What a find! The full name of this gelato shop in Brixton Market is «Laboratorio Artigianale del Buon Gelato» — and having been a customer for about two years now, I can state that I fully agree. Not only do they have a wide variety of traditional flavors(like coffee, pistachio, vanilla, nocciola, stracciatella, etc.) but they’ve also had many experimental flavors, like beetroot, licorice, and even Peroni beer as well as an absolutely delectable rum and raisin. Sadly many of the experimental flavors are limited time offerings, but it’s also fun never to know what they’re going to have next. Given the base quality of their gelato and their experimental offerings, it’s impossible to give anything but a 5* rating. Protip: Occasionally there is some seriously experimental stuff in the back freezer. If you ask nicely, they might let you try it. :)

I found this place by accident so I decided to try. I got myself a scoop of coffee and a scoop of lemon. The portions are a bit small and the prices are a bit high but the taste is rich and that made me very happy. I recommend this shop to those who are not on budget but London does have better value to offer…

West end prices in a non west end location. Could be better. Salted caramel tasted like plain caramel — I was expecting some form of glitz or a type of artisan feel that was certainly not there. Average ice cream with nothing to brag about, but good if you’re in Brixton. I’d take Gelupo in Soho over it anytime.

Ridiculously good traditional Italian ice cream! In a small unit in Brixton Village Market, they have a few seats for eating in. They have the flavours you’d expect, but also some interesting and curious offerings e.g. beetroot and honey. My favourite is the salted caramel, and the pistachio is damn good too. Makes a great spot for dessert when eating elsewhere in the markets.

In the Brixton food arcade, there are lots of good places to eat a main meal. Save a little room for dessert and eat here. What do the offer? Gelato. That’s pretty much it. But when you have a sweet tooth that needs some sexy love making time, this is all you need. Other than tenors, everyone in Italy is skinny, so gelato must be a key. Am I right? :)
