Came here because of good reviews I’ve read online. Not sure where they were eating. Ordered quite a few dishes and all of them were underwhelming. The grilled meat was dry. Sorry, not coming back.

Possibly the best Bangladeshi/Bengali restaurant in London. They sell authentic Bengali dishes using Bengali ingredients. Must try the fish, haleem and biryani to get a taste of what Bengalis eat for lunch and dinner. Also try the famous street food fosca(panipuri, or phuchka) for starters.

Was looking forward to a good bengali meal. The Chotpoti was good. The sag gosth(spianch lamb) and Kachi biryani were ok, if a little greasy. The shutki bhorta(mashed dried fish) tasted like Malaysian Sambal(which I dont mind but not what I expected). The King Prawn Kolapat was a huge disappointment. While the prawns were nicely sized, they were overpowered by the taste of caramelized onions. Seemed popular among the local bangladeshi populace so was surprised by the lack of quality.

this bangladeshi place(hopefully i am writing a review for the right place) was hands down one of the best meals of my trip(and we went to many places). not too oily, divine taste. i am drooling thinking about this meal. it was not only cheap, but absolutely delightful — very homey. we actually ordered a lot: samosas, bread, vegetable biryani(my favorite)… among others, i can’t remember. i am still salivating, months later. please eat here for me and transfer the good vibes.

This place had a lot of promise and has a distinctive feel and style(atleast in it’s marketing) than the culinary fare nearby. You are led to believe you will be eating quality(home cooked) food in style that is authentic. This place is neither authentic or serves food of as decent standard. Having had Bangladeshi friends and neighbours, I got to taste what real food should taste like. Kolapata is someway off that standard that I was expecting
