Jane Roe Kitchen

Sometimes you want to stroll the food market and eat standing up and pay cash and drop food all over the street.
And, sometimes you want to sit and enjoy a nice meal on real plates. For that my dears, take a little peep into Jane Roe Kitchen (right on the edge of Whitecross Market, Old Street).
My brother and I came for a midweek lunch and enjoyed every bite. The service was super prompt (great when you only have an hour!), the food great (pulled pork sandwich and a chicken caesar salad), and everything ran like clockwork.
The pizzas look pretty special, and the menu is full of great options from sandwiches, salads, pizzas and lighter starters. Reasonably priced as well — we had 2 bottled waters and the 2 mains and it was just £22 with service charge.
Yes, you will be able to eat cheaper than that at a food stall — but sometimes the weather demands you grab a place inside, or social conventions and lack of napkins encourage you to enjoy your lunch at a place like Jane Roe Kitchen.
Recommended, chill/​casual and great food. What’s not to like?

My favorite is the Galloway pizza. The burgers are good as well. Such a steal for the price! I always clean my plate when I eat here.

Oh wait? I haven’t written a review for that place yet? I’ve been there for a late lunch and tasted a delicious pizza. The area is full of good places but if you are in a mood for Italian food, stop searching, you found the place !

Great food great service great music what more do you want! The chocolate tart is to die for!

This is a nice neighborhood burge and pizza bar with serious quality ingredients. I ordered the smokey burger which came with chorizo on top and a nice portion of chips. Really good to soak up the city drinks I had been at. The staff were very friendly and did not rush us out even though they had clearly closed for the night. Pizzas looked really good as well. The drinks menu consisted vedett beer on tap but otherwise was very Italian– wines, negronis, and other bottles of Italian beers.
Overall very unpretentious and quality focused. I would hesitate to call it a destination restaurant but for those who want to head north for food near the city and avoid shoreditch or the plethora of chains and kebab shops, it’s a good place near old street for a £15 beer and burger.

Blah. Bruschetta is tomatoes on hard toast. Fries were mushy. Disappointed. I should have skipped dinner

This is it! — The best Pizza in London. No doubts.
We’ve been in Italy. Many times. Too many times. We thought we had best pizza in North/​South in different parts of Italy, but this place have The Best Pizza.
Will come back for sure. Many times. Too many times.

The quality of food is wonderful, and the friendliness of the staff is equally great.
We have sampled the following:
* Regular plain hamburger = Delicious. Our 18 year old son devoured it and wants to go back.
* Margherita pizza = Delicious. Nice and fresh, hot, good size.
* Smoked salmon salad = Delicious. It was the daily special and it hit the spot.
That part of the area has a nice vibe, and the restaurant is right on the corner and just has a good «feel» to it.
Finally, if you get a chance, try the lunch specials Mon-​Thurs til 15:00. An example right now is a Margherita Pizza with soft drink for £6.95 — the other pizza choices are Brie & Caramelized Onion, or Ham & Mozzarella.

It is always a good sign for a restaurant that serves Italian food, that a lot of Italian speaking people eat there. This is certainly the case for «Jane Roe kitchen».
We had both burgers and a pizza. All burgers and the pizza were excellent. I certainly recommend going there to eat.

This place offers really affordable and extremely spectacularly tasty food! Both their pizzas and burgers are delicious and if you’re feeling like a salad — you can get that too. You can have your meal accompanied by wine, or why not get a pint of lager? I definitely recommend this place!
