My first visit here and they served the man BEHIND me in the queue first, just because they knew him! It was annoying cause he was having a long chat with the staff while I had to stand and wait. They took ages to make my latte, it was in a tiny cup and only lukewarm. Not impressed, I won’t be going back here again, that’s for sure.

I really like the brownies, cakes and drinks sold here as the brownies that contain mascarpone are really good. The staff are really friendly. If you’re in Holborn and have a sweet tooth I highly recommend that you pay Konditor & Cook a visit today

I popped in here for the first time to pick up a cake for the birthday boy. We decided to stick around for some nibbles, and man, everything looked so delicious! The cake bites caught our eye right away. At 1.25 each(or 9 for 9), we picked a few out to try. The strawberry one was good, but the one that stood out to me was the lemon lime bite. Tangy and zesty, not too sweet, hands down it was one of my favorites. Everything else looked so pretty in the store too, but I was on a mission, and couldnt’ ruin my appetite. I had custom ordered the chocolate noisette cake, which was chocolate and hazelnuts. It was super delicious, but because we ate it straight out of the fridge, it was a bit hard. Next time, we will let it warm up to room temperature(with a lot of patience). They’ve also got the Konditor & Cook baking book, which I picked up for a friend as well. Also, contemplating on whether I should try their brownies — but the nice manager decided to give me 4, which was a nice treat! It was close to the end to the day, so i think they might have gone to waste otherwise. Will definitely have to cmoe back again and try their goodies!

Walked to the Gray’s Inn Road location from their new Goodge St. location because the latter did not have hot chocolate(gasp!), and I’m glad I visited this shop! They have a nice indoor/outdoor sitting area and a wide selection of drinks and packaged biscuits. However, you must try the cakes and brownies! The brownies are so fudgey, and their legendary cakes are beautiful. They also sell mini bakes for £1.25, which are great to sample a taste of their cake flavours. I tried the signature Curly Whirly, which was the perfect balance of moist chocolate cake and not-too-sweet vanilla icing. Also, I had to try their hot chocolate, which was pretty good(I don’t know about ‘the best,’ though). Service at this location was very friendly and attentive. I’m a fan of Konditor & Cook!

I really like this chain! They have lunch and baked goods available. I decided to try this location since they were giving our free brownie vouchers with purchase yesterday. Inside, the décor is pretty chic, with a bakery feel and a lot of purple accents. They have seating inside but not a lot, so I would say it’s more of a take-away place. I had a sample of their biscotti, which was rather average as well as a bite of the gingerbread cookie. However, I really really like their brownies. They come in big slabs, with different types and toppings. They also have gluten free brownies available! My favorite is the Fudgepacker brownie. It has chunks of creamy vanilla fudge and drizzles of indulgent salted caramel. It’s rich, fudgy and exactly what a brownie should be. Since the pieces are pretty large(for around 2.50 pounds), I would definitely recommend that you share with a friend since they’re very indulgent! Then again maybe you won’t want to share… Come in for a treat after lunch! I really want to try the lemon chiffon cake next time :)

I ordered a cake from Konditor & Cook for a friend’s birthday. I had done some previous research and was expecting the best cake EVER since it was so highly recommended(via online search). Admittedly, this was pretty darn good cake(curly whirly cake). The chocolate cake was extremely moist and flavorful. I took fault with the icing. It was a pretty cake but that flavor wasn’t what i was expecting. It is definitely vanilla icing but with a mix of cream cheese. I’m not a fan of cream cheese so the icing was not to my taste. Additionally, the icing was rather thick, almost like fondant thick. I removed most of it when I ate my slice of cake.

I popped into Konditor & Cook very briefly to pick up some treats for a meeting I was headed to, but from what I saw, K&C could quickly become a morning tea and cookie shop for me on my way to school. They have a wonderful variety of baked goods, and all of their Christmas items are currently 20% off which makes it very tempting to stop in and pick something for sharing and enjoying. I haven’t had a sit down experience, so I can’t comment much on the atmosphere, but it looked like a nice place to meet and warm up as the weather turns chilly. It’s also a nice option on the Grey’s Inn Road stretch there where there isn’t a whole lot to choose from. Definitely worth repeating.

I love the décor. I love the staff. I LOVELOVELOVE the lemon chiffon cake. Don’t like lemon? Don’t like cake? Hey, don’t like… chiffon? I don’t care. Eat this cake. I bet you’ll like it and, if you don’t, I’ll eat your leftovers. Promise. Unilocal note: though you should be saving all of your calories for the cake that won’t quit(Team Lemon Chiffon!), Konditor & Cook also does a really solid range of savoury foods, as well as lovely pre-packaged hostess gifts(parmesan shortbread nibbles! Almonds! E! T! C!).

I think this was the first Konditor and Cook to open. They make the best cakes. I always buy a whole one to take home for families birthdays. Add to this, delicious, daily changing lunches — including hot meals and prepacked salads and sandwiches and bagged up sweet treats. I love their specialty ranges … Valentines, Halloween, St Patrick’s Day etc. Great eye for design and colour. The branch near me, on Gray’s Inn Road, has very limited seating, so if you want to eat in, get there early.

The prepared hot dishes looked good, but I ended up with a salad and tartlet. The salad was too small, so I needed more food. I think I just ended up spending too much. The tartlet was rich and tasty, the salad – broccoli, avocado, and some greens was a bit underwhelming. They do have a nice outside table and some tasty looking cakes. But also the flow of the ordering, getting hot food, getting cold food and paying was a disaster – I almost knocked out three people. Apologies to anyone that was there at 1pm today!

I’m not sure what’s happened to this place since the New Year but their mocha lattes have gone downhill and pretty fast. They used to be chocolately and smooth but I’ve had two in the past few months and they’ve been watery and bitter. I can’t even finish the one that I bought this morning. It’s that bad. Its a shame really. I used to think that they made the best mocha lattes that I’ve had since I moved to London. Looks like I’ll have to look elsewhere.

It’s not a sit down and stay place as it’s quite a stuffy atmosphere(how hard it is to find a relaxing coffee shop in London!) but for stopping by the cakes are a joy and breakfasts most excellent.

What a cute little shop tucked into Gray’s Inn Road. We were lured in by the delicious looking pastries and cakes in the window, but were pleasantly surprised to find an assortment of sandwiches, salads and hot food as well. Everything smelled and looked amazing, but my willpower was eventually cracked by an amazing Boston Brownie. It took me a good four hours to come down from the sugar-bliss.

After walking past it more than once recently, I finally decided to treat myself to a slice of cake today to celebrate getting a new job(three new jobs, in fact). Yay! The staff are friendly, the cakes all look yummy and it took my ages to choose. I finally plumped for the chocolate and hazlenut, but had no idea that it was wheat free. And even after tasting it, I can’t tell. it’s fabulous. I’ve put it back in the fridge to save for after my dinner, but there’s a bite shape missing :-) Little boxes as well which means that your cake won’t fall about all over the place. You have to spend over a fiver if you’re paying by card, so I picked up some tea which was rather wonderfully called Brewhaha. it’s very very tasty. I like it here. I’m not sure why it’s not getting five stars, it’s missing that«something» but it’s really very very good. I can see myself popping back here when I’m next in the area.

Just had take away lunch there. The braised pork was good, but not unforgettably so. However I can highly recommend the pumpkin pie; moist, not too sweet … a little welcome treat.

It’s so civilized, you’d expect it to be great. The tea and cake just didn’t do it for me. I’d suggest Peyton and Byrne to satisfy a craving if you can’t make your own.

Yeah whatever, I’m not nearly as over-the-moon about K&C as so many other peeps, but it’s good stuff nonetheless. I was pleased today(American Thanksgiving) to see they had a turkey/cranberry/dressing sandwich — which I bought and enjoyed:
But, it was just okay. Nice place on an otherwise barren stretch of Gray’s Inn Road but nothing phenomenal.

This branch of the Konditor and Cook serves up a mean lunch to go. They have some delicious gourmet sandwiches, and a number of hot food items including pastas, quiches, and soups that continue to rotate on a daily basis. They also make a mean coffee, so if you happen to fall to their dazzling range of pastries, cakes and slices, you can have something to lessen the sweetness of it all. Service here is always prompt, efficient and I rarely have to queue to pay or order something. Apparently you can eat in at this branch though I’ve never tried it since it just seems like there’s a continuous stream of people coming and going that I think I’d find it too distracting.

I get my lunch from here at least once a week and try very hard to resist the delicious biscuits and cakes but I keep going back for more! The choice of soups, salads, tartlets and sandwiches changes daily. Not a place to go if you’re on a diet because you can never walk out without a chocolate brownie, flapjack or one of the other heavenly baked goods. But if you’re feeling indulgent, it’s the best patisserie in London. I love their little fondant sponge cakes which come decorated with special messages. You can ask for them to be personalised and give them to friends as a rather original pressie.
