I haven’t been to the other Kerb’s — I keep hearing there was one in Kings Cross and Dalston — so can’t compare to the others. I think it’s a great idea — re-purpose a massive warehouse in the middle of no where for street food. Closest station is Hackney Wick Overground however you’re better off taking a bus… the place is in the middle of no where. True east Londoners will know about the place though — it’s by the old peanut factory. Once you get in, the place is huge. Lots of space inside for many food trucks/vendors/bars/etc and seating. There were probably c.10 food stands and a full service bar as well. Lots of seats. It was a bit cold inside so we ate with coats and beanies on … there wasn’t any central heating but they were using butane heat fans so you had to get near one of those to be completely warm. For fun stuff they had a ping pong table which was free and a live band there on a Friday night. No cover to get in which was great. No queues either. Prices were on par for street food prices — bit expensive for what it’s worth — but still a fun experience. Unfortunately I heard they are demolishing the warehouse by end of March for new flats… where will Kerb go next?!

The Kerb clubhouse is located in the old mirror factory on fish island. I can remember walking past a few years ago and being too intimidated to buy a mirror — how times have changed for Hackney Wick! The clubhouse is(as you’d expect), a big old warehouse, with a bar and a bunch of food trucks. Pretty much the same concept as street feast in Dalston, but all indoors and with a better beer selection(although less choice of food vendors) As fish island is off the beaten track, it’s not absolutely rammed, even at 8pm on Friday night — meaning quick service, but it was busy enough to have atmosphere(and we had to wait half an hour or so to take over a bench for 6 people). I’m giving this 5 stars as the location is amazing(for me at least!), it’s indoors(so great even though it was raining), and the music/entertainment was good, and not super loud so we could converse. I’d definitely come here over anything in Westfield or street feast — expect me to become a regular!
