I stumbled upon a yet not opened shop in the OXO Tower on a late November afternoon last year. Although I was in search for a wedding dress I had not yet found one.
I was lucky that Melani Potro of Melanie Potro Bridal Couture was in the shop that afternoon and kindly invited me and my friend in to have a quick look at the dresses in the shop despite it not being open and that was it, I found my dress! And I thought when brides said they ‘just knew’ when they had found the right dress was a bit of an exaggeration but I certainly had that moment when I saw my lovely Lena dress in Melanie’s shop.
I had a fabulous dressmaking experience with Melanie, monthly dress fitting visits from January to September resulted in the most beautiful and personal wedding dress I could only ever have dreamed of.
Based on my experience I would thoroughly recommend getting Melanie to design and make your dress — the whole process just made getting married all so much more wonderful and personal.
