Monty’s Tandoori

This Monys has been around for decades and despite walking past it a zillion times I hadn’t visited since 1984. We came midweek and it was reassuringly busy. Service was attentive and friendly. Not exactly a complaint, but Montys is one of those Indians that offers a free vegetable selection-​slices of courgette, beef tomatoes, lettuce and carrot-​all at the start when you have nothing to eat it with”. I imagine most are half left (as ours was).
The food was very tasty. The tikka had a rich deep sauce and was made (correctly) with chicken tikka pieces. The vindaloo was rightly described a «very hot» and I’m glad to say was very hot, it creeping up on my taste buds and mugging them gradually-​really rich and deep with tamarind, just as it should be. The Indians in the centre of Ealing tend not to be great, hence my reluctance to visit. I shall however return to this Montys (I still don’t get how lots of «Montys» have the same signage but are not connected-that’s a different story I guess)

Excellent Indian food, always very busy at weekends. Reasonably good value and a nice atmosphere.

Book in advance. Be prepared to wait 45 minutes for your main course if they are busy. They cook to order so sit tight and you’ll enjoy a hot tasty meal when it finally arrives. Montys special kebab is my favorite.

Good prices and great food! Everything is perfectly seasoned, the service is nice, and I’m always excited to introduce someone to the fabulous food.
I’m not going to list the dishes I’ve tried but safe to say that lamb, chicken, shish kebab, prawn, fish — all wonderful! The naans are also very tasty, particularly the lamb one.
Definitely the place to go if you’re in Ealing!

Always fabulous service received having dined here for well over 20 years. The staff are polite, professional and efficient. Orders are always taken and delivered accurately, the food is always delicious and never ever served cold or stale. Wide range of drinks available and did I say the service is excellent?
Tables are always cleaned after diners depart discreetly and have never experienced any issues with the toilets being out of tissue or soap. Upstairs floor is available for private hire.
On my most recent visit found the restaurant to be very cold which is not good when you sit there feeling you have to rush through your meal to get out of there to get warmer! We mentioned this a few times to the staff and even when we were moved to a different table, we still found it really cold which pretty much spoiled our evening.

I’ve made many visits to Montys and to their restaurants in other locations. The tandoor paneer starter is very good, we had prawns, lamb and vegetable curry for mains.
Good service, generous portions and the restaurant is almost always full in peak hours.
Desserts aren’t all that and expensive. For three people a 2 course meal and 1 starter to share was £60 including service charge.
