Loved the mixed grill and pasta. Friendly and easy going place. Love the location, feels like you’re no longer in east london.

We arrived a little earlier than they began serving dinner, but we ordered a few drinks and looked at the expansive menu until they were ready for us. Since we had to wait so long(not their fault at all) they brought us bread and oil which was also delicious! I ordered the ravioli aurora, which I looked. It was a little heavy on the cheese but I still lived it, nonetheless. My boyfriend ordered a pasta dish as well, with ham and peas and Alfredo. He was in heaven. Definitely a good experience!

This place is amazing! The bruschetta is absolutely amazing. The only words I have to describe this gem is wow. Absolute wow. The tagliatelle la funghi is the best pasta I have ever had in my life. We are on holiday and had to come again on our last night just to have the food one more time. Beyond the amazing food the ambiance is amazing. Wonderful servers that strive to please. The environment is welcoming and friendly. Definite 5 stars.

The«Gran Misto alla Griglia» is absolutely something you have to try. A lot of good and tasty grilled fish with dozens of mussels and clams. The staff is friendly and welcoming: they do their best to take care of you. Al dishes are really generous and you can’t get out of this place being still hungry.

We are staying at a friend’s apartment down the street and popped into this place at 6pm on New Years Eve. They were clearly setting up for a party but were happy to accommodate us as long as we we could out by 7:30, which we had no problem with. We had an excellent meal! My husband and I both had pasta and our daughter had pizza. Afterward the waitress insisted on bringing us each a shot of wonderful limoncello, along with a plate of cookies for our daughter. The bill was surprisingly low, particularly for such good food. If I lived here, I’d go there often!

Limehousians suffer from a lack of good local restaurants. Stuck between Canary Wharf and The City, there are precious few places to enjoy a meal around here. La Figa is an Italian restaurant on Narrow Street, in a decidedly residential locale. I very occasionally pop in for lunch when I’m working from home and have come to expect very run-of-the-mill pasta dishes at a palatable price from this restaurant. Their pasta menu hits all the major sauce and noodles combos and often comes in frighteningly large portions. I’ve tried the spaghetti, ravioli, and a few other options, but none of it was particularly noteworthy. I should also mention that though it’s open for lunch, La Figa is almost totally empty around this time, which makes for a very odd dining experience. So while there’s nothing really that bad about it, it feels just a bit ‘off’ to me.

This homegrown Italian restaurant is a firm favourite amongst the residents of Limehouse, and is buzzing every night of the week, so it’s well worth booking in advance to avoid disappointment. From the enormous bowls of pasta to the vast range of pizzas, there will be something here for everyone. The olives are not on the menu but are well worth ordering as a pre-starter — they’re delicious. We’ve only been let down by the food once(a seafood dish), and a full meal can be quite pricey, but for a relaxed meal with a glass or two of wine, La Figa will always be a favourite. You may even be presented with a free limoncello shot if you’re unlucky!

Who goes to the UK for Italian food? I DO! And I enjoyed every second of it. I ordered a calzone that I knew the second I saw it that I would be having the rest for lunch the next day or a midnight snack and ooooh how wrong I was about that! I ordered a ham and pepperoni calzone which was odd because I’m not a fan of ham but I couldn’t decide on any other combination. Looking at the photo posted would make one wonder how I was able to eat for the rest of my trip because it was massive but I couldn’t stop eating it. It was just so good! I don’t know anything about the pricing because my friend brought me here for my welcome to the UK meal but I’d go back no matter the cost. It’s worth it.

This restaurant used to be good, but since the restaurant changed hands and new management came in, the restaurant has gone downhill in a big way. When I recently visited the restaurant in August the service was ‘sloppy’ and the main course came out far too quickly. When I spoke to the waiter he said that there was nothing that he could do about it. When I received my bill, there were items added that I never had. There was also a ‘service’ charged that was added that should only have been there. It was supposed to be for more than 6 people(we were 4!). The manager never even acknowledged this and instead made us wait for 15 mins for a new bill. Needless to say, I didn’t add any gratuity. This restaurant especially the manager here don’t give a t*** about your custom, only providing poor service and trying to get away with ‘ripping’ you off where ever they can. I know it’s gone downhill as I have seen that since the restaurant changed hands, so the quality/service changed too. You have a choice and you get better value for money a mile up the road at Canary Wharf. Try Jamie’s or Carluccio’s — you will get far better service and a better menu. The ‘specials’ at La Figa never change…

La Figa… That’s really the only appropriate way to say the restaurant name, with coy ellipses… I’m not sure how female anatomy and food go together, but they somehow combined the two in a classy but casual environment at this cute Limehouse restaurant. The starters were okay: the Garlic Pizza could have done with more garlic and the Bruschetta a bit more flavor, but the mains were good with its massive portions: Penne all’ Amatriciana, Linguine Vongole, Gnocchi. Also had the Tartufo doused in espresso, recommend getting it to finish off.

If you don’t know any Italian, the name La Figa(and il Bordello) will not be offensive to you. But if you do know what the names mean, you may reconsider your dining choice of the night(hint: look at the logo of La Figa). Either way, when you enter this little residential gem, you really wonder why the restaurant was named after a female body part because nothing in this restaurant even gives you the slightest idea. The prices are decent, most are less than 10 pound per entrée. We started with the Bruschetta, which was full of garlicky tomatoes. Came in a set of three, which was perfect for our party of three. All three of us had some form of Pasta for entrée. I had the Ravioli Aurora, which they claimed on the menu to be a tomato cream sauce, it was not creamy. Nevertheless the food was delicious. My boyfriend had a salmon pasta, quite good. We took home a slice of tiramisu, which was heavenly. definitely recommended. Love the ambiance! On a different note, all the servers are Italian and sometimes struggle with English. I’m not sure if that validates the authenticity of the Italian food, but I thought that was kinda cool.

La Figa is similar to il Bordello in many way. same owners I think and similar food too. They have a large Italian menu and I like to come here for there pizza’s. The portions are huge so we typically share one appetizer between two. The restaurant it self is clean and spacious, however it does get very busy and can get noisy. The wait staff are friendly and overall service is good.

Really enjoy coming to this restaurant as the food is brilliant. Although quite expensive the cooks know how to create authentic Italian meals without ruining the pasta. In addition the pizzas are very good as well, better than many chain pizza places. Two can eat cheaply for around 35 pounds though the menu does include more expensive options. Definitely better than the nearby Narrow.
