This is definitely a pub pub. What I mean by that is that it is the kind of place the old men of the area come to watch the football, the families come for a meal out with their kids and the people visiting are told to go try the food specials. After a long walk around the area I came across this pub and decided to pop in for a drink. While it is in central London it does not seem like a trendy destination; rather, a good old pub known to the locals and kept relatively secret save for the tourists in the surrounding hotels. It’s fairly small in size, with Victorian themed décor and screens playing sports. They do seem to make an effort with food and drink though; I tried the winter warming pimms which tasted like sweet mulled cider with an extra fruity layer and was quite nice. The food I saw some of the other patrons eating looked yummy and I wished I had tried some myself. I’d recommend his place for people going out in the park with their family and then wanting to stop somewhere for a spot of lunch or dinner and a couple of drinks.

It’s a pleasant place. We came here because it was near our hotel — the restaurant is very near to lots of hotels so you may find a lot of foreigners at this pub(during our time there, there were at least 4 foreigners parties including us). Service was cheerful. The curry of the day special(prawn curry) was delicious. Lamb pie was pretty good but had bone shards in it. We also ordered a scotch egg(very good), sticky toffee pudding with custard(yum) and cheese plate(excellent with large helpings of cheese but not to our taste).

I am not sure about the 5* reviews, but the place does what it says on the tin. I would come back if staying in the neighborhood again but wouldn’t travel across London to go there. The sausage was exceptionally good, but the mash was below average, a bit on the gluey side. No complaints about the beer selection or the service. The vibe is typical pub, not a new room(which I wouldn’t view as a good thing), not exceptionally atmospheric in comparison with other places. I’d go 3.5 if half stars were allowed.

One of best meals we had here in England. The beef in Guinness was awesome and we definitely recommend it to anyone who likes pies. The organic scotch eggs were some of the best ever… Two thumbs up.-

Small but cozy pub:). the staff was very friendly and efficient throughout our stay as well:). the food is well priced. The beef and Guinness pie is a must! I cleaned my plate… the sausage plate was also delicious :) don’t skip on the dessert either ! the brownie and vanilla ice cream was Devine ! of course the beer was amazing ! the rugby World Cup was on tv during our dinner… I expected it to get rowdy, but it didn’t ! There was a great buzz and energy amongst the crowd!

Thought that this might have been better by all the other reviews Great atmosphere and good beers but the food was a let down with sausages having minimal flavour difference over a reasonable mash with a sauce around the outside. Perhaps I was expecting something more but I was let down.

Fantastic first bangers and mash experience. Would have given 5 stars if the sausage hadn’t been overcooked in a couple of places. Nice portions. I had the traditional sausage(tried one in the chili flavor and didn’t like it), cheese and chives mash, with red onion gravy. Yum. Also tried a Pimms and lemonade(but really apple juice?) which was a refreshing, peppy drink. The fruit in the drink was an amazing little mix that added to the flavor. Almost returned for another drink!

Nice little pub on a quiet street. Came here for dinner on my last night in London and had their Guinness Pie which was good, but not great. I think that might be because I’ve never had truly amazing, blow-your-mind out, pub food. The place was lively and had some locals who brought their dog in and we was cute as all get out. Nothing to write home about, but nothing to stick your nose up at either.

Stopped in here as close to our hotel and read the good reviews on here. We were not at all disappointed. Small pub but cosy atmosphere. We had the beef and Guinness pie and the sausage and mash. Both were delicious. They also have a curry on the menu that looked good, we are planning another visit for dinner while we are in London.

On our last night in London we decided to come here, based on the great reviews. It did not disappoint. I had the beef and Guinness pie, and it was definitely my favorite meal of our trip(and we even ate at one of Gordon Ramsey’s restaurants last night!). I scraped the plate clean! My husband had scotch eggs to start, and the sausages and mash, and also thoroughly enjoyed it. Everything was well cooked, seasoned, and plated nicely. Will recommend to friends and family who travel to the area! Also, despite there being a large screen tv with a soccer game on, and the bar being full of mostly male observers, it did not get rowdy or loud in the least. Great spot all around.

This place was located just a short walk away from where we were staying on Inverness. My dad and I decided to try it based on all the positive reviews and we’re certainly glad we did! It’s a very warm and inviting pub, and we were immediately able to get a table after walking in off the street. It was the Sunday right before Christmas and the place was decorated very well and was cozy. Our server immediately came over and was very chatty and friendly. On her recommendations my dad ordered the Sunday roast and I ordered the bangers and mash. The sausages, mash and gravy each have customizable options based on your tastes, and so I once again deferred to the server to choose my options based on what she liked. She did not lead us astray. My dad’s roast was amazing, as was my bangers and mash. Simply out of this world as far as pub food goes. I was not impressed with their beer options, but they were sufficient. I returned one other time with my dad for tea, but my dad and brother stopped in for dinner two days after our first dinner during a time when I was off meeting with friends. My dad really enjoyed it again, as did my brother. My dad accidentally forgot his card there during dinner with my brother but during our tea excursion the barman recognized him when we ordered and returned it to us before we even realized it was missing! That honesty alone should earn the Leinster Arms a 6th star. Overall one of the best traditional English pub meals I’ve ever had and recommend it to anyone who wants an authentic and well-prepared pub meal.

The Leinster Arms is a wonderful little pub where you can spend some quality time with friends or significant others. It’s calm and the staff are quite the friendly type. I can’t really comment on the drinks since I was there for the food which I can say was more than satisfying. I could lick my plate if we weren’t outside among other people. People inside are nice, the pub is clean and the food is good — well enough for me.

After 14 hours on airplanes, being able to sit down in a wonderfully comfortable pub and and get some delicious food, a pint of beer, and football playing in the background was just what I needed. The staff were courteous and attentive, and the food… the food! I ordered the traditional sausage with basic seasoned mash, and wholegrain mustard gravy, along with a pint of bitter. Let’s suffice it to say that it was all gone in minutes.

Excellent — kind, but matter-of-fact, pub proprietor, friendly and cheerful(but not overly loud and boisterous) atmosphere. We went on a Sunday night at about 7:00. With just two of us there were a couple of seating options(we chose the front area, close to the bar). The servers were friendly and efficient, with character! We started off with the charcuterie plate and a Scotch egg, both of which were delicious. Then my son decided to order the Sunday Roast Beef. It was traditional, with parsnips, potatoes, carrots, lots of gravy — and Yorkshire pudding(a new experience, as was the Scotch egg). This was also yummy. For dessert we had the(warm) brownie and the(nice and hot) apple crumble, both with ice cream. Both were exceptional. My(15-year-old) son pronounced the brownie to be the best he’s ever had. What I got to taste if it was divine! The apple crumble had a great topping, and was so piping hot — it was excellent with the ice cream. The apples weren’t mooshy, either — just right. All in all, we had an outstanding and memorable dinner, and an all-around enjoyable experience.

Food: Good, but average. I believe the few(8) reviews to date were overly complimentary. My dessert arrived and it was a long while before my coffee followed. When a hot cup of poor coffee finally arrived, my dessert was long gone(and I ate it slowly while waiting for the coffee). The dessert was awesome: Apple crumble and custard. Pleasant crowd filled the pub. Very pleasant wait staff.

We stopped in for a couple pints and ended up getting the wild boar sausage with sweet potato mash, along with the butternut squash and cheese board. A sign outside claims their butcher was just voted«best in London,» and I believe it. Food was excellent all around, and very reasonably priced. I particularly recommend the butternut squash soup. It had a citrusy base(tomato?) with just a hint of spice, and was easily the best I’ve ever had. The cheese plate was generous and came with a delightful salad. Unusual but it worked well.

I found this pub by typing the phrase«vegetarian pub» into Unilocal.I don’t really know what I was expecting, but this proved dreams do come true. I found myself here on a Saturday night eating the best vegetarian bangers and mash I’ve ever had.(Three choices of gravy, all veg!). They’ve got a solid selection of English ales on tap as well as the usual suspects in the bottle fridge. The night I was here they were showing an England/France rugby game on the big screen with the sound on. Not sure how often that sort of thing happens, but in this case it made me very happy. Highly recommended, it’s a five minute walk from the tube(which is made five minutes longer if you choose to brave the spiral staircase at Queensway)

Stopped here for dinner on a trip to London. It was a short walk from our hotel. Lovely service, not too busy, and delicious food. It was definitely decently priced and had great British pub food. We both got different sausages(venison for my husband, vegetarian for me) and mashed potatoes(tomato mozzarella for him, chive for me) and ate every bite. Also tried a brownie with custard for dessert it was decadent! We plan on going back once more before we leave the city!

My corner pub, currently. They have the special TV pack to show all of the games, a decent sized menu of traditional pub food(sausage & mash-including a vegetarian sausage, pies, Sunday roast), and a friendly staff. It’s quiet, laid back and has a nice atmosphere– it’s relatively small, but not cramped and is very clean and cute. It’s the kind of place I can sit with a friend and enjoy a drink, or take my books and study with a pint without feeling awkward. It’s a nice neighborhood, so everything is at the upper-end of the expected price range. But it’s a really nice choice for the neighborhood, too, since pretty much everything on Queensway is disgusting.
