Please don’t pay these prices for laser cutting. You’re being ripped off. Go to one of the many other laser cutting shops in London(Fabberz, Fablab, 4D Modelshop, etc) or visit one of the many design universities and try to use their facilities. Laser cutting is not cutting edge enough to warrant that cost. I am speaking from a position of knowledge and experience with several models of laser cutters, new and old. The concept of the place is cool and I’m glad they’re bringing information to the general public but these prices are extortionate. Maybe they are charging more so they can cover paying employees to do the free workshops? I really don’t know, but I can’t in good faith recommend them based on my experience. I can’t speak to the prices of 3D printing but it seems a bit more reasonable. I have not printed with them.

I pass by Makers Café all the time, and finally stopped in. I mean, how could I not, it’s a 3D printing café. That just seems cool. And it is cool. So it’s not actually a Café, not really. It’s a wing of The Old Shoreditch Station, which is a café. And you can buy coffee from them and bring it into Makers Café and drink coffee there and work on projects. And I think you should, because damn this place is cool. They do have their own door though and are their own shop and they will get things done for you. What do you want to do? Print something on a 3D printer? Have lazer cutting done. Create something awesome. They will help. They’re not a design studio, so you have to do that on your own, but they’ll show you how to get it done and then, get it done. Boom! They also do classes, seminars, workshops on things like 3D printing, which is, in itself, cool. Come here, grab a coffee and sit down and work on whatever project you’re working on. It’s an amazing community of people who love this story of thing, will help you with this sort of thing, give you the chance to do this sort of thing. And that… is cool.
