Excellent Thai food however the service is below average. Three of us decided to pop in for midweek impromptu dinner. It was only half full but was packed by the time we left. They didn’t have any of the papaya salads mentioned on the menu and that’s exactly what one of my friends wanted… we ordered fried tofu to share and 3 main courses. The mega spicy fish dish that my mate got was great and as hot as you can imagine. Sadly my food was nowhere to be seen(chicken green curry) and our other friend’s main never showed up! We asked for the bill as soon as I finish my chicken and asked them to remove the 15% service charge. They took the order and only brought two thirds of it… bad, bad service. Oh and there was no real apology besides a «sorry about that» as they took our money away. Now you know why it’s never full full!

Great food and relaxed service in a low key casual place. We weren’t rushed to vacate our table, even thought we had one of the larger tables. There’s not a lot of seating, so come early-ish. Delicious and traditional dishes, not just the crowd-pleasing favorites.

Having been here countless times, I felt it was only fair to give props where it was deserved. It’s billed as «Thai Street Food» but only because«Thai Home Cooking» doesn’t market or sell as well to your average punter. The food is among the most authentic in the city(though not painstakingly so, like Heron) and other astute«reviewers» may point out they have pad thai on the menu — but come on, they’re a family run business on Brewer Street. They’re not going to pay the bills on the mackerel curry and corn cakes alone. Janetira fulfils the wishes of every newly-worldly backpacker who has dragged their arse down Khao San Road, and those curious to try dishes that actual Thai people might eat. For the latter, moo ping is excellent and the corn cakes are great. The egg starter is lovely, and they have morning glory(stop sniggering at the back) in starter or main portions. Then there’s the larb and sizzling steak — glorious, flavoursome and generous. The mackerel curry is delicious but almost inedibly spicy — challenge your one dumb mate to try this and you’ll enjoy an evening laughing at him(and it is a him, because women have more sense). They even had a super-Asian omelette on rice(and we Asians do love this) which I had to order because I couldn’t finish the mackerel and was still hungry. Servers are like your mate and aunty in one — helpful and friendly. I’d happily direct anyone who prefers Rosa’s over this to the nearest Bill’s for a portion of quinoa salad with their Basic Bitch.

Excellent quality and good selection of Thai«street food». It isn’t literally the same things that you would find on the street in Thailand, but more like things you would find in a small casual restaurant like khao soi. But the food is really good and a good(albeit small) example of the variety of Thai food that exists beyond pad thai.

Really enjoyed my visit here. After a great Jay Raynor review I had high hopes. It was a busy Friday evening and I didn’t have a reservation so was lucky to get the last table for two in the small restaurant. We were given an hour thirty for the table as they had a later reservation but that wasn’t a problem. The restaurant was modestly decorated but better than usual thai style décor and the place was nicely buzzing. Our service was quick but also friendly which was nice considering it was full. Great to see some unusual dishes on the menu as well as the old thai favourites. I was too scared to order the mackerel thai curry even though it’s getting a little cult following as it was way too hot. We ordered delicious corn cakes and tasty moo ping(?) pork skewers for start and a papaya salad and a Ka nah crispy pork and rice. Really lovely tasty fresh food. My boyf was a bit disappointed as the pork was on the small dish menu and he could have ate more but that was his fault. Four bottles of Singha and the above £52. We will return!

Great place for lunch… properly authentic(imho) Don’t miss the mackerel curry… it’s super strong and spicy,(better for sharing I think) Pork belly, son-in law balls(!), som-tom, sticky rice and great iced tea coffee. Fun and friendly staff B.Y.O hammock.

This place is definitely not my favorite thai in london because there are quite a few that i absolutely love. we did get in on a busy saturday night so plus for them. But the service really sucked. the highlight was the food: som tum, seafood, massaman curry, egg over rice(YUM), and a few other items. The thai version of a scotch egg is def something i would suggest, its unique to say the least ;) all in all, okay food but i would only go if there is nothing else available or open at the time.

This place is billed as Thai street food… we weren’t quite sure what that meant but decided to check it out. We were able to just walk in around 7 pm on a Saturday night, which was fortunate because the place was relatively full. We all ordered the Drunkhead noodles(drunken noodles is the name I normally know them by) with prawns, which to our great surprise came within 5 minutes of ordering. I’d say it was fairly average… presentation was poor so it didn’t look all that great, and the prawns were scrawny and still had their tails on. Don’t know if that’s part of the street food vibe, but I think this is a good shout if you’re in a hurry but I prefer Rosa’s in Soho overall.

Authentic Thai place, friendly service with a simple but fresh menu. Lots of unusual dishes. I had the pork offal soup noodles and fried chicken wings. Both were very good. This is a really good place to go to if your after something off the beaten track and authentic Thai food. I recommend this place for couples and small groups after an informal meal. Go there soon!

busy thai place. Food was the pretty standard stuff and service was OK. The wine we ordered came with 5 different starters for an extra £1!
