This happens often, but I am justly rewarded with a happiness– inducing maki roll and a confused head scratch. Video link:

This Itsu restaurant is located in the City of London, near to Moorgate. It offers Japanese food to eat there or take away. The take away option is very popular at lunchtime and there are long queues of people waiting to pay. The food: There are good sushi sets(most of them with salmon) and also other dishes like vegetarian or meat based ones. The prices are average but it is easy to spend more than 5 pounds because the interesting sushi sets are around 7 pounds. They also serves soups: miso and noodles, and natural juices. The menu doesn’t change very often and this can be a bit boring if you buy your lunch there once per week because you end ordering almost the same always.
