We brought a Wowcher deal for brunch and prosecco for £39. Well I will say I wouldn’t do it again or recommend it here. Eggs Benedict the eggs were sloppy. My friends egg had a short curly black hair on her egg. The afters was cheese cake with a cake base and not biscuit. When we went to leave our friends who booked the same deal but had to pay after eating were given a bill of £89 after complaining they changed it to £39.

The staff is absolutely awesome. They tend to your every need. They are polite, helpful, quick, and knowledgeable. The hotel is 30 seconds from the Lancaster Gate Tube Station on the Circle Line. Come out of the station, turn right, and the hotel is literally across the street. One of many Hyde Park’s entrances is seconds away, right across the street from the hotel, and leads to the most beautiful parts of the park, where you will have beautiful water features and walkways to enjoy. There are several buses(94, 390, 148, 70, etc.) that will take you to two of the most famous tourist locations in London(They are in opposite directions of one another): Notting Hill Gate and Oxford Street(which leads to Piccadilly Circus, where you can get off, cross the street, and you are at Harvey Nichols, or walk a short distance, and you arrive at Harrods in Knightsbridge.) The beauty of the 94 bus is that it will literally drop you off right on the hotel’s doorsteps. While on Oxford Street, definitely enjoy Selfridges and John Lewis Department Stores. There are a variety of little shops and boutiques you may find bargains for yourself and as souvenirs, but browsing these department stores is an absolute must. On Notting Hill Gate Road, stop by the best fish and chips at Royal Fish and Chips(Take out or Eat In). For those of you who are familiar with Nando’s, there is one not too far from Royal Fish and Chips on the same side of the street. For those who do not know Nando’s, it is the best experience in fire-roasted chicken. They have a variety of Peri Peri sauces that have made Nando’s famous. As a family, order one or two whole chickens, and don’t forget the awesome olives. Their sides are all good, but I like the Peri Fries and their garlic bread. Their corn is also fire-roasted. The hotel has been there since the beginning of time, it seems, but for the price and location, it’s reasonable. The elevator is a bit of a joke. The sign generously warns that maximum of two people can use the lift at one time, but I think the person who wrote the sign had Twiggy in mind. If you have a carry on bag, you can the carry on bag may be able to squeeze in, only of you have been really good and have been dieting for a year or two before your fateful trip to London. If you have a suitcase, just send up the suitcase, take the stairs, and meet the suitcase on the other side. You and your suitcase will not fit! The rooms are dated(I was in a double, and after my brother left, I moved into a single) are crying out for a lick of paint, and the mattress in both rooms were uncomfortable. If the room is cold, that is because they have not turned on the radiator. Call the desk in the lobby and someone will come and turn it on for you. The bathrooms are a few steps up and then three steps down, but they are mercifully inside the room. If you have to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, be sure to leave a light on. Navigating the stairs is a challenge during the day, let alone in the middle of the night. The breakfast bar is sparse, but adequate. «The price is right.» For free breakfast, don’t expect much, especially at a hotel in this price point. You can however, for a hefty price(about $ 25 a person), order a full blown English breakfast. Book the hotel through Expedia, or similar travel sites. If you don’t mind a bit of «old charm,» want to save a bundle on your hotel bill, and want to be in a fantastic location, London Elizabeth Hotel is a good choice. Enjoy your stay in London, and be ware of pickpockets, especially on Oxford Street. They are slick, and trust me when I tell you that you wouldn’t know what hit you, until it is way too late. Keep money, passports, etc., in an inside pocket, zipped, and even then, beware of your surroundings at all times. They often work in pairs: One distracts you, and the other picks you clean.(Yes, you guessed it: I was a victim in 1972. Luckily all they stole was 200 pounds in travelers cheques that American Express replaced, but it took an expensive cab ride to the City, and tolerating anger and screaming from my dad for about two hours until I got the replacement cheques!)

Came here for afternoon tea through the Livingsocial for 26 pounds for 2 people including champagne which is a good deal since most afternoon teas can get pricey. It was around the corner from the Lancaster Gate tube stop which is very ideal and across the street from the vast Hyde Park. Making a reservation was easy for the weekdays but call ahead for weekends. Staff was friendly. Sandwiches were really tasty. Tea was delicious! It is in a little room called the Rose Garden which is tastefully decorated giving a very girly, British vibe which I loved. Everything just felt so classy! As a tourist, the experience was so fun. I would highly recommend coming here if you want to try afternoon tea but don’t want to splurge on some of the other more famous spots in the city.

We’ve stayed here before and have always enjoyed it. Staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good and so are the dinners. The location is great with underground only a minute walk away and bus right outside the door.
