Was looking for a cocktail bar with a twist. From the moment I checked their website looking for more details on what they are about the experience began. Finally locating their number, after thinking for sure their website was having problems — not the case. I called to book a reservation-a must. Arrived for early cocktails initially uncertain having found the entrance and headed downstairs. No standing here, you are shown to your seating area and handed books! Books?! A moment of confusion as you realise the menus are just as secret as the experience so far. Lavishly names cocktails and ingredients mean you are asking for more time to select your tastebud delight. My first cocktail came with chocolate caviar and vodka to wash down. What an experience. My second felt like a ‘healthy’ option as mixed with beetroot. All were tasty and served with a story as narrated by the friendly waitress. The story and performance add to the experience. Oh and a little pot of popcorn to snack on. Not the cheapest of nights but, if you are looking for something fun and different here’s a place to go. The owner(I think) also spent time talking about Bohemia and the language influence in the bar. Overall, loved the experience and will be back!

I’m a big fan of this place. So much thought has been put into every part of the experience here. From feeling sly and special about the speakeasy-style location, to the décor, to the cleverly hidden menus, to the very friendly and completely unpretentious service, to the stories behind the drinks, to the drinks themselves! Just wow. Drinks aren’t cheap, but they’re so so worth it and they definitely don’t skimp on the good alcohol. After two drinks, I had trouble finding the bathroom(ok, maybe it wasn’t just the alcohol), but definitely felt like I got my money’s worth. Make reservations and don’t dress business-ey. I’m definitely coming back.

Bday Spot number 2 on my Sister’s list was lounge Bohemia! We don’t frequent east London much but when we’d heard about what they did we just knew we had to venture out there! Wow oh Wow!!! Creativity at its highest! Apparently they don’t normally allow more than one themed tasting menu at a table as it takes time to make and such but as it was my sister’s bday she allowed us all to try different ones! Their tasting menus are £35 per person which in my opinion is an absolute bargain for the experience you get! Anyhoo we all tried the«Into the Woods» and«Morning Rituals’ menu… Wow wow wow … They dont just lay it on your table. It comes in steps with a story! We had things like alcoholic tree sap, edible alcoholic cotton and even an electric cocktail!!! Yes you heard me! How they did it is beyond me but it felt like they were electrical currents in my mouth!!! I could go on on as there were sooooo many amazing cocktails we had so many amazing tasting creations which didn’t look like cocktails! It was an experience!!! And don’t be fooled they all packed a punch and left us all quite tipsy! Lol can’t wait to go back and try some more of their molecular cocktails!!! Wow wow wow

Funny experience at this hidden bar located on –1 floor of some random building. We had 45min before going out for diner and showed up with 3. There were people but it was not fully booked either. First comment we got is that a booking was necessary. So we had to insist to just sit a while. I understand that if there are rules they should be respected but come on it is Wednesday night and there is still plenty of place, plus this is just a bar. Well we got a nice little spot and ordered weird cocktails(didn’t understand half of the ingredients). Prices are 14−20£. The waitress was very into her story when presenting our drinks. They all come with a different explanation and demo which makes the experience strange but fun in a way. The result was good but not as awesome as described. The place itself is cosy and original. I am just not 100% convinced by the prices and the whole unique experience cocktail concept. We laughed a lot though!

Delicious and wonderfully fun cocktails in a hidden underground bar with very tasteful Scandinavian designed furniture. Worth paying a little extra to have the amazing usual cocktails. I can’t more highly recommended the Castro and the Bubblebath ones. Do make sure you book, the phone number is on their website. In keeping with the speakeasy vibe, the staff may turn you away without a booking, even if there are spare tables.

Great drinks with innovative recipes in this blitz speakeasy. Might be pricey but the staff is awesome and the drinks are great.

Lounge Bohemia was such a fun and unique experience. You’ll definitely drop some change here, but it will be very memorable. We were able to snag a reservation for 3 just two days before for a Friday night around 9:30pm. They do a great job making the space feel cozy without feeling cramped. We got to sit on a comfy couch off the main area of the bar. Good luck deciding what to order. Their main list of cocktails(£8.50) has a lot of neat variety and combinations. The Ginger Gypsy was refreshing and did not skimp on the vodka. The malt chocolate drink was truly delicious — the most chocolate-y cocktail I’ve ever had(next to spiked hot chocolate, of course!). A table near us were getting lots of the awesome-looking molecular cocktails. We got envious and also ordered the Oaxaca drink, which included mezcal and mint served in a pipe(£14). It was delicious and awesome! It was definitely a splurge but really fun and smoked. We felt like scientists. Free popcorn and self-serve water. Nice, chill crowd. The people working here were also nice and not pretentious, which was also a welcomed surprised for a posh spot like this.

I wish I’d tried their signature cocktails. I just had a scotch and soda, because I was a little jet lagged. This was a short visit, and a long overdue one, to London. Shoreditch changed a lot since I was last there. I love the intimacy of this bar, just a few little nooks tucked throughout. It feels Bohemian in every sense; Czech newspapers cover the walls upstairs, and something subversive seems to be afoot in the dimly lit basement.

Lounge Bohemia has some super cool comfy cave areas which are perfect for lounging on after work. The cocktails are always beautifully presented with some really cool concepts although every single cocktail I’ve had there has been much too strong for my liking. They also have a no suits policy which threw my friend a bit so if you’re in a full suit they’ll make you casual it up a bit.

This place is weird. It’s in the basement next to a kebab shop in shoreditch. The décor is shoreditch minimal. Everything about this place suggests it should be a hipster dive bar. And yet the formality of this place is absolutely ludicrous. This is like 3 star Michelin service in a kebab shop. Any attempts at levity were quickly put in its place by the funny-as-cancer staff. And then I had a drink from the molecular(their description not mine) and I kind of got it. These are serious drinks and call for serious service. The kind where the bartender is likely to call himself a mixologist. If Harvard offered a doctorate in drinks, these would be the dissertation. I was unprepared for the formality and quiet hushed tones throughout. This is not a place for boisterous conversation. It is a temple and one is expected to show the proper respect. Am I basically saying it is pretentious? Not exactly. It could just be that it is in the wrong part of town. It’s missing any of the self-aware irony that you’d expect in shoreditch.

I’ve been meaning to try this spot out for a while, so once we were given some extra time off over Easter(love a bank holiday) we jumped in here for alcoholic shaped treats. I first stumbled upon this place by total chance and on this occasion was told that it was reservation only. Pretty cool bar tucked between a doorway of a kebab shop right by BoxPark. After a quick few seconds looking around inside, I took to the website, found the number and made my reservation sharpish. I was more than eager to get myself back here as I heard really good things from friends and the other Unilocal reviews. So the hour turned and after some good Mexican food close by, the cocktail menu awaited our visit. The venue is really nice, very industrial with a Russian twist but has plenty of little seats and sofas that you could loose a couple of drinks on. It was at this point that the service really let this place down. We made a 2 hour reservation and were more than ready for a couple of drinks but after checking in we were thrown into a booth with another couple. A little odd considering that the bar was quite empty at this point and had plenty of other seats that would of made us feel more welcomed. It was a little embarrassing and awkward given we were pretty much sitting on the lap of another couple. We got over it as we heard the quality of the drinks weren’t to be missed, so after mulling over the menu for a while(which is cleverly hidden in an old Russian novel) we were ready to go. We both were gasping and almost waited 10 minutes before the waitress came over to take our order, little bit frustrating, the place really needed another one or two bar staff. Orders taken we settled in for another wait and we weren’t wrong. It took about 15 minutes to get our drinks and by this point we just need any liquid refreshment! Outside of the service the drinks were fantastic and that’s the reason I’m still giving up 3 stars. I had a straight up margarita which was as near as perfect as they come and then we had a really sweet cinnamon infused biscuit vodka concoction. Was beautiful. Given our long wait the drinks didn’t take long and although we wanted more, we didn’t want to go through the 20 – 25 minute ordering process again. So we left and hit the pub for some instant service. A little annoying if I’m honest, the drinks were nice but don’t go here dying of thirst. Be prepared to be thrown in to unnecessary crowded booth and have impersonal service. Good drink tho…

Hidden away in the depths of east london. You need to know this place exists in order to find it. You wont be able to just stumble across it. From bubble bath lychee martinis with rubber duckies floating in it to strong whsikies with cigars in it for flavour. This places is somewhere you can chill with some friends any night of the week. Booking is required

One of the most unique places I’ve been to in London — the cocktails are really different in every way — the combination of tastes and textures, and the top notch presentation. I am usually not the one to splurge over a tenner on a cocktail, but in Lounge Bohemia it seems worth it — each drink is a complex masterpiece with a flavorful story to tell. The retro and historical Czechoslovak-inspired interiors make for a nicely wacky, but not too over the top atmosphere. It’s definitely a cozy spot for a date or a fun rather than a rowdy night out.

Shoreditch cocktails come in many(mostly wonderful) variations and Lounge Bohemia ranks at the very top of the bunch with their very elaborate and varied menu, extremely friendly and accommodating staff, and general ambience which is top-notch. Their molecular menu is on the pricey side but nothing extravagant and most importantly: worth every penny. We tried quite a few of them, and there was absolutely not a single«meh» one among them. All drinks were well-balanced, tasty and very original in conception and execution with all the flavour, smell and presentations getting A grades from me. The place wasn’t too loud, felt intimate and had a very cool 60s design throughout. Details clearly matter, standards are high, but their personable and friendly atmosphere is a big part of the appeal of this place to me. Our server was very happy to make recommendations and took really great care of throughout the night. Perfect for a night out with friends, but also for a more intimate evening and let me emphasise again how out of the 10 cocktails we picked from the menu according to our varying tastes in the group, all of them were nothing short of delicious. Recommended by one of our favourites Happiness Forgets, I’ll not just be happy to recommend this place to everyone I like, but I shall be returning many times myself.

I am very disappointed. My first two experiences here were wonderful, I thought I had discovered a little underground paradise with fabulous cocktails. Upon my third visit here on Friday, to my horror, things had changed. They no longer serve little fun pieces of food with their cocktails. My favorite drink here no longer exists and the staff were awful. The first two times I came here, the drinks took along time to come to the table, but this was excusable due to the fact they were amazing, and came with carefully thought out accompaniments. But now, they take just as long(if not longer and it wasn’t very busy), and come with nothing but a sour face from the waitress. I was less than impressed and will not be returning here. The waitress we had displeased me on several occasions with her attitude, like she was too good to be serving us drinks(even though it was her job) and was incredibly snooty when I asked about why they changed the menu, stating that«it was just too much work behind the bar». Well if its too much work then I won’t be coming back. I used to think this place was comparable to Nightjar, Callooh Callay and Evans and Peel, next time I’m in the area I’ll just stick to the kebab shop next door which is wonderful.

Lounge Bohemia is my favorite cocktail bar in Shoreditch! Like a good speakeasy, it is well hidden from the public eye. Before my first time there, I passed by it a dozen time and never once thought it wasn’t a part of the kebab shop. You would go down some narrow stairs to reach the basement lounge. The ambience of the lounge is quite chill and the décor is very retro. There are a few«cave areas» that provide more privacy and open couch areas in the middle. The cocktails here are out of control. Every cocktail has a cool name, comes with a small bite of food that compliments the drink and is put in super creative glasses. Some cocktails are prepared right in front of you, like the full Canadian Breakfast. The Whisky was pour out from a maple leaf shaped bottle into a glass filled with frozen blue berry! Some come to the table with so much style, like the tree sap. A bite of prosciutto came on a piece of tree bark covered in dry ice fog. I am fascinated when a new drink comes to the table. It has become my go to place for a night out with friends. And I have successfully turned a handful of my friends into fans as well. Make sure you call ahead to book a table, because they DONOT like walk ins. They are nice enough to accommodate, but you don’t get the cave tables!

Funnily enough, found out about it when I tried to book Happiness Forgets. They were full but in their email, gave a list of other bars in the area including Lounge Bohemia. Was able to book a table for 6 at 9pm on a Saturday on Friday afternoon so that was pretty good. Atmosphere: Cool typical nondescript speakeasy entrance. It’s just an open door between a corner shop and a kebab shop. Inside. the place has a really nice loungey feel to it. Lots of sofas and other comfy egg shaped chairs. Drinks: My issues with it are that the drinks gave me the impression of the sort which are cooler conceptually than they are taste wise. We tried — Sgt. Pepper: this was really nice. Elderflowery and peppery. — Ice Tea for two: not sure exactly what’s in it, but it was really pleasant. Served in a steaming tea pot and with tea cups, it was just a really nice alcoholic ice tea. — Iced coffee: Average. Had a really watered down taste to it for some reason. Not really worth it. — Porcini Martini: Really great for one sip. Tastes like an alcoholic mushroom soup but it’s really weird having such a savoury drink, and just not that enjoyable beyond the coolness of trying it. That being said it is a fun drink to tell people you had. Overall: Pretty cool spot, Chilled out vibe. Hit-and-miss drinks imo but worth checking out for sure.

London is filled with secrets. Some of them you wander on accidentally, some you go searching for. And some you get lead to, like I did with Lounge Bohemia. This is my friend’s favourite bar, and now it’s one of mine as well. She asked if we could meet here for a drink and I said sure. Little did I know that meeting here would be a journey in of itself. LB is not easy to find. Not remotely. Get to Liverpool Street Station and walk north on Bishopgate Lane. When you get to the intersection at Great Eastern St., you’re in the right place. Across the street is a well lit kebab shop called Corner Savoy. Next to it is an unmarked black door that may or may not be open. This is the spot. Walk through. You’re now in a dimly lit hallway full of newspapers. Again, right spot. Keep walking and go down the stairs. Welcome to Lounge Bohemia. This classic drinking parlous from a bygone era is one of London’s most relaxing spots. Giant alcoves with comfortable seating, A low hanging chandelier-esq light, the best. If you made a reservation, they’ll take you to your table. If not, you can see if there is any room. Usually, though, it is reservation only. Here is where the bar really shines though: the quality of drinks and quality of service. They have an amazing cocktail menu with old classics and new creations they came up with in the back. A bubble martini with bubbles and a small rubber duck in it. The Holy Smoke that is made with frankincense and myrrh and comes in a hollowed out bible? The Russian Breakfast, a chocolate cocktail that comes with fake in-house made chocolate caviar. Yes please. Drinks are anywhere from £7 to £12 depending on what you get. But my god, they are fantastic. Order the right drink, and the staff will even tell you a story that comes with it. Ask the staff for a story for a random drink they created and they’ll send someone over to make it up on the spot… Ok, that probably doesn’t happen always, but we loved the stories they told us before and wanted one with the day’s special. They obliged and told us a story. And the bathroom’s are behind a hidden wall near the coat check. So that’s pretty damn amazing right there. I love this bar. I will come back to this bar often.

As good as it gets. For those who complain about having to make a reservation… c’mon, get over it. Its petty. Just call and enjoy. This place is special, not short bus special but uhmazing special. There was so much forethought into the drinks and its delivery that it deserves to be named something other than bar or lounge. Do make a reservation Don’t wear a suit and tie Do say hello to your friendly owner and mixologist Do find the bathroom by the coat check behind a hidden wall Don’t forget to lock it.
