What a great little place, it’s like being in your own cosy kitchen. Mind you, I went on a Friday when it was dead quiet and even then the service seemed a little slow. It looks like it might get overwhelming when the market’s on. Today I had two poached eggs with toast. Only one turned up at first, with an apology, the other one hadn’t cooked through evenly so they were busy with another. I’m quite happy with that. My friend had bread with sausage. They’ve got a lot of fare like that. All good, reasonable prices. I’ll definitely be back and will try out the delicious looking cakes too.

Jone’s Dairy was a vacation destination for my girlfriend and I. We split an English breakfast and absolutely loved the homemade beans and the hearty bread. We had a lovely conversation with a couple of the locals who found it amazing that a couple of American tourists chose to stay and spend their tourist dollars in the East End. We were really here for some cheese and to shop for traditional English goods. I love Jone’s Dairy and the East End. Stop by if you’re at the Sunday flower market or Saturday’s Broadway Market.

Shhhh… This cute little dairy shop and café is a hidden secret. Not any longer! if you are planning a trip to the flower market and it all gets a little bit too much for you, head down Ezra Street where you’ll find Jones Dairy, a cute little place to grab some tasty snacks and fresh juices. Jones dairy use to be a working dairy until Mr. S Jones passed away. It was then that his wife and family began to run it as a full café and shop. I have to say I really love this place but I won’t 5 star it because I don’t want you to go. I also don’t want to give you any false ideas that this place is perfect. The service s a little odd. Slow and awkward would be the words I would use. But still, that adds to it’s charm.

Fantastic array of ready to eat and take away morsels. Used for tv 20’s — 40’s period dramas often. Best for breakfast.,.

They make fantastic toast! and a tasty bacon buttie. They source their food locally and from small producers. But the service really made it difficult to enjoy our meal. We went on a Saturday morning, which is nowhere near as busy as their Sundays must be, given that they’re adjacent to Columbia Road Flower Market. I pray for the people that order a full breakfast on a Sunday. First off, the coffee arrives in its French press and my tea arrives. They haven’t pressed the coffee, so we’re not sure how long it’s been brewing. To push or not to push? We’re sitting outside, enjoying some rare sunshine. There’s sugar sitting on another table, but alas, no spoons(or any other means of getting the sugar into the coffee and then stirring it). So I head indoors to request a teaspoon and am told quite curtly that they’re currently out and will bring me one.(Well, why bring us coffee if you’re out of teaspoons? or at least please don’t be curt afterall, we did wait 5 minutes for a spoon to appear) After similar incidents with: cutlery for B’s hot breakfast(which was mostly cold by the time he received them), tomato sauce for my buttie, and the cat licking the butter when we wandered past later on. Well, I have a very hard time recommending the place. Mind you, it could just have been a novice server which caused most of our strife. So instead, I recommend asking for takeaway, as the toast was tasty. And get the tea or a prepared coffee drink. Prices are steep, though typical for these sources of food. Four quid-ish for the bacon buttie, 9 quid for the hot breakfast.
