I was reminded just how much I love karaōke this weekend, after spending a couple of hours here with 11 girlies on a hen do. Even though our booking was extremely early by usual karaōke standards at like 5pm, we all still got involved, out of tune and proud, without needing the kind of warm up drinking sesh that some of my other friends would definitely need! This place is pricey, as expected given the prime central location, at about £140 for two hours in the large max 12 room. I think it’s a little more later in the evenings but have special deals on quieter days. The song choice is great and you can search by artist or song(though it doesn’t separate the two). They had everything from golden oldies to current chart tunes already(the closet Beliebers were happy *ahem*). It does the job well — the mikes worked, the room was a good size and you don’t need much more than that! Have kept at 4 stars as I think the room layout could be better — some coat hooks would be really useful to save space and avoid spillage, as the place they suggest you put drinks isn’t very practical.

If you like your karaōke in private rooms, with expensive drinks and strictly punctual time-slots then this is the place for you. Come bearing fistfulls of money that you hate, because you’ll be parting with it. The staff are friendly, and will gladly hand you the bill. Not much room to boogie, so you can wear your most uncomfortable shoes. How convenient. A positive — the karaōke is all automated, making it a breeze to search for ABBA’s entire discography. Multiple mics for crooners who love a duet, and comfortable couches. Another positive — location. karaōke Box is in the heart of SOHO, stumbling distance to a bar to suit any taste. Karaōke Box could genuinely be for you, but you will pay for the privacy, where an open karaōke night at a pub would give you all the same kicks for free.

We were only here for an hour so got singing straight away! The drinks arrived quickly and the tech worked great. The«box» was perfect for the 8 of us with space for some moves. Definitely recommended!

This place is a complete blast. It gets knocked down a star only because it’s a bit pricey for a small room and you’ll probably want to buy drinks too, but it’s worth it if you have a big enough group. There’s a location in The City too, but I’d probably stick with Soho in case you want to continue your adventures afterwards in a more active area. There were seven of us, and we drunkenly sang our lungs out on a Tuesday night until they really kicked us out at 1am, after we’d been the only ones in the place for a good while. It’s easy to lose track of time when you’re singing«Sexy Back» and Elton John and drinking wine… This is a fantastic concept, as I’d only been aware of the traditional, more intimidating karaōke in front of strangers. Karaōke Box gives you maximum singing time, and it doesn’t matter whether you’re good or not because you can just give your friends a private concert(or have everyone try to sing into one mic and/or fight over it).

Eine Karaōke Box also.

Sing baby sing. Karaōke Box is for those who like to do karaōke but only in front of people they know, so they can look like an idiot in a familiar setting. And it is a blast. The spot is on Frith Street but you’ve probably walked right past is. It looks tiny and as you go in, it’s only a small bar in a small rectangular room. You pay for your private karaōke space and away you go. The karaōke room is a brick wall and a screen. You’re handed two microphones and showed how to use your interactive display and away you go. What do you want to sing? Power ballads, 90s jams, white boy rap, their selection is excellent. Hilarious and strange videos play on the screen as you belt out Journey or Queen and it’s a bond experience for all. Rooms are a little pricey. For 7 of us, it was about £140 for two hours(and it was a minimum of the weekend for two hours) but they do have half off specials on Sunday and Monday. And without a doubt, the night was memorable.

The service was european… so not good. But the tech was pretty slick. Touch screen list of songs without the need to punch in numbers from a big-fat-karaōke book sorted by song/artist. Who knew the brits were so technologically advanced! Tip: Go and order two rounds at a time and service won’t matter.

Years have passed since I ventured to Karaōke Box. They were closed for ages doing the refurb(what did they do?) and I allowed myself to be seduced by Martha’s fancy cocktails and clean floors I returned this week like a feckless husband– disenchanted with my young lover and craving the comfort of home. Oh KB how I missed you. Yes, it’s chaotic/drinks are too expensive and the whole place could do with a good deep clean but somehow it’s more fun than the arrivistes. More bawdy, more giggly and less po-faced. Admittedly my defenses were down after the early afternoon sake tastingbut I haven’t enjoyed karaōke this much in a long long time. Take a chance on a free room if you happen to be passing –unlikely but worth a shot earlier in the week. + three shots of sake before entering. Works everytime.

Another spot my nephew tried but he found this one not so good. Prices a bit steep but staff friendly enough. Not the best bar for photographic opportunities.

Cheap no-frills singalong fun in this enjoyable and slightly seedy karaōke venue. Call ahead if you want to book this place, although if they can they’ll try to fit you in later if you turn up at the door. Rooms here are relatively cheap and do get a bit sweaty. The staff are quite friendly — watch out for those bar prices, though.

Ok, so I’ve updated my review. The reason, someone’s had a massive shake-up of the drinks at Karaōke Box and they are now ridiculously high. £8 for a plastic cup of gin and tonic? Almost £4 for a can of beer from some former Eastern European country? You Mr Karaōke Box, are having a laugh. With these kind of prices, you’re better off going to another private karaōke chain, where, despite the prices being about the same, they are more potent, and the décor, slightly classier.

My favourite karaōke place in central London for price and entertainment. The staff are friendly and are great to have a laugh with. I got a curly white wig last time I went to get a drink to the shock of my friends, which was awesome! You can book by the half hour, so more people inevitably turn up because of this and I’ve never been and not extended my time there, which is so easy. Book online and you’ll always know what’s available before you go. A great impromptu night out! I highly recommend it for those singers out there.

This is a bargain night out! Take your schoolfriends(they’ve seen you as a teenager, you have nothing left to hide from them), crank up Ra Ra Raspuitin and sing your hearts out! It doesn’t matter if you’re rubbish, you’re in a private room. It doesn’t matter if the words on the screen are not quite the ones on the screen because you’re having the best time ever. My favourite place to karaōke by far!

This was my first experience of a karaōke bar — myself and 4 friends spent 7 hours trapped in a tiny room singing our hearts out in the days when you could smoke also and it was fabulous, dark, dingy we were left too it with a couple of mikes and a tinfoil ashtray. Now though, you have to leave to smoke(ok not their fault) and they shut much much earlier, which is not so fun as once you start singing you usually don’t want to stop. It’s not plush at all which for me adds to the charm. Though BEWARNED! The drinks are not great and unbelievably overpriced. The staff don’t really care about you that much, and the room cost is also quite high considering the quality. But this is one of the originals and as you can book on an ad hoc basis much more fun to turn up too rowdy and manage to get a room for an hour — see is pretty seedy! Not as advanced as say Lucky Voice but I like it for that reason, you can be a bit scummy and really wail away to your hearts content.

Private Karaoki with beer and saki– it’s exactly what it says on the tin! The décor is dodgy and worn and the place doesn’t get cleaned too well, judging by the cobwebs, but if Lucky Voice is a little too expensive, then this is the place to go. I actually found the staff quite rude– maybe he just didn’t like us! In a great location, so you can warm up in a few nearby bars first if required and make a night of it!

No frills just very very good fun. This place is packed out every night of the week and is a great way to have a few drinks and a bit of fun. You book a time slot and have your own room with karaōke machine and sofas. Drinks are available downstairs. I went a few times with work during last year and recommended this place numerous times.

My experience with Karaōke Box was mixed and here is why. I went there there with my work colleagues for our holiday party. To be honest it was the part of the evening I was dreading because I thought I would be miserable. I’m a terrible singer and had never done the private room-style karaōke thing and didn’t expect it to be very fun. But after lots of wine at Ronnie Scotts and then lots of garlic shots(eww, I know) at the vampire bar across the street, I was ready for some singing. And damn, they couldn’t get the mic away from me! I was on fire. So that part was fantastic, five stars. I took two stars away because the people who worked there treated us horribly. The people in our room before us didn’t get out on time, so we were let in about 15 minutes late, but when our time was up they came to kick us out, without apologising or offering to refund us for the portion of time lost. One of my colleagues tried to reason with them but they weren’t having it. It actually escalated into a shouting match and we were physically pushed out onto the street. It makes for a funny story around the office, but I wouldn’t go back. Lucky Voice is right around the corner and everyone seems to love it!

absolutely the best fun you can have in London! me and my girls regularly book ourselves a room, which is really easy to do(if i can do it anyone can!), and get ourselves down there to tear it up on a friday night. the staff are lovely, and will happily bring drinks to your room all night, which definitely helps the singing to get going(at least in my ears it does!). a perfect way to either kick off or end a night, especially if you’ve got a big group together.

what fun fun fun! brilliant for a birthday hen night etc! would definately recommend. only thing is that u have to book in advance and keep an eye on your tab as we found things on our that we’d either already paid for or not ordered. But pther than that its great. They give you your own booth which you and only your friends are in. Its great and you feel like a fab singer which maybe you are. we infact were not! as it showed on our video camera! ha ha.

This place is SO fun. It may not be the nicest karoke bar in Soho but it really is very good fun. It does not have the polished exterior(or interior for that matter) of Lucky Voice, drinks choice is limited with beer coming in cans, the toilets are not great(to put it mildly) — however I fail to see how anyone would not have a great night belting out old and new classics tunes. You hire out rooms by the hour(it does get very busy so it is best to book) — be warned 1 hour is never enough!!!
