When I first moved to London, everyone said I just had to go to Nando’s that it was SOOOAMAZING! So of course naturally my interest was piqued. So here I am… fresh off a 7 hour American Airlines flight, not in the country a mere 10 hours where do I go after I settle into my new flight? Nandos! So I tried it out… While I will say, it ain’t no Chicken Shack(look for my review), it was super good! Over the course of my time in London I would frequent the E & C location and the Baker Street location many a nights, usually with a friend and often times solo, I’ve got my order committed to memory. 5 wings Mango-Lime, Garlic Bread, Ceamy Mash, a side of Halloumi and 2 natas, actually no 3 natas(because they’re that good!) I never had halloumi until I went to Nando’s, a colleague of mind suggested I try it, and all I can say is thank goodness it ain’t a drug because I’d be in real trouble! The salty goodness of this firm cheese is brought out by grilling, its so divine. And the Natas! THENATAS! Those sinfully delicious sweet custard filled tarts are tasty little morsels that angels created. I became so addicted to them that I was convinced I needed to travel to Portugal to have them in the place where they were originally created(still working on that). All in all Nando’s has become a London mainstay and is well worth a visit.

If you’re ever around Elephant and Castle, definitely hit up a Nandos! …it’s not like there’s much other option anyway. Nandos is my saving grace. The restaurant is your typical Nandos rustic setting, and the food is prepared within twenty minutes(usually). The only negative which isn’t really a negative, it’s just my paranoia — I hate that the bathrooms are placed in the dungeon/basement. I always feel as though I’m in a horror movie walking down the narrow stairs into the lowly abyss of the restrooms… On the plus side, if you just want to wash your hands there’s a mini sink right next to the sauces — PHEW! No need to go down into the chamber — mwahah. Oh PS — bottomless frozen yogurt, need I say more?!

Found a not too well looking Restaurant, interior appearance gave a notion of being abandoned. Staff was very friendly to explain, help and above all to sell, but left the restaurant in slight disorder. Couscous salad with chicken came fast. The amount however, was disappointingly small. Quality was okay/average and sadly overpriced. My opinion: it’s not worth it.

Just amazing, I have been to Nandos four times, two times on this trip and two times on other trips. Its just amazing, customer service is pretty good and it is right in front of a major tube station. I definitely will be back. Looking forward to trying the one that has opened in Washington DC.

I had a voucher offer so i thought i would use it for lunch. Ordered a medium half chicken with chips and it filled the gap. Peri Peri sauce added flavour overall a nice lunch. good value.

There’s no real reason to go to this part of town from what I could gather, if you’re a tourist but somehow ended up here after going to a church service at old Iron Lady Thatcher’s church down the road. Have been wanting to try Nando’s for a while as I’m a big fan of piri piri and Portuguese food in general. The restaurant is big and has a slightly weird set-up: you are seated by a host but there is no waiter service at your table. Instead, after making your choice from the menu you go up to the counter to place your order, pay, take a number and then get your own cutlery etc. The food is delivered to your table when ready. Decent prices considering the portions as you can get a quarter chicken plus 2 sides for about 7 or 8 pounds I think. Unfortunately, even though I ordered Spicy(one below the hottest) I wasn’t that impressed by the flavour. Maybe I’m spoiled by cooking where the meat is marinated for hours with the skin pierced so that the marinade can enter the meat, but this was not the case here as after you ate the skin(or avoided it like me for dietary reasons), you got just plain old chicken underneath. You can add extra piri piri sauce from the available bottles but it’s not the same thing. Glad I tried it, but doubt that I will be back… to this location or any others.

The regeneration of the eyesore that is Elephant and Castle was a running joke at the university I attended in said ugly area. The only thing worse than the sight of Elephant and Castle? The food on offer. Seriously, as students we had two options, the uni canteen — gross — and that great big chicken emporium, Nando’s. I am more than a fan of chicken so this was no bad thing. Chicken wings, whole chickens, half chickens, chicken burgers, chicken Caesar salads; if chicken is your thing then you’ll likely love Nando’s. There are no airs and graces at this chicken chain, you order at the till and your food is brought to you. Staff are friendly, polite and tolerant of students and the food is tasty in a fast food kind of way. That is if you like chicken.

This is the nicest Nandos I’ve been to as the venue is beautiful with all the archways, it’s got fantastic river views amd as part of a chain you know exactly what you’re getting with the food.

The second and last time I visited this store, I ended up leaving without my food after having a disagreement with the guy who showed us to the table. It was silly but people like that make me sick. Some people are just power mad and it can go right to their heads — his could barely fit through the door. It is sad as the location is amazing — overlooking the Thames, and there are some v nice private booths. Part of the reason we do not go there is also because we find a very nice Nandos in victoria which I feel has far better service and the chicken even tastes better. Perhaps it is just me? Do look let my bad experience put you off going! It is in a great location, close to the world famous borough market and as previously mentioned, the River Thames. I would advise that you sample one of the numerous dishes available in the market. They have some of the finest produce in London and this is backed up by the fact that they provide food for some of the top London restaurants.
