Really lovely coffee shop on Hackney road. Super friendly staff and a clean, relaxed environment. Like most places in this part of town, the food seems a bit on the pricey side, but worth it!

Had full English, tea, and take away macaroon. Breakfast was perfect portion, egg was sunny side yellow goodness. One slice of toast, one banger. Beans, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes. Pesto around the side. Yummy! Took macaroon to go as afternoon snack, it was coconut with slightly sweet hard shell. Would definitely eat here again on next London visit.

Long white cloud is one of those cafes that looks innocuous enough, being flanked by a convenience store and something else, but step inside and you’re greeted by all the hipster goodness you can possibly imagine. Just a little way aways is Columbia road flower market, so after your Sunday morning flower shopping, it’s a great place to stop off for a strong cuppa joe, that’s as tasty as it is caffeinated. Definitely a must visit café if you’re in east London, do note that it’s really crowded in the mornings!

First time customer, read all the reviews before stopping by and was surprised by how rude the staff was. I was not even acknowledged when I arrived and I had to hunt someone down to look at me and tell me where I could sit. I wasn’t offered anything to drink and everyone seemed so pretentious. I was clearly struggling to find out what to eat as everything was unfamiliar and the cashier woman seemed very impatient and not helpful. Food was good which is why I gave it the 2 stars but service was not satisfactory. This is where«organic» restaurants get the pretentious reputations from.

Good coffee, fresh juices, funky space. My wife and I stopped in after getting our asses kicked by Danny at BASE Fit in Boxpark(which I just added to Unilocal and you should all check out) and enjoyed a quick cappuccino, with beans by Monmouth, and a juice. We’re pretty picky about both — I think we’re beverage snobs? — but Long White Cloud did them justice. The juice went a little heavy on the celery, but was otherwise very fresh and healthy, and the coffee had the signature Monmouth richness. The staff were all very pleasant, and there were plenty of people flowing through and chowing down on everything from pastries to full English breakfasts. The space is light and casual, with some funky art hung somewhat haphazardly, but it all goes with the mildly boho charm. We’ll probably stop in again for more coffee and maybe try some food next time.

Ok, so Long White Cloud does a lot of things well. We came for a lovely breakfast and that’s what we got. It was clean, quiet, they had a nice range of items written on a chalkboard. It’s easily a place where you can get a coffee and pastry and be happy or do a full meal. I did the avacado on toast with halloumi and nothing amazing but nothing horrible either. Tasty, well priced, a nice morning meal. However, they murder French Toast. And not in a good way. French Toast should be battered bread with sweet syrup fried up. But they have some sort egg monstrosity which is sweet bread with eggs covering the bread. Not just a batter, not just a line, but a fried egg facemask for the bread, which is nice if you’re looking for eggs and french toast mashed into one meal, but a little weird if you’re looking for French Toast. But not bad, I still enjoyed it and had a good time and a nice breakfast.

I came here for the first time for brunch. We stumbled upon this place because the original restaurant we were going to brunch was closed. I’m glad I got to try a new place, but was a bit disappointed. I ordered the French Toast but when it came, I quickly realized it wasn’t true French toast: it was eggs on toast. Seeing as how I only eat eggs cooked in a batter, one could understand my massive disappointment. When I tried explaining this to the first waitress, she was quick to respond that’s how they do French toast. I picked at the fruit and bacon(which was delicious) but still hungry, so I went to the cashier to order some Sourdough toast and jam. I then asked the French toast incident and asked if they could comp the toast I was ordering. They did, which was nice. I just wish I didn’t have to ask, but I’m glad they obliged. The toast was sweet and the jam was organic and perfect. The service was speedy and the place is cute and cozy. I would potentially go back, but I definitely would go for something simpler, like the sourdough toast.

I love this place! If it was on Shoreditch High Street, it would be twice as busy and expensive. It’s a hidden gem on Hackney Road. It’s very airy, with a relaxed casual atmosphere. Feels Australian almost. They serve Monmouth Coffee and they make it just as well as the actual Monmouth store. I always get their soy lattes, it’s my favourite drink. The food is just so good here! It’s dependable and high quality. I respect any place that serves a good avocado toast and oh they do, with scrambled eggs and chili. I also recommend the smoothies and orange juice as they’re made fresh. The quality is so worth the price you pay here. I come back at least once a week. I love it and wish it was closer to me.

Sitting directly on my walk to work, LWC provides a very decent caffeine top-up. With Monmouth coffee on offer it’s hard to miss really but they’ve also really nailed the selection of snacks, sandwiches and cakes. Flatbreads, toasted sandwiches and freshly baked pastries line the counter, waiting to send any taste buds into orbit. Worth sneaking your head in and if you’ve been to Oz, or are in fact Australian, THISPLACESELLSTIMTAMS!!!

This place is great for just coffee, or for a healthy, tasty lunch. They normally have a few sandwiches on offer, and each day they do one meat frittata and one veggie one, which you can get with a selection salads. I’ve had these a few times and have never been disappointed. Long White Cloud also serves breakfast, and while I haven’t tried the full English, a friend ate one while I was having coffee, and liked it.

I wandered lonely into Long White Cloud That floats like froth on a cappuccino When all at once I saw a crowd A host, of golden pain-au-chocs; Yeah. LWC has become a nice little breakfast+working spot for me — reasonably cool, pretty large(not that you’d think it from the exterior), several powerpoints, and wifi gratuit. What’s not to like? Also — would you believe it — it’s run by some peeps from the Southern Hemisphere, complete with a mini Aussie home comforts selection(Jelly snakes and vegemite mostly). To this point, I’ve had their garlic mushrooms on toast and the veggie breakfast, both of which have been very good(Bristol’s Café Kino sent me on a bit of a veggie binge) with decent sized portions. I think I’ll have me some cake next time I go too. The coffee is fine — the first time I went I had a rather watery long black which put me off for a while, but recently they’ve been pretty good. It’s not world beating, but they use good beans and they don’t ruin it. Overall, definitely a semi-regular spot for me — worth popping in if you live in the vicinity. I’ve also just noticed right before pressing ‘post’ that Linzi played on Wordsworth way before I did, but because I spent much longer than I’d like to admit on it, I’m going to keep it, I’ll just credit her with being way more ion it than me.

I wandered lonely like a cloud… Nope, actually I ran-walked into Long White Cloud in a rush since I was über-late. This place is an oasis of cute Kiwi attitude in the middle of the often times dubious Hackney Road. It’s bigger than it looks from the outside with plenty of seating and big chalkboards to order from. These Kiwi coffee masters are always wasted on me as I drink americanos and not long blacks, but my coffee was good, and strong. Trays of savoury pastries and cakes were calling out to me as I waited, ‘eat us, Linzi’, don’t we look delicious?‘ Quiet, pastries, I won’t tell you again. The brunch menu looks amazing and I am dying to go back and try it. They always have a wall of New Zealand treats that you might be missing from back home.

Located a few minutes away from Hoxton railway station, Long White Cloud is a Kiwi-owned, free-range, free-trade café-cum-gallery space which serves up interesting brunch-type meals such as smoked salmon scrambled eggs and french toast with bacon and banana. It was pretty filled at 11 in the morning, but not enough to gather a queue. The interesting thing about this café is the fact that they display local artworks which are also on sale. When I was there two weeks ago, Kate Ardern’s intriguing ‘Into The Wild’ paintings were up on the walls, most of them already marked as sold. I got myself a full English breakfast, something I realised that I’d not yet actually had in this country. It was filling — I think the word ‘full’ applies to the state of the diner’s tummy rather than what’s on the plate. The food was alright, the beans felt home-made and authentic though, definitely not Heinz. What still lingers in my mind is their peanut butter and banana smoothie which is so simple but so good. It wasn’t too sweet, and both flavours were balanced beautifully, inspiring me to try blitzing my own sometime soon. They’ve got an evening menu as well with the likes of pies, burgers and fish cakes. I’d love to go back there some time soon to chill in their intimate setting with some French toast and bacon!

I made Long White Cloud my waiting room… As much as I love to hang out in a dog grooming salon(nearby Groom Dog City), I don’t. Especially because my dog shakes and looks as if I have sent her to a gas chamber, when it reality I just want her to stop shedding blankets of dog hair over all of my clothes, bedding, floors and surfaces. Really, she’s fine. And I need a cookie. Anyway…yes, so here I landed. At the Lovely Long White Cloud. An oasis on the otherwise bit gritty Hackney Road, LWC looks like a coffee shop, but in fact has an absolutely lovely array of food offerings, sweets and some fantastic ladies that will bring it to you. More of a café/bistro, as their overhanging sign would elude to… and they are most assuredly open for dinner, til 10pm. Apparently it gets quite lively in the evening. I love the name. Whimsy. Very clean loo. Double dark chocolate cookie. Broccoli Stilton soup with crunchy bread. Fresh brewed iced tea(made without annoyance!) Free wifi(ask them and they’ll politely bring you the chalkboard with passcode) Comfortable rustic tables, artwork, bright and long Real meals. For next time: Monmouth coffee + Muffin deal(3.50) Vegetables! Squash. Yum. Breakfast. Let me bask forever on the Long White Cloud. I’ll be returning for more than an hour next time, and for more than just a spot to kill an hour…

Great little café, really nice staff and very chilled out place to go for a chat or get some work done. I had an excellent flat white and some really good carrot cake. So good in fact that the icing came in a little bowl on the side so you can chose how much you want. Big bonus, considering carrot cake often falls down on having too much super sugary icing! This icing, wasn’t too sugary at all and had some orange peel through it, yum! I would have rather been able to get a coffee and bit of cake for under a fiver(I paid six including tip) but I guess that’s rare these days. At least they really look after their food/drinks — all the savoury stuff looked very tasty too. c*

Do you ever feel selfish with your fave spots? Good thing it’s the holiday season so I’m feeling in a particularly generous mood. The gift you’ll receive is in the form of a tip: 151 Hackney Road. Go here. Onward Donner and Blitzen and… you! Staff is supah-dupah friendly(must be imported from down undah), the vibe is relaxed(some people working, others reading, others recovering from night-out), and the décor is charming(art for sale on the walls, Aussie products on shelves, wood tables). The food is what gets me. A properly strong Americano. A just-right-levels-of-sweet mocha. Soft scrambled eggs with tiny shards of hot green chilis atop crusty buttered toast. Vegetarian full English breakfast. Muffins. And, my favourite breakfast option: a nutty muesli topped with plain yogurt and grated tart granny smith apple. Kiwis, apparently, know how to start the day off right. Double bonus points for being open and restoring me after a holiday night-out on December 24. Unilocal note: you ask for honey or peanut butter… and they bring you the whole dang jar /bottle. No tiny plastic pre-packaged serving. No awkwardly wondering if you can ask for more. Nope. Long White Cloud has you covered, as if you’re visiting the kitchen of a good friend(with a stocked pantry).

I was seriously impressed with brunch here! I would go so far as to say it was the best breakfast food I’ve EVER had in London. I had the garlic mushrooms on toast — so much flavour! And my brekkie chum had a full veggie fry-up — which I snacked from — amazing! I also had a proper healthy smoothie with beets and carrots — I could tell it was doing my poor body some good :) Can’t wait to go back!

I stumbled across this new café on my way to work. It’s now my fav place to get my morning coffee fix(and they even make«flat whites»). Oh… and they also make London’s BEST banana bread — a must try! The staff are super-friendly and the walls display a array of ever-changing art installations. So, to me, it covers off all my «loves»!
