Hearty cheap portions and a decent selection of options led to me choosing to eat here ahead of the cheap eats at the nearby Wetherspoons that I am more accustomed to. I would recommend the café for a cheap feed if you are in the area. I had the chicken curry and got twice as much as I get if I order the same thing at a café near my office, but the price is pretty much the same.

I’m a little disappointed that there isn’t a ‘greasy spoon’ category. For anyone who doesn’t know what that is, it’s a café that fried everything it serves withing an inch of it’s life! Joseph’s Café is one of many down the high street but this one, I have a real love for. On many Saturday morning I have walked the short journey down towards this greasy haven. The food is surprisingly tasty and the portions large. They will put any items together to create your ideal breakfast, even if the waitress will scowl at you. That’s another thing that is great bout this place, the complete disregard for the customer. Saying that though, the service is fast and you do get what you asked for even if it is a creative interpretation. The ketchup is vinegary and the décor very pine but the classic London café charm fills this place and my heart every time I visit. Definitely recommend on a lazy weekend for cheap eats but not really to woo the one you love. Now don’t go reading this review and thing you have to trek all the way across London for this fantastic London experience, you can probably get it from many other cafes dotted around London. What I do love the most about this one is that it is mine! If you do decide to go, the closes station is Rectory Road and there are quite a few nice shops to have a mooch around too.
