This hotel is possibly the worst run hotel I’ve ever encountered. My reservation was cancelled not even 24 hours before my departure. When asked why this was the woman on the phone said they had overbooked. I pointed out that this was not a smart way to run a business and asked for help finding another hotel. She said everything was booked and could not help me. When I said that this is very poor management, the girl on the phone agreed with me and then proceeded to tell me that they were indeed the worst hotel and I should find somewhere else. I was baffled. Save yourself from the horror of dealing with these people and don’t book here!

Great afternoon tea for a group of girls. Excellent value for money with a voucher but probably wouldn’t pay full price for the food on offer. Overall a nice tea room, very clean restrooms and close to the buzz of Knightsbridge.

I know on TripAdvisor a lot of people gave this place a bad rap. Yes it seems half remodeled… was our ceiling missing from the bathroom… a bit. But the people at this hotel are polite and helpful. I found that British service in general is not the warm and fuzzy in your face cheeriness that Americans have grown accustomed to. They get things done in a calm and polite manner. Our room was surprisingly spacious for Europe. We had a triple room that had 2 separate rooms in the suite so there was a queen sized bed in one and a pull out couch in the other. The pull out was as you expect from a fold out bed… a little lumpy but the bed was highly comfortable. They came and cleaned the room everyday and restocked all the amenities. They provide tea and coffee and a hot water pot in the room with no extra charge. The elevator… er…lift was small and only fits about 2 people at a time but it’s very quick. Taking the stair is not too bad… we were on floor 2 which is actually the 3rd floor(their ground floor starts at zero). The location of this hotel is very convenient. It is a less than 5 minute walk from the Knightsbridge tube station. About a 5 minute walk to Harrod’s and there are buses on Knightsbridge and Brompton(just a short walk through a lit alley) that go just about everywhere in Central London. It’s also a short walk to the east end of Hyde Park. The wifi here is awesome! That may be a given in most places in the U.S. but I’ve found that wifi is not as plentiful in London so it was pretty awesome to be able to have free wifi in our hotel room. Very helpful in finding places to eat and things to do that are off the beaten path. The hotel is also in close proximity to quite a few pubs, restaurants and convenient stores. I really enjoyed my stay here. I docked one star because it is a little on the shabby side but as a general rule for Europe I’ve found that the 4 star hotels in Europe are equivalent to a 2 star hotel in the U.S. so I was prepared for the shabby.
