Recently discovered this place right down the road from me. A cosy space with a warm staff and good food! Excellent prices for London too!

Accidentally arrive this restaurant and feel so good for the food we order. We like the waitress who served us and feel comfortable when eating in the lower floor. You should try.

Food and service was excellent both times we ate here. Take away prices are phenomenal but you would miss the gracious staff.

I’ve been to L’Osteria 57 a few times, since it’s just a hop, skip and jump from where I have classes, and I’ve never been blown away by it(unfortunately, because I think the food is good and it’s nice to have Italian so close!). In particular, the service is often slow, or food takes forever to come out. This is not the kind of place you can rush a lunch meal at! However, they have both and upstairs and downstairs, which means there is lots of room to enjoy your meal. The atmosphere looks faux authentic, with barrels on the walls downstairs, and a great color scheme of red and gold that feels homey and Italian. The food is good, and they serve large portions that will definitely fill you up(and if you’re like me, offer plenty to take away after). Flavors are authentic, and their pasta is always well cooked. I would just make sure you have time to enjoy that, otherwise you may end up late, or feeling annoyed that things move at a kind of stereotypically Italian meal pace(read: long!).

This is a really cute little place. It looks tiny, but there’s lots more seats downstairs. But that meant that downstairs was very quiet indeed. At one point we were the only people in there so the atmosphere wasn’t great. It was pretty cold as well. But, the staff are friendly and the food is lovely. I had wild boar tagglieteli with wild mushrooms. Yummy :-) Just enough food, which arrived quickly and was polished off even quicker. For £8.95 it’s a bargain. But the whole vibe of the place was very meh. There was nothing about it that made me think«I have to come back here and try everything». My lunch was yummy, and I think it’s the kind of place that would have more of a vibe in the evening, I’m just not sure I’ll be itching to go back. Once again, my search for the perfect Italian restaurant in London continues…

Good Italian food, super service and eminently reasonable prices. Today I had spinach and ricotta ravioli with butter & sage, it was fabulous –straightforward no fuss home-made pasta cooked to perfection. Half of a carafe of perfectly passable Italian Ribena at £8.50 for a half litre washed it down splendidly. Bruschetta and triangoli stuffed with swordfish went down well with my colleagues. Bread and water were replenished with no fuss, and good coffee was rustled up with the bill — no semaphore required to catch the attention of the staff. The only downside is that it is rather small, and the furniture is oversized, but if there are only a few of you, who cares? You’ll not be in a rush to be leaving, after all. Update: there’s a downstairs! With lots more room! A favourite lunch spot.

I’ve eaten here a lot and I can safely say I’ve always had excellent food and excellent service. I love the atmosphere; it’s small, busy, friendly and energetic. I’ve eaten in a lot of stuffy places in London and this certainly isn’t one of them. You really get the feeling your part of the family when you sit down and eat, the staff are really friendly and the owner also likes to come over and have a chat. The prices are unbelievably good, the food is excellent quality genuine authentic Italian cuisine and I would have to say this is my favourite Italian restaurant in London by a long way

The staff make this place they are incredibly friendly and outgoing and make you feel right at home. Its always full, especially during the week when many local businesses do lunches here, and this adds to the atmosphere of joviality. Serving mainly Italian dishes, there is a wide variety of pizzas and good pasta dishes, which they are know for. All their mains come with delicious grilled vegetables, which to me is an added bonus.
