Fantastic food and good value for money! Staff are also very friendly shamazing food! Could do with a change every month, I loved the steak Frits was really tender, and good value for money., but all good things don’t last. I eat there at least 3 times a week and I think they should set up some sort of loyalty scheme for people like me that spends hundred of ponds to eat there.

fair to middling. the food is delicious, but I was disappointed that the menu that I’d seen in the window — and the dish that had drawn me in for lunch — was different from the one at the table. how hard can it be to change a piece of paper ?
The service wasn’t bad, a bit stop-​start in the beginning, but more fluid towards the end. I had a good lunch of the «replacement» dish, and a table to myself to work at. the décor has lovely continental feel to it and the black-​and-​white show reels with Charlie Chaplin are a but of fun in the background. it would be fun to go back to with friends I think.

Had breakfast here with the kids and wife: butter croissants, Eggs Royale, French toast with fruit — all deliciously and freshly prepared. Nice atmosphere too with friendly staff. I suspect this will become a regular for us.

After GBK got taken over by Nandos and became disgusting (And then closed down!) I wondered what would take it’s place in Crouch End.
After passing ‘Mélange’ a few times and then glancing at the somewhat small menu we decided to give it a try one evening.
WOW!
It’s good! It’s really good!
I’m often let down by UK restaurants, even the pricey ones but Mélange does something very well it provides food that has been lovingly prepared by someone who knows exactly what they are doing.
I had the steak and chips. Perfect. Excellent meat, fantastic chips and the entire plate was bursting with flavour. My wife had a chicken dish and loved it.
The food is fairly rich /​substantial and has bags of flavour and character.
Today I popped in for a small breakfast Eggs florentine with an Americano, £5.90 not bad at all.
Mélange is honest, simple and a fantastic addition to Crouch End. Please support a local restaurant and pay them a visit!
