Sadly, we missed the belly dancing. Instead of staying in the restaurant, we took it to go, but we did walk in and the entire atmosphere is totally cool. You walk down these stairs and it all starts to get really mysterious, dark, and beautiful. You’re underground in this lovely place with beautiful decorated seating. It’s romantic and wonderful! The food is also very good, but we only ordered small dishes and shared– nothing from the mains. The Falafel kredis was so good! I had never had any sort of falafel with prawns– it had amazing flavor. Here’s what we tried. They were all different, but unique and quite tasty. The spicy potatoes were also really well seasoned. –Baba ghannouj –Falafel kredis– Prawns, chickpea & broad bean falafel, served with harrisa & mayo sauce –Batata harra– Spicy sautéed potatoes with red pepper, fresh coriander, garlic & chill –Falafel– Chickpeas, broad beans & tahini

Amazing experience on our trip to London. Amazing food paired with a fantastic atmosphere and authentic belly dancing. My group agreed that this was a highlight of our trip: we won’t forget anytime soon.

We were a large group and I am sure they are used to big groups because the service was pretty impeccable. We had a pre fixe menu with three courses. You can order either vegetarian or non vegetarian food. They start off with dips and tabouleh. All the dips were amazing, especially liked their parsley tahini. There was also a very smokey baba ghanoush and hummus. The pita they served was also good. Then they gave us a few fried appetizers like falafel, a few boreks and another ground meat and chickpea dish which I don’t know the name of. For the mains, there was moussaka with really really good rice, Halloumi cheese that was grilled and served with some very tasty couscous. There was also lamb with bulgar, which I thought was ordinary since it was not seasoned well. There was also chicken with rice, which was the best dish on the table. For desserts they give you the whole shebang ! A big tiered tray which has baklava, the cigar thing, the Turkish delight and cookies and also some fruits. Plus they serve some mint tea, my only problem with the tea was that it had sugar in it. I like mine without. They of course have cocktails but we all just stuck to beer and I think everyone had the Casablanca, which is one of my favorite beers. They have belly dancing and some really loud music after 830 pm. We had early dinner so we were about to leave when the loud music started. So I guess it depends on what you want, if you are going for just food and conversation go early if music and a general party atmosphere is more your scene go later. This is obviously a sought after place. It cost us about 50£ per person, so I would say a place to celebrate something.

Overpriced. No other way to describe. Had the food been mindblowing, I’d speak differently but it just wasn’t and was small enough to feed a quarter of me(I’m no skinny person but I know what a standard meal should be for anyone!) The only cool thing about this place is the bellydancer and décor, real Arab feel to the place. I went once and won’t go back ever again since there are so many better places to go to in London.

The food. That’s all that really needs to be said. The food is AMAZING. I’ve grown up eating some of the best Lebanese food in my family, and so I know what makes a great Lebanese restaurant. The food here is incredible. So tasty and so fresh. The belly dancers are gorgeous and very good, as well. I’d recommend going on a Friday or Saturday night! Definitely go to have a delicious dinner and see some good belly dancing. The music is really fun and they also get you up to dance with them. My mom was absolutely hilarious… It was a really fun night!

I went to Levant with a friend. The place looks lovely and the staff are very friendly, helpful and attentive. We both had the set fish menu for 2. There was so much food we left 2 whole pieces of fish. I loved the starters but I didn’t really have room to appreciate the main. I think it’s quite expensive for the food, although you do get plenty. But the whole experience of the place and belly dancers make up for it. Having said that, now I’ve been I don’t think I’d pick to go again unless it was a special occasion.

Some of my friends who are locals in London tell me this place is a tourist spot and not authentic. Regardless, the food is superb. The tabooli is the absolute best I have ever had. Period. I was first at Levant NYE2011 and then again in 2012. Both times the food was impeccable. Service was average, not excellent and not bad. Prices are high but the food is worth it. Not to mention if you catch it on the right night you get an authentic live Arabic band and not so authentic but still attractive bellydancers. If you’re in the area definitely check it out. You won’t be disappointed.

I was planning a group dinner for 17 people; while most places I inquired with forced me to choose a set menu at an exorbitantly high price per person, Sasha(the general manager) was very understanding of our budgetary constraints and customized a plan for my group. The booking process was seamless, and restaurant staff were friendly and attentive. Overall, I would recommend Levant if you are looking for a place with nice ambiance, great service, space for large groups, and tasty food(the portion sizes were quite hefty!).

Love the food and the ambiance. And then suddenly the music comes on and three very talented belly dancers emerge to twist their bodies in ways I didn’t think was possible. But still very classy. A great date place, client place, friends place. Now if you really want to be part of it… say yes when she asks you to dance… you will see how hard it is!

My wife took me here for my birthday. food was really good! there was loads of food! came out really quick. staff were nice and friendly. But there was a issue in communicating the order correctly. Would go again, but it did cost £90 for both of us. but overall was really nice.

What an amazing place! The ambiance was perfect, the service was impeccable, and the food was just about the best middle eastern food that I have had. We came as a large group without a reservation, were able to secure a nice private area(they have lovely draped off tables), and the staff helped us pick out just the right dishes and wine to have a great evening. Expensive, but a great gem in London.

I’d never had Lebanese food before so I wasn’t sure what I was going to get. But the food was very nice and I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant too. We went here for lunch and they were filming a documentary/interview in the front bar area. I had my baby with me and when he started fussing the director came over to ask us to keep it quiet. The Manager of the restaurant came running up and told us that the director had no right to com pain about the baby since they didn’t hire out the whole restaurant. They apologised and gave us a free glass of wine, which was nice of them.

Been here a couple times and really recommend it. You walk down the stairs and through a thick door into a suburbian, middle eastern, dimly lit sexy place. Order the meat feast and you will get an absolute ton of food… more than enough for two people, or enough for two people to leave stuffed. All of the food was really excellent, with the only exception being the turkish delight for dessert… I just don’t like it in general I guess. My only real complaint about this place is when they break into the 10 minute belly dancing… loud and really unnecessary and gimmicky.

Levant is amazing for groups! I arranged a birthday party here on Saturday night for 14 guests. They easily accommodated us in a cool nook that felt like a tent in the desert. The food was very good, although not the cheapest. After ordering the basic set menu for £29/head and many drinks the total was £45/head — not bad in London! Food wise we were very happy with the basic menu. The desert, Baklava in particular was amazing. The only downside was that we had to give up our table around 8.45 when the belly dancing was just starting. I’d recommend a booking starting at 8.30 to get a chance to see the entertainment which is very impressive. It’s rather hard to find since it’s located in an alley off of Wigmore Street, but once you’ve found it you won’t forget about it. Love this place!

Great place! As soon as you walk in the doorway and down the stairs you are already being enticed by the Arabic charm and being whisked away from London. Opening the doors you are hit with a light hint of shisha and the delightful Arabic music. The décor matches the whole Arabic feel and the tables are very close making it intimate. The belly dancers are a delight and really add to the whole experience. We ordered from the menu to share as we wanted to sample the different dishes and we were not disappointed. Food really was good as were the cocktails. Finishing up with mint tea poured from a height! Highly recommended and will be on our list to go again!

After hearing London rivals NYC in food/restaurants, and wanting a break from curry houses, I went in search of North African cuisine in London for my boyfriend and I. After trusting my Unilocal instincts, I settled on Levant in Marylebone, and the Unilocal reviewers before me did not lie! I was looking for something with atmosphere and romance, and Levant was the absolute right choice. From the moment you walk down the stairs, adorned with Moroccan lamps to light your way, you know it’s going to be a great experience. I booked a table for two at 9:00pm on a Saturday night, and even though the place was packed, our table was promptly ready. From the music to every detail in the décor, this place was EXACTLY what I had hoped to find. London can be known for their slow service, but our waiter worked very hard to make sure we weren’t lost among the sea of bachelorette parties happening that evening. Around 11pm, the DJ turned the volume up a bit and the belly dancing started. Great fun! We ordered from the Feast Menu, which is £28 per person and is more food than imaginable. You MUST try the chicken livers from the Mezze menu — to die for! The entire meal was so huge and delicious, that by the time the dessert tray of tea and Turkish delights arrived, I didn’t know how much more I could eat. But we nibbled on it, as it as well was too delicious to pass up! Overall I would recommend that anyone traveling to or living in London visit Levant. It’s top notch, and great for an evening splurge-meal out on the town. Our bill was about £120 for two people, which include a bottle of wine, 2 cocktails and their feast menu. Worth every penny.

I was searching for a place to go on a Monday night that was convenient to both my friend and to me. Levant fit the bill and had a 50% off offer on Toptable. The restaurant is tucked away in a small alley and when you enter it’s like entering another world. The restaurant is plush and ornate and pretty expansive. The atmosphere is great for a large group or for just a couple of people. There was also a belly dancing show at around 10 o’clock when we went, which was fun but non intrusive. We ordered a few mezzes which were very good and at 50% off a bargain. The cocktails are tasty, but rather expensive and that’s where you’ll see you bill start to skyrocket. Overall, we had a fantastic time here. It was pretty full on a Monday night, had entertainment, and the surroundings were lovely. The only thing I would say is that without the 50% deal it would probably be rather pricey and depending on the occasion you might choose it for just drinks and snacks. Definitely a winner in my book, though.

Levant does some of the most well made cocktails in London, in my opinion. This Middle Eastern restaurant and bar is tucked away in a little side street, close to Selfridges. Even when you find the entrance there are more steps down to navigate before you find this den of sweet and spicy naughtiness. You walk into a bar, which then leads onto the restaurant. This has a loungy atmosphere; the place looks like a giant bedroom stuffed with huge cushions. You don’t really sit here, you recline. While the food is delicious, I usually come here just for a couple of cocktails. That is more than enough for me. With regards to the drinks, I would recommend anything with rose petal in. Or mint. All of the flavours are so fresh, none of the drinks taste synthetic. They are quite expensive, but sometimes you have to pay a bit extra for something so good. For the non alcoholic drinkers there are plenty of booze free versions. If you have spent a hard days shopping in Selfridges and need a pick me up, head over here.

Coming off Wigmore Steet and descending the stairs, you are immediately greeted with a scene from the Arabian nights. An exotic basement of colour and fabric and the scent of delicious Middle Eastern cooking. A long banquette and seperate tables populate the central axis of the room, while private areas offer floor cushions for lounging over Lebanese-style. Authentic flavoured mezzes and dishes such as slow-roasted shoulder of lamb with a nut pilaf, this is a place to sample the proverbial taste of the unknown. Place is open til midnight for those that prefer to feast until late.
