Their salads and sandwiches are exceptional, definitely worth the money with some really good flavours. For sandwiches, their chicken and avocado looks like a winner but if you are veggie, then their roast pepper baguette is pretty good! Salads are very good overall, my favourite is the beetroot and squash salad but you can mix and match. Lastly, you have to try their arancini when you can!

Don’t be fooled by the rocks that L’Elysèe got, they’re still, they’re still Jenny from the block. By which I mean, despite the window being full of delicious food and the brand hinting at French patisseries and money, there is no actual substance. Be prepared for the same lacklustre cuppa I’ve come to expect anywhere in London. I can’t speak for the food, though they seem to have the early morning baked good market cornered in Hammersmith. If you’re after a decent cup of joe to start your day with, then keep looking.

I’m a bit torn with the rating of this review. On the one hand, you have lovely, smily staff and let’s face it, that is ALWAYS A GREAT thing in London. It is great to be greated and served with a smile. Inside the café, it was very cold making it difficult to enjoy a light lunch. As I am typing this now, my fingers are frozen. It makes it difficult to eat while fully bundled up. My food was OK. Nothing spectacular. I had the cucumber, egg, avocado and bean salad. It was fresh but a tad bit messy do to the avocado. My mixed berry tea was very very yummy! And lastly the pain au chocolat was average, have had better. In all fairness, I did live to one of the best patisserie’s in Paris so my standards are pretty high. They are now cleaning and have left the door open… Seriously??? It is 2 degrees outside… Sigh… Will I return, probably but not until the summer.

As I work pretty much opposite Elysée, I’m in there for lunch at least 3 times a week. They have marketed to their audience extremely well… It’s a relatively new addition to the few cafés and lunch options on Hammersmith road. The queues are out of the door and out onto the pavement at lunchtime, although a) they work very quickly inside due to the sandwiches and baguettes being ready made and b) they bring tasters of smoothies, hot food and soup out to the queue. The food is very well sourced, with good flavour combinations and an eye for detail(free range eggs, dolphin friendly tuna, deliciously fresh salads and bread baked downstairs every day) which is just not offered in the other cafés in the area. They’ve also got a well-priced patisserie counter, which I’ve tried my fair share of in my time! The service is always friendly, perhaps because I’ve been going their since their opening day, but they appear to be very chatty with everyone. They’re always very helpful, and although it can sometimes get a bit busy, they never get too flustered or forget to ask how I am. The prices are average — it’s certainly possible to spend as much as you’re willing to on lunch, with most options costing between £3−6, but add on a few welcome additions like one if their delicious raspberry milkshakes(made with fat free yoghurt) and you’re well on the way to a tenner for lunch. I certainly need to hold myself back sometimes! All in all, this is my favourite place for lunch in the area! They certainly know what they’re doing and do it well.

Great new café in the area, one of the better coffees around(Union beans) and amazing pastries and bread. There’s always a bit of a queue at lunch so I assume the other food must be good as well.
